  1. I'm pretty sure no one is taking anyone lightly. Both teams have prepared and the better team will win. There will be no excuses afterwards. I honestly think it will be a great game and wish both teams the best! This game is what high school football is all about!!!
  2. i69bulldogs you and bombsquid can choke one the same football at the same time for all i care. this is not 3a anymore.. jasper ...this where the big boys play ...you will learn soon enough how to keep your traps shut. u lil leaguers are all the same .. so smart you're dumb ..and remember clowns respect is earned or taken ..and i dont you see you doing *either* of the two. - ill be back later ..2 deal with you clowns ..i have work and research to do. Maplewood Wins!!! By your logic wouldn't the big boys be in 6A? Which would make this game completely meaningless. Maplewood is good. DL is good. Someone will be happy after the game. Someone won't. If DL loses they will congratulate Maplewood. If they win they will congratulate Maplewood.
  3. I don't think there are any. What point are you trying to prove? If you check the last 10 years you won't find many either. Most of Lipscombs players have been around since elementary school. As for bulldog... I am picking Page to win because that was his best post ever!!!
  4. One big advantage that the mustangs have this time is that the middle school football season is over. This allows Coach temple time to devise a new offense for the varsity which can be implemented sometime between 6:50 and 6:55 Friday night.
  5. Actually both teams are highly focused on Coacht posts. Many great game plan suggestions have been given to the Lipscomb staff over the years through coacht message boards. For example, they didn't realize they had to make adjustments, until someone told them. They also realized, through coacht, that they would have to stop the run. I'm sure coach mc is at his computer now, with a large tray of fried chicken, soaking in all the knowledge he can! So to coach mc I offer this bit of helpful insight:(giles county coaches please don 't read) gc will be trying to run, pass, and tackle. Also they will be making adjustments. please use this info to the best of your ability.
  6. Black and gold blankets wont be needed till saturday, that is when Vandy plays UT. Alabama is our neighbor, so we will be glad to treat you as such.
  7. You might actually have trouble finding a seat on Friday, so you should probably think about standing.
  8. Knowing Coach McAdams, the penalties will be addressed and hopefully won't happen again.
  9. If the mustangs get way ahead, look for Coach Taylor to take over the play calling and call white seam a lot. That is a conservative play call for the mustangs.
  10. So many act is if putting private schools in div 2 will make everything right in high school sports. But just as soon as that ever happens, the same people will find something else to moan and complain about. I can hear it now, the next will be to split off rural and city schools. Then we will break it down to schools with the best facilities, and those with bad facilities. If we keep going at this rate everyone will be in their own division and every team will get a gold ball just for being them....isn't that warm and fuzzy? I say, make 1 division 1 championship and make it mean something for the team who wins it.
  11. There is only one way this game will be closer and that's if Hightower actually touches the ball on offense.
  12. Bias refs? (or bais as you called them, thank you maplewood education). To see bias you need only to look in your mirror. p.s. tell athomp54 we miss him on the boards.
  13. Why even debate this issue... no one will ever win! The reality of it all is that both sides have real arguments. The point everyone seems to miss is that there is just as much disparity among public schools themselves, as with publics and privates. No one can tell me that Alcoa and pearl cohn have equal facilities, budgets, players, etc. Or compare White house or Greenbrier where the whole community supports them, to mcgavock high school where there are few people who could care at all how they do. What about williamson county schools and their facilities? how do they compare to those of inner city memphis schools? Why is it that Fulton seems to get a good team year after year? There plenty of other schools and counties with unfair advantages over each other. It is an oversimplification to say privates vs publics. I'm sure not all private schools are equal either. If fairness is the only issue, then this couldn't possibly be a solution.
  14. I have no idea what happened after he yawned. Did it cause someone else to yawn? Maybe he was yawning because he was reading one of your posts that sounds the same as all of your other posts regardless of who you are playing. And when Maplewood loses, this week or next, let me be the first to yawn at you complaining about the officials
  15. Great idea!! Here are my suggestions for divisions to award state championships to: 1- rural private schools from counties with unemployment below rates below 5% and enrollment less than 200 2- rural private schools from counties with unemployment below rate below 5% and enrollment 200 to 400 3- rural private schools from counties with unemployment rates below 5% and enrollment over 400 4- suburban private schools from counties with unemployment rates below 5% and enrollment less than 200 5-suburban private schools from counties with unemployment rates below 5% and enrollment 200-400 6-suburban private schools from counties with unemployment rates below 5%and enrollment over 400 7-urban private schools from counties with unemployment rates below 5%and enrollmentunder 200 8-urban private schools from counties with unemployment rates below 5%and enrollment 200-400 9-urban private schools from counties with unemployment rates below 5% enrollment over 400 10- rural privates unemployment 0ver 5% enrollment under 200 11-rural privates unemployment over 5% enrollment 200-400 12- rural privates unemployment over 5% enrollment over 400 13- suburban privates +5% unemployment under 200 14-suburban privates +5% unemployment 200-400 15- " " 400+ 16- urban under 200 17- urban 200-400 18- 400+ 19-36 same thing with publics except enrollment split 5 ways instead of three so that would mean 12 more classifications for a total of 48 then we also need to divide all of these into categories of how much each school's athletic budget is. 3 categories each should work. 48 times 3 is 144 classifications So Tennessee better start ordering some more gold balls to give away
  16. Recent history? As far back as records go 8% is as high as unemployment has ever been. Maybe you know something we don't- or maybe you know nothing at all. Lipscomb does not hold kids back- parents hold kids back. And it is about the same percent of repeats at Lipscomb as most places. Actually public schools have higher repeat rates than Lipscomb. So maybe you should spend less time posting on Coacht, and more time looking for a job!
  17. So all public schools have the same circumstances? Of course not, Some have more money, booster clubs, better facilities, etc. So how will we level that? The point is nothing will ever be even in high school sports. the sooner people accept it the better!
  18. Hey genius you might want to check your facts-http://www.tennessee.gov/labor-wfd/labor_figures/september2007county.pdf according to the state of tennessee statistics, Marshall county is up to 8.4% unemployment last month it was 7.7 and the month before 5%. So please let me know where your 40% number came from. Perhaps your lack of knowledge prevents you from getting a job. As i see it with such high unemployment numbers that leaves everyone more time to practice football. all of the unemployed parents could volunteer and you would have a whole town full of coaches.
  19. 40 percent unemployment? Maybe you should move to nashville, There are not enough people to fill all the good jobs!! As for your point, what is it? Rich kids are better football players?
  20. No team in the state has equal circumstances. Some are blessed with better athletes. Some with better kids. Some with better budgets. No team in the state has exactly the same circumstances. The whole point of sports is that the field is not level. If everything were equal all games would end in a tie. In order for someone to win, one team has to work harder, have a better coach, get some lucky breaks, have a great player, etc. The only way you describe as fair, is to award every team a state championship just for having a team. Nice system that would be. I bet every kid would be proud to have earned that! Isn't it bad enough that we have 8 state champions now?!
  21. So.. will there be signs telling us where to sit?
