YEEEEEEE HAW I can go to the game now. Happy days are here again, I appreciate the news Skunk as well as the words of your other post. Fart needs to teach these other kids how to talk garbage and still be likable. Now that it will be a dry game, it all comes down to containing the DB air attack (I dont think stopping it is an option). My boys will have to play a perfect game to pull this one out, and I mean perfect, even then it will be close. With all the mess going on with Bowlin I dont know if it will affect the team or not. Well put my friend. This prolly isnt the best place to talk about stuff like that, especially if the person talking about it plays for the team. Thats all you need to say. Play hard whenever you guys play, you never know what might happen.

Good rant. This thread is out of control, people are talkin about bus rides and when to play the game more than the actual game.

If this story about Bowlin is true it does not shock me at all. I would have to talk to some players before I talked about it anymore. I didnt play for JCHS by the way, I was an avid student section participater

Well I have finally come out of the woodwork for my thoughts, Ive been ashamed to talk about the game because I wont be there (concert in Johnson City). This has been a good thread so far, minus a couple of DB fools talkin nonsense my boy Fart Vanderbilt has keep it clean and hit us with the stats as always appreciate it Fart.. As ol Skunk said, last year was our year to beat the Tribe and it just did not happen. This year's team reminds me a lil of the team of my senior year in 2003, a bunch of over achievers, they have really surprised me so far, rebounding after Rhea Co. Duran Ferguson has performed as advertised, Ive been keepin up with him in the Johnson City Press. His numbers are UNBELIEVABLE. 300 yards passing on Oak Ridge? Its gonna be tuff. Duran and Williams had success on lasts years JC secondary which was a WHOLE lot tuffer than this years, Shane Acuff and the boys give it their best but it just isnt there. The only way we will have a chance is pressure up front, Smiley and Red Dog need to have career nights, I know Duran can beat us with his feet too so looks like it will be hard. If it rains, I say it hurts JC more, because Shiverdecker is a cutting speedster, MUD=TOUGH TO CUT IN. Games in the mud are won in the trenches playing power football. Tre Reliford and Yeary will have to step it up. I hope they move it up to Thursday so I can go watch the game. To pull this one out, my boys from the JCT will have to play a mistake free football game. Im anxious to see how Ben Pewitt handles the game, its the biggest one of his life. He handled the MoWest game really good, there is no doubt in my mind he should be the signal caller.

As far as the chant goes I can assure everyone that the JC faithful were not referring to said player, they were saying Tido. But thats old news. (WHAT UP SKWERL) And as for you Mr T, your little playoff fodder may work for East but we are not hearing it. Last time I checked Jeff CO had a state title more recently than West. You can talk all you want about last year but the kids aint bring home the hardware, and JC handed you the loss. So as for your point you can go tell Walter to do a cheer about it. And that was nothing against Walter he is an amazing fan and man.

I agree that beating East is the number objective of West but you would have to be complete moron to say that Jeff CO isnt a strong second as far as most hated rival. I would explain it again but I did in my last post. Better consult the rest of the A-Team. I tired of this high and mighty bull, you know you West people wanna talk trash so just do it. Whoever loses will just eat crow and wait till next year. Get over yourselves. As far as that goes, CC held East 33 yards, JeffCO held CC to 0 points and put 35 on the board. This fact alone shows you are as worthless as scrimmage results.

Well its time for the token Lawyer post in a DB thread once again. (I gots to give Fart something to talk about) Having seen both these teams in action last year against my Patriots and both of them handing an L to the JCT boys I think this is going to be a great game. Sounds like neither team has lost a lot from their strong teams last year. If anything I think DB has gotten stronger. Ferguson is putting up some big time numbers and with Williams back in the mix they will be tuff to contain. Oak Ridge had a good running attack last year and with a strong line they should be able to move the ball. SOOO. I think it will come down to who can keep from making mistakes, these are two good teams so it will be a hard fought game for sure. Eat some Big Ed's for me, my recomendation is call in an order on the way to the game and take it in the stadium, thats what my crew and I did last year and it worked out great. thumb

First off to say that this isnt the biggest rival (minus East vs West) of either team is a rediculous thing to say. This is the most hated and bitter rivalry for the teams because so many people know each other from both schools. Kids from Maryville dont know anyone from West and vice versa. Being in neighboring counties these two schools have alot in common and one thing being they hate each other. Last years game was a great game, hard fought on both sides. West rebounded incredibly after the loss and did what we SHOULD HAVE DONE by getting to the Buro. Even though I hate most everyone from West with a burning passion you have to give them props for what they did last year. A perfect game was the only way they could have brought home the hardware. Back to this year, no matter what you say BOTH teams lost a whole lot of talent from last year. Shockley, Rice, Goforth, Pee Wee and others for West. Parker, Scooter, Jeff and T Money for us. I think this years game will go alot like last years just sloppier. This will not be a defensive struggle though it will be a game full of big offensive plays. Jeff Co. pulls it out 28-21. Let people trash talk, bragging rights are what this rivalry is about. We beat West, West got to State. Thats all.

I dont have an 8th grade attitude, its sophomoric at worst. The very fact that a banner victory for Campbell Co. atheletics in the last five years was a victory over an underachieving JCHS team is sad indeed. Not tryin to start up something, but why didnt Williams play the first two weeks. I missed something, people around my way said he got into with the coach or something to that effect. I hope he is in mid season form by the time Jeff CO rolls into town so I have something entertaining to watch Anywho you boys have fun at Bearden, if your student section travels well then it can be a VERY fun game because of the single side stands. Sitting not 50 feet from the opposing student section can make for some very raundy conditions. Without The Golden Boy Britton Colquit (AKA Johnny Three DUI) Bearden will get dominated. (and yes I know he graduated 2 years ago I just wanted to say that)

Yack yack yack. ...no...need...for...all the ellipses...or these lol...lol.... You Campbell Co. folk and JC4Life as well, talk up these teams like they will be playing in Murfreesburo come winter. ITS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. My boys from the JCT just dont have it this year, and CC never had it and prolly will never have it. With that said, this should be a good game between two mediocre teams, not a showcase game by any means. CC will play us tough, because they always do, but I still say we win fairly comfortably. Being behind your team is all good but you have to be realistic about things. Remember that.

I dont know what it is but Campbell Co. always seems to give us trouble. I hate to sound like a sour puss but I just dont know about us this year. I think the whole QB thing is gonna weigh on both guys confidence alot until one of them plays the majority of the time. With that said it will be nice to see how the boys rebound after last night. I think they will get the win in the home opener, winning the game early and the score not reflecting how the game went because of late TD. Right you are Mr. Vanderbilt. Shane Acuff is the only reciever that should be playing, the others should be replaced by lineman who should be trying to protect our QB who SHOULD be Mr. Pewitt. Sounds like ol Marty need to run a Maryland I form, with two TE positions on the line and one WR. A LONG ONE INDEED

I prolly wont make it to the DB/SS game, I have to move up tommorow from God's Country aka JCT to the Tri-Cities, so by the time the boys are bashin pads Ill be enjoying an ice cold adult beverage in my new crib. I remember you rep that Ca$hville, Ten a Ki now, Bud. Im rusty its been a loooooooong offseason. I will be at the DB/JCHS game though, I have it marked on my calendar. You injins wont have as much to worry about as you did with last year's edition of the Patriots.

keep an eye on Chris Shiverdecker at Jeff Co. He has Scooter Houston like speed and is a good back. He could have a good year if the JCHS offense is clicking

Well with the loss of our entire backfield, our best wide reciever and the only reasons the defense didnt get completely run over, gone to college and/or William Blunt I dont know if my boys can pull this one off. I hope they can, there are still a couple of kids that I like and respect on this years squad. I dont know anything about Rhea Co either, although they did give us a little fight last year. I still gotta go with the ol boys from the JCT
