If my failing memory serves me right the best game I remember was the class 3a 1988 semi-final game between Dickson and Hendersonville. Dickson had a great runningback Jeffery Vauhgn and Hendersonville had Dwayne Dotson. If I remember correctly Dickson won on a late TD run by Vaughn. They went on to win the Clinic Bowl vs. Oakland.
Information that might be interesting.

Indian,
I believe that at one time you listed a possible region/district alignment if public and private schools ever split. It seemed that you put alot of time and effort into it. If you still have that information I would love to see it posted. I know that it is still two seasons away but it is interesting to look ahead at the posible make up of the new regions. Thanks.
Throw enough money on the table and I'm sure that Coach Sharp would consider leaving. I think any coach has to put his family's intrest first. I know he loves it at Lewis Co. but he would be a great coach at Mt. Pleasant.
We are in the process of trying to convince our school board and administration to allow us to have an in school athletic period. If you don't mind please reply if your school does or does not have an athletic period and if you do how does your school work it (time, length, sports involved). Thanks in advance for your help.

I find it hard to believe that coach Sharp would be party to something like this happening. He has always seemed like a class act. I have known of overzealous parents/fans doing this type of thing without the coaches knowledge.
Is it true that after he was kicked out of the pressbox he was seen filming on a grassy knoll?

Creekwood is a new school in Dickson County. It is located between White Bluff and Charlotte. It primarily serves the western part of Dickson county. They will be primarily comprised of freshmen and sophomores. Their head coach is Chris Clapper.
Let me start off by saying that this is not meant as a slam against CPA, they are a very good team and very well coached. I do feel that their current record does illustrate the point that many split supporters have addressed. CPA is currently 2 and 3 (losses to private schools USJ, Ezell, and Goodpasture and wins over public schools Jo byrns and G-Pittman). If the split were to happen CPA's problem could become the norm for many private schools. If all privates were forced to play each other then many teams who are perennial play off teams might become second tier division II teams. A common argument against the split is that it will water down competition and have too many championships. I feel that the problem is it will actually limit the number of possible championships that privates can win. Dropping that number from 4 of the possible 7 (DI-A, DI-AA, DII-SMALL,AND DII LARGE)to only a possible three.
I have also heard that it is Collinwood that is proposing the split to the TSSAA and that they seem to a the majority of A and AA football coaches on board.
Has anyone else heard of this? (I may be out of the loop!)
As a person who has coached both middle school, high school and summer league baseball I feel that the greatest advantage to middle school baseball is the fact that these teams are comprised of the same kids that will play high school ball together. Sometimes a summer league team that is comprised of kids from different school gives you a false sense of how good your kid is. Middle school school ball gives you a preview of what the high school program will look like and what areas need to be addressed (i.e. lack of pitching, speed, etc. at your school.)
