Last I heard Lamon is gonna be playing at Tennessee State

Mine was in the 2002 Regular Season Match-up of Oak Ridge and Dobyns-Bennett, DB was down 21-0 late in the first half and needed to get on the board before halftime.... the answer came in the form of Phillip Tritapoe the tight-end, who caught a short pass from Duran Ferguson and did a flip over the Oak Ridge defender who went for his legs..... Gave DB the momentum to have one of the greatest comebacks ever and win 35-28...

Long ago glory??? You make it sound like db goes 5-5 every year and talks about the days when they used to make it to the playoffs.... nope the case is DB is still the all-time winningest program in the state of Tennessee and keeps adding to it every year, while they continue to dominate their conference, and as I said earlier making it to the quaterfinals and semifinals.... Hey 3, when was the last time your team made it that far.... thats what I thought man.... your a joke and so is whatever team you pull for...

I'll go ahead and state that DB does in no way struggle with physical football... Now I'll agree that the physical edge has been somewhat gone the past two years... however the Karns game 2 years ago was a classic example of a team overlooking another team and getting brought down to earth..... what beat DB that night? You say it was Karns running it down there throats.... that had something to do with it... but they did not start this until they got momentum... and they got this momentum by taking advantage of turnovers (many made by an excellent player who was having a bad night due to illness).... now from that day on I have given Karns all the props I could for that game.... but in no way does that make me think that this particular DB team struggled when playing physical football. Infact the fullback from that year was one of the most physical players I have ever seen... Chase Flanery, ask anybody who played against him and they will tell you how hard he was to bring down and how hard he hit you on isolations and other blocks.... The other thing I don't understand is it says "Limit them come playoff time".... does this mean ONLY allowing them to make it to the quarterfinals and semifinals? Cause I know most teams just wish they could even make it to one of these games not to mention year in year out like DB does.... Sure they haven't won a state championship in the playoff system but if you keep getting this far then one year the bounce is gonna go your way...

Brandon Ghee (brother of Patrick who started 3 years for DB and has been playing at Wake) played at db his Freshman year is also on the team at Wake Forest for this coming year and he said that some players from DB were coming down for the camp...

Defense should be good... they have some awesome young talent on that side of the ball.... Wide-outs definetly don't have the skill or the experience that they did last year, but with all these passing camps that they have been going to, they should have a better passing game than I originally thought they would...

Last I heard Nottingham hasn't gone anywhere, but he had been saying UCLA was looking at him...

Dobyns-Bennett's J. Fred Johnson stadium... especially this year with the newly finished field house...

No I've never known him to do this before... Not even for the Duran, Lamon, and Purple passing game... No noone from DB went D1

This poll is not showing that DB wont be have to win hard fought close games from these teams.... It is showing that overall people think that at the end of the year they will have the better region record to get the #1 playoff season...This is because they usually do win the region... but not without close calls from teams like Jefferson County, Bearden, and Science Hill, and even the occasional loss to a Karns....

Thats good to hear... hes a heck of a guy and a heck of a player.... and he can absolutly lay some hits too...

I wasn't saying thats why DB hasn't won a state championship.... Your original statement was: "DB is among the GREATEST with the least to show for!" Then you said: So I was merely pointing out the fact that it is impossible for DB to have anything to show for their 'Greatest' facilities if they have yet to play a season while using these facilities.... Don't try to turn my words just cause you didn't say waht you wanted the first time

I saw Gerald Riggs in the Semi-Finals game against Dobyns-Bennett in 2000 and he was the real deal even back then.... That was the worst mix of cold and wet that I have ever seen and DB had a really good back that year in Adonis Johnson who had run all over Oak Ridge the week before.... well the rain slowed Adonis down and didn't seem to phaze Riggs at all.... I was amazed at how good he was

If your wording of 'greatest' really was in regards to DB's facilities then how would they have any comparison to other schools throughout the state??? The brand new field house just opened up this off-season.... so clearly they have yet to play a season with the use of their 'Greatest' facilities.... You can only compare them to other teams throughout the state that have played the past few seasons with the run-down facilities that the Indians have had.....

I'm not real sure what hes gonna be playing down there... but I think Stephen Moton is back at JCM... and if he plays anything like he did at DB he's gonna be one of the best in the state....

I see a little bit of a discrepancy between these two posts... I capitalized the two words that seem to disagree with each other....

Winningest all-time team in the state of Tennessee.... Rarely a season with less than double-digit wins...... Constantly in the playoffs (usually making it to the quarterfinals or semifinals)..... Almost always District Champs..... Yeah seems like an average school with below average results to me....

I was gonna say '99 but I wasn't 100% sure and didn't want to give false information...

Chris was an awesome wide-out for us back when he played....
