  1. I hope you River Cats are right. I'm showing up to see some of the younger boys get to play. We're looking down the road to November to see how many fresh legs Johnnie Boy will have when he takes the Panther Bus on the playoff road to either Huntingdon or Union City. Picture this: a cold, windy November night with snow flurries and a lot of wind on that flat Obion Co. bean field. Proud, plenty-of-money Union City sitting at home, 20 pt. favorite, and the Panther Bus rolls into Tornado Alley, smoke spewing out the tailpipe, backfiring, barely running, delivering the River Rats to play for a trip to Chattanooga. That's what I'm looking for - November.
  2. I think Camden can score more than once, River Cat 123, with that Wavo style spread offense. I think they can put up 21...hoping anyway. QB Dobson has some firepower with a couple of good receivers. I look for Jackson to have another big night on the receiving end.
  3. I'm hoping to get back to this being a packed, rowdy house on both ends soon. This is a good rivalry when Camden is up. Huntingdon always brings a nice crowd anyway, but especially if the game is competitive.
  4. C-towne still rebuilding. They have a lot of younger players on the field and they will continue to grow.
  5. I don't think some are figuring in that these are (consistently) the best teams Riverside have had in school history. Traditionally, RHS has been outmanned and out gunned by Lexington, and rightly so, as the size of the schools plus demographics reflect. But not so in recent years. I think the recent wins reflect the rise of the RHS program more than a decline in LHS. Don't panic LHS, Riverside could beat a lot of 4A schools.
  6. Way to go Riverside. Several areas to improve but Johnnie and the coaches will tune it up before cold weather. LHS will do like they usually do and get better as the season progresses. They have a lot of athletes.
  7. Frostie is the best coach in the state of TN, and the tallest too.
  8. 35-14 R.H.S. The swamp will be rocking in Parsonsville! Bring mosquito spray and a chair.
  9. I always pay attention to the Hardin Co./Adamsville game. It is one of the most interesting rivalries in West TN.
  10. I figured you were. I know you know what's up. Have a great season over there Salem.
  11. Those Cards from Adamsville might be the team to beat in this region - Riverside and Adamsville are two fine programs at work.
  12. 1. Riverside 2. Adamsville 3. Lewis Co. 4. E. Hickman JMO after week one.
  13. A good Thursday night game on tap for West TN as Frosties' River Rats playing early in the week so they can have a longer weekend on the river. It's real fun having a major river running through your back yard, and the folks of Decatur Co. have a lot of fun on it. They also have a lot of fun beating their much larger next door neighbor - Big Red Tiger High. I'm picking the Panthers in this one 34-21. This should be a very good game this year - it usually is. GO RHS!
  14. Waverly is a 9 or 10 game winner this year in regular season. Their offense is as good as usual and their defense is much better. They are going places. I'm glad Riverside doesn't have play them this year.
  15. Wavo was rolling at half, 40 - 14. Lions still building the program. They'll be back.
  16. You going to be there tonight Vandy? If so, meet me by the gate where the visiting players go on to the field. We have some football to discuss.
  17. The good news for my River Rats is that McNairy might be down. The bad news is, when McNairy is down, Adamsville is usually rolling.
  18. My prediction is Riverside 42 McNairy 14
  19. Frostie might not win the west, but he is definitely reloaded. I'm saying Riverside and Westview in a rematch for the west.
