  1. Gee-whiz....what part of the state do you live in?
  2. It's next week, both schools had an off week this week.
  3. Is the scoreboard correct on this one?! Can anyone give any detail on what happened??
  4. I think MBA's offensive line is arguably one of the best--here's its members: 58 Billy Billington JR OL 6'5 230 72 Bransford Maxwell 12 OL 6'4 255 63 Leonard Edwards 12 OL 5'7 235 77 Erik Landman 12 OL 6'1 200 74 Joseph Birdsong 12 OL 6'4 275 <---one of the best in the state, here's his profile on rivals: http://mlive.Unapproved Website/viewprospect.asp?p...y=27991&sport=1 All of this information came from http://montgomerybell.com/atschool/athleti...rsityroster.php
  5. Too many extreme replies here....it was a good movie, but I wouldn't put it on the same level as Hoosiers.
  6. Eh, should be a good game. If the performance against McCallie was any indicator, I'll take MBA. They need to reduce the penalties, though.
  7. All I am concerned with is the 2004 Riverdale team. The past is okay, but statistics can be twisted all sorts of ways. For example, MBA has won 8 or so titles, but it took them what, 100 years + to do so. Riverdale has 3 in thirty years. Whose percentage is better? Actually, they've won 8 in recent TSSAA history. If you'd like to go back over 100 years, they'd be leading the state in championships easily.
  8. Actually, I got a chance to see it early. The only problem I saw with it was that it was set in 1988 and everyone was decked out in under armour . Good movie, and the person portaying Booby Miles does an excellent job.
  9. Joseph Birdsong of MBA: http://mlive.Unapproved Website/viewprospect.asp?p...y=27991&sport=1 scary guy
  10. Having seen it, I can say that it's definitely worth watching. Not the best movie of all time, but worth every penny of the price of admission.
  11. I agree, the average DIIAAA team this year is not head-and-shoulders above the rest of the state. What I'm saying is that only Riverdale could step into that division right now and more than likely come out without a loss. I think MBA, McCallie, MUS, CBHS, BA, and even Baylor could play with anyone with the exception of Riverdale. Not that the DIIAAA team would win every week...but I doubt many teams could step in and win the clinic bowl.
  12. Well, your logic works for both teams. Don't they both run the wing-t?
  13. The only team in that list I think you could argue is better than the Super 7 is Riverdale...and I don't even think they'd go undefeated if they had this kind of competition week in and week out. The game isn't the same in DIIAAA
  14. There's no use bickering about it...Riverdale kills everyone in TN this year with the possible exception of DB. You could count the teams that could keep it within 15 consistantly on one hand.
  15. Andy Snyder from MBA is a very, very strong Jr. RB.
  16. DI: Riverdale...there's no need for an argument for your team unless it's Riverdale....the only other team I see being able to compete is DB...maybe once out of twenty games that one would be close. DII: MBA or CBHS
  17. Oh, and...for the record, that goes for Friendship too. I'm sure they're a solid team because of the work they do and the facilities/coaches available to them.
  18. uh...oh....here we go with the recruiting talk again. Find one start player on MBA's football team who either doesn't live close or whose parents didn't attend. It's not about recruiting, it's about the summer training and number of coaches they have for every player. The intensity is unreal at those schools, ask any player. If you want to complain that they have an advantage, complain that MBA has multiple strength coaches, probably 15 football coaches and a DI college level strength training facility. It makes a bigger difference than you'd think.
  19. Wasn't McCallie's game vs. MBA their homecoming game?
  20. I agree that it'll be won in the trenches, but are McCallie's lines really that experienced? MBA's O-line returns 2 starters in Birdsong and Edwards...two very strong guards in Landman and Maxwell. There's only one junior playing at right tackle, Billy Billington. The D-line shouldn't appear any weaker with 2 returning starting seniors and a very strong junior.
  21. The game won't be decided by 21 points in either direction unless I'm really missing something...these teams should match up pretty well, and I see this game being decided by who wants it more. Hopefully that's MBA, but you never know.
  22. Harder hitters? Did you see Ryan's QB lying on the track or the kid from Baylor whose helmet went flying across the field?
