  1. Yes you are throwing fire and yes you just tossed some at the devil. You obviously dont respect us or you wouldnt make ignorant comments like that. I am amazed at your vast wealth of knowledge about Jefferson County and the folks that live there. I guess it is going to be really tough to take, when we come out of the trailor park, come to your backyard and "steal" this game from mighty Oak Ridge. I dont care what happened when Coach K was our coach and I sure dont care what happened in 91. Welcome to 2003 the year of the Redneck.
  2. No offense to you Art but I have seen DB once and I do not claim to be the authority on them. Ill give you this, DB beat my boys, not a doubt about it. OR had them 21-0. So OR is the better team? OK then so by Mr. Vandalay's logic, Karns High School is the best team in Tennessee! Beavs all the way to state, oh wait they didnt make it to the playoffs. Yeah you cant deny art, DB is a good team but they are not the measuring stick for every team. JC is a 1 dimensional team? Please, Tyler Brown is one of the leading recievers in East Tennessee. And as far as coaching goes, Scott Meadows is a fine coach and an even better man and I know for sure that he wouldnt let a fine team like DB come out so flat they get beat by a far below average football team. My appologies to every DB fan (especially bud) except Art but DB does not make it past the third round wether its OR or JC they face. Enough DB talk, its OR this week. Thanks for the info on Big Ed's. Look for me I'll be there about 5 oclock wearing a shirt that says "Who fArt Vandalayed?"
  3. Classic. What a dream second round in Regions 1 and 2. No matter what two teams come out with a win this week, Round 3 will have great story lines. Oak Ridge and Jeff CO are both out for DB blood. McMinn CO is out for revenge against OR. McMinn's coach is a former Jeff CO assistant. Insanity. Both this game and the OR/JC game should be great games, almost too close to pick
  4. I dont think any "overlooking" talk even exists. The way I see it, these are two 5A powerhouses that should be meeting in later rounds than 2nd. Jeff CO's ranking in any poll doesnt really mean much. JC and Oak Ridge are two very talented football teams that should be very closely matched. STAT TIME! Common Opposition: Sevier Co. JC 49-0 OR 49-14 (49-10 Round 1) Dobyns Bennet JC 23-34 OR 28-35 William Blount JC 19-7 (Round 1) OR 16-14 As you can see, both teams played their common opposition fairly close. Ill be the first to say that you guys played DB closer than we did. As far as schedules go I think OR had a slightly tougher schedule than JC. Both teams have lit up the scoreboard, both teams only failed to score 30+ points in three games. Both teams are 2-1 in what Id consider big regular season games, (MTown West, DB, Science Hill) and (DB, McMinn Co, William Blount). These teams have thier fair share of playoff history between them and against each other as well. Should be a classic, as far as fans, a JC student section might even not exist at the game, but parents and supporters will be in attendance. I cant wait for this one, it will be a real test for both teams in a high pressure situation. You DB folk need to hook me up with the address of Big Ed's Pizza and maybe some directions.
  5. Govman, How could I forget the drop in the endzone? That was definetly a huge play. It had shades of the VT/Miami game on the fake field goal for Miami. My heart really does go out to that kid because I know he is not happy with himself. The fumble on the goal line is really not like Jeff Co. I couldnt really tell what happened but I think the exchange was a little shaky and Scoot never had the ball. Like I said earlier in this thread, the WB dline needed to just fill the holes and let the backers make the tackles. I think they did a great job of this, they got alot of hits on Jeff, Scoot, and Carson on the line of scrimmage, besides DB maybe the best Ive seen a team do that this year. I thought Wojo threw a very good game, really surprised me. I knew the kid had an arm from Jeff CO playing them in baseball (I was the voice of Patriot baseball last year.) But he was pretty elusive and could throw on the run, he picked apart the zone many a time. As far as the block in the back on the punt return. This is what I saw....the JC player was slowin to make the play, he was almost past the returner, and the WB player ran into his back, so yes he did hit him in the back and it looked like a block to me. WB was definetly penalized more than JC. I dont know if that was the refs fault, because I was lookin at the game with a blind Patriot eye. No matter what the answer to the if's and but's, both teams played a good clean game and should be proud.
  6. I agree with your sentiments Susie, well said. Govman, your boys surprised me, they played a hard fought game tonite and should be proud. Once again the Jeff Co D came up big, the WB wing T really looked sharp all of the first half but sputtered towards the end. I had half a mind to come and yell "Govman" at anyone wearing an orange cap but when I glanced over and half the visitor's stands were sporting one I decided against it. Not tryin to butter you folks up but truthfully the Govenors were one of the classiest teams I have seen my boys play in a while. Situations that normally end with jawing and shoving ended with a pat on the rear. Great sportsmanship by both teams. One point I know you WB folks will be on is the long reception to Tyler Brown, there was definetly contact between the DB and Tyler. It did not appear to me that Tyler shoved the other player to the ground, I think the contact was incidental. No matter if it was or not, I think that was one of the most amazing catches I seen on Leroy Shannon Field, he one handed that beast, while stumbling. Tyler played a good game, and kept his mouth in check. So Tyler when you read this, NO I AINT HATIN! You did good tonite kid.
  7. Well well well. A doctor huh? I might have to holla at one of your business cards, it must be a sight to see Dr Rip7, PhD of BS. #1. You have never heard anyone on here "talk" you have merely read what they typed. I could be a deaf mute with 1 leg and a haggard dental structure. You never know. #2. I have known plenty of people that most considered "educated" and they have been some of the most unintelligent people I have ever met. The letters before or after your name mean about as much as teets on a boar hog. The only title I am concerned with is the Jr. on the end of Jeff Jennings' name. Because, tonite him and the rest of the boys get it done, well done. JCHS - 37 WB - 20 Patriotghost79 and myself, just another couple of uneducated rednecks from Jefferson County. Yeah don't forget Grand Slam Pizza as well as 3 McDonald's locations. Cant forget the most dangerous place in East Tennessee, the ghetto of White Pine . Jeff CO is on the best places on God's Green Earth.
  8. I still think SH pulls it out in McMinn Co. Call it a gut feeling but I think that McMinn is the pretender of the Region 1/2 teir of the playoff ladder. If SH has any heart whatsoever they will be starving for a rematch with DB to avenge the whoopin they got.
  9. Sit down, close your mouth and do not speak unless spoken to. Thats not what I said, if you wanna sit around and wait for me to slip and post something stupid dont hold your breath. Well they say J & Scoot walk around like they got an S on their chests, Id say its more like a Bat and a Robin, Id guess that fits best. (Dont make me rhyme anymore) I think for a D line to stop JC they will have to just play thier game and not try to guess outside or up the middle. Because then they will be chasing all over the field, to stop JJJr and Scoot they will just have to fill thier gaps and let the backers make the tackles Id say. I dont know what the latest forecast is but Ive heard cold and no rain. The field should still have that November Playoff sog to it though.
  10. Well our O line is good, Im not knocking them but if they are the best that WB has seen this year then WB has not played anybody. They do there job fine, they have an abundance of heart but not shear size and sometimes heart cant do it all. GovMan, 1. If you are comin from Ktown to Jeff Co it is all a matter of how you like to drive and what time you will be leaving. Around rush hour the interstate will be packed but just until before Sevierville. Taking the interstate to the HW 25/70 exit (cant remember the number i was just there last night) and then taking 25/70 to 11E might be your best bet. Just stay on 11E till you get to Jeff City, (first stop light after the hospital) then take HW 92 to the highschool. Hope that wasnt too confusing. 2. If it does rain (please God no) it might slow down Scooter a little but Jeff still has the raw power to grind out a slow paced football game.
  11. Well you ask for it so here it be... Lawyer Milloy's over/under for the Friday November 7th TSSAA 5A Region 1/2 first round playoff game..... Patriot Rushing Yards - 200.5 Gov Passing yards - 100.5 Expletives said by me during the first half - 50.5 # of JCHS students that actually care about the game - 5.5 Catches by Tyler Brown - 3.5 Flags on Tyler Brown for runnin his mouth - .5 Tackles by Desmond Reliford - 10.5 Fits of rage by Desmond Reliford - 2.5 Gov first downs - 12.5 Patriot first downs - 15.5 WB fans in attendance - 600.5 Stupid things said by JCHS announcer John B. Cagle - 5.5 Temperature at game time - 55.5 Patriot turnovers - 3.5 Well thats the ones I could crap out, just a note, nothin against Tyler and Desmond, Desmond's fits of rage actually pump up the team most of the time I think. I might return with more, Im off to see The Matrix: Revolutions .
  12. Thanks ol boy, same to you. I enjoy a good shocking upset as much as the next guy, as long as it doesnt involve the Patriots. Let it be known, I run numbers like Bumpy Johnson in Hoodlum.
  13. Well until the game is played paper talk is all that there is to say. Yeah maybe Jeff Co's schedule isnt as tough as WB but the point of that is you guys didnt win the games that counted. Granted Jeff CO faultered against DB but every game besides that was dominated. WB's average margin of victory 7 points. JC's average margin of victory 30 points.
  14. Your opinion as a staunch DB fan is greatly appreciated. I want nothing more than a rematch with DB, I can assure you that. DB would have my blessing to finally play in a state championship game if they beat us twice . SHHHHHH! Maybe the rest of the state will underestimate the double barreled 12 gauge pump shotty that is the Patriot backfield. Because GovMan and his cronies obviously do not realize the power of JJJr and Scoot along with the rest of the Patriots. Sorry about the Sundquist thing he was the first that came to my mind. But you knew what I meant so its all good.
  15. Jefferson County's Jeff Jennings and Scooter Houston both have 1k on the year as previously mentioned in this thread. Just another reason why Lincoln and Jefferson would not only be a battle of former Presidents but 4 excellent backs too. I hope to see LC later on this month!
  16. It all depends on how you look at it, if the Big3 trump the talent at the bottom of region two or not, so for WB I guess region 2 is a tough region. But thats neither here nor there. WB does not have the offense to even play in the same game as Jeff Co, and with the Jeff CO Defense allowing only 18 points in the last 3 games I dont see the Don Sundquists lighting up the scoreboard on friday. I think J.J.Jr and Scoot will have the better part of the 2nd half off in this one.
  17. Jeff Co's last "truly tough opponent" Science Hill was a month ago. In the three games since then, JC-158 Opponents-19. For those scoring at home that is an average of 52-6. WB's scoring average on the year, 18. Most points scored, last week 36 in a shootout with Bradley Central. My point? To beat Jeff CO you have to put points on the board, something that WB has had trouble doin. And is region 2 better than region 1? Its close, the way I look at it 1 has JC, SH, and DB, 2 has Oak Ridge. I still dont think McMinn CO is a real threat. What Im saying is region 2 has teams that all have similar levels of talent, much like the SEC they just beat up on each other. Whereas R1 is just the BIG3 beatin up on everybody else. So in short, region 2's cellar dwellars are better than the bottom of region one so I guess that does make 2 better. Say what you will but if JC played in Region 2 they would go ATLEAST 9-1 if not run the table and WB would probaly have a better record in 1.
  18. Well after reviewing the playoff possibilities I have found some interesting facts. If DB wins tonight, and both teams reach the 2nd round of the playoffs they would meet again. That would be insanity, 2 battles in 3 weeks. From a Jeff Co perspective I think the best situation for us would be for DB to lose, giving us the #1 seed and what I see as an easier path to the Borough. I still think DB pulls this one out even though it would be better for me and mine if they lose. Should be a great one, hope both teams have a safe game so they can be 100% for the REAL season to start.
  19. I find it highly amusing that is SH wins, yes DB wont be first be neither will SH it will be Jeff Co. I have no idea what this loon is talking about but it got a laugh out of me. Your attempt at a humorus Master Card parody of rejected at the register.
  20. Major props to Scooter Houston and Jeff Jennings. Both 1k yard rushers for Jeff CO, a one two punch unparralled in TN football.
  21. If West couldnt cut it in the playoffs with some of the teams that played at Burke-Toney stadium in the last 10 years, I have a real tough time believing that this year's team will be any different. They are a good team but they havent had much success in the big games (Jeff CO, Maryville, Cleveland.) I just dont see them getting to Nashvegas let alone comin home with the bling.
  22. The only lawsuit I am associated with is the one I wear to weddings and funerals. I heard Britton Colquitt will be attending the game and will be dressed as an inmate as his Halloween costume. OH wait that wont be his costume, he was cited for underage consumption amoung other things. The only way Bearden wins this one is if The Great Pumpkin shows up with Lucy and she pulls the ball away from Travis Jenkins causing a chain reaction of injury and mayhem.
  23. Yeah you have been to a game this year. Sweet Lord son, bigdaddy69 has only seen one JCHS game this year and he knows TB plays db. Now sometimes I might not call what T$ plays "defense" maybe but he does play both sides of the ball. Tyler is a good db because he is a WR firstly, secondly he has good speed and vision. My only gripe about him is he doesnt look to hit people. He isnt a wimp and he can tackle but he doesnt look to knock a fool's head off at any given moment.
  24. I find it hard to believe that this year's Bearden team is better than last year's without a Colquitt. This year's edition of the Patriots is better than last year's. So that means... Improved team > Not improved team Thats equals win for the Patriots. It will be senior night, the boys will not overlook this game. I also find it hard to believe that you will stop the Patriot O. DB really been the only team to SLOW DOWN the unstoppable force and even they didnt shut it down. I just dont see any merit in anything you say.
  25. He graduated the year before the school was split into East/West. The early East teams dominated the early West teams but now a days it a whole different ballgame in Motown. But thats another thread entirely... And as far as a Jeff Co fan telling TribeFan SH cant beat DB by the way the teams played our boys I guess that that would be true. But anything can happen on any give Friday. My prediction stands.
