  1. Hey moron, several of those countries don't even have organized football. However, gopher poses a very good question and everyone seems to be writing him off. This issue could grow to be rather large, and the T$$AA better start looking into it. I heard the kid from Lispcomb from a year back (Santiago) was one of those FE kids. I heard he was a great soccer player in Peru and some Lipscomb people found him on a mission trip, brought him here to play soccer, and also found out he could knock your block off. They won a state championship w/ him. I know they also have the Abbasnazhad kid from Iran. Same issue? Is the McGee kid from Scotland? Wow, I might have just uncovered quite a conspiracy.
  2. I thought Tyner lost way too much up front to be nearly as good as they were last year. Have they replaced those huge guys? 3-3 vs. Lipscomb, 1-2 vs. Goodpature, 7 of the last 8 region championships, a state runner-up & a state championship all since 1997 ain't exactly chopped liver. I'd say there are a handful of programs out there that might be happy w/ all those "underachievements". How many schools have a winning record against Goodpasture and/or Lipscomb? How many teams would be thrilled w/ ONE region championship? How many great coaches have never even coached in a state championship, let alone won one? Wayne Turner does a darn good job at Tyner. I repsect him as a coach, and apparently, based on what I have seen him put on the field over the last 8 years, also as a man.
  3. According to a coach in Centennial's region, this very well could be their year. He says they are loaded and have finally figured out what it means to be a program of excellence. He says talent wise they are the best in the region, but only time will tell. Sounds like yet another Williamson Co. school has turned the corner. How soon will it be before Ravenwood turns that corner?
  4. From one parent to another: Let your kid be a kid. If he doesn't want to be a kid then MAKE him be a kid. For what it's worth, from what I hear you saying, I would say not to worry with D1, regardless of how good it is. Maybe after his senior year he could hook up with them.
  5. From what I know, it might depend on how much your kid is already involved in. If he's a multi-sport kid, and he has a good program at school in the summer then I am not sure I would recommend it. My feelings have nothing to do w/ how I feel about the D1 program that Will runs, but rather how I feel about kids being pulled in too many different directions already. I am a firm believer in allowing kids to be kids for at least a few hours a summer!
  6. Then why don't they hire a good coach? It is possible to hire a good one in Metro; look what Aydelot has done at Hillsboro. Furthermore, it's not only possible to hire a good coach, it's also possible to hire a good STAFF. Again, Hillsoboro has a very committed and hard working group. I don't know much about all Metro schools, but obviously Stratford did something right last year too. Pearl-Cohn has had a lot of success, and Glencliff had a year or two as well. I think Metro has proven that, in terms of coaching, if you can get some good continuity in a school then you can succeed. They have the kids walking the halls, and maybe even on the teams already, but they need a staff to care, and more than just care, care enough to stay around to see something brought to completion.
  7. He does work w/ HS kids, but not for free. Go to www.d1sportstraining.com for more information.
  8. Anyone who reads a thread and then replies with "who cares?" must care.
  9. I just heard that Fisher's youngest son will not be following in his older brother's footsteps and be attending CPA. Apparently the youngest Fisher will go from Grassland to Ensworth next year. Anybody care to verify?
  10. Yes, I am guaranteeing that Alcoa will defeat OS in the quarter-finals of the play-offs. And you can take that one to the bank, big boys.
  11. My sources tell me that McCurry is too much of a control freak to allow Vince Lombardi much say-so in his program. Will Tharpe be treated any differently?
  12. No, moron, that's the humor of it all. Wow, you're such a literalist. You probably think Jesus was promoting canibalism when he said "eat of my body." I don't know why I waist my time with you people.
  13. There's no way Eli is 210. If he's a pound over 205 I'll have myself circumcised with a rusty platic picnic knife.
  14. "Billy, ever seen a grown man naked?" Captain James Ober Airplane
  15. Donnie Warner Abner County 6-1, 210 middle guard Is getting letters from: Lambuth, Mt. Holy Oak, Campelsville, Trinity, St. Joe's, Dayton and Alabama. A bit undersized, but one heck of a scrapper.
  16. Thanks. Hopefully these will also brighten your day. The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese. I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she left me before we met. 17. No way! Anyone who gets on here w/ more than one alias is an idiot.
  18. Yes, jettjuice has fought a very valiant fight. He and Beattlejuice have handled the onslaught pretty well though. If he plays as well as he types then tomorrow night will be a battle royal. Were you educated in the north? Your subject/verb agreement is so very excellent; something you don't see very often in the south. Also, your speling is empicable. So many get on hear and mispell words, and that drives me carzy! Good luck to you, whoever you're rooting for this week. But irregardless, always remember that 100 million Chinese could care less.
  19. There's a fine line between fishing and standing on the shore looking like an idiot.
  20. Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read anyway.
  21. Good luck to all the underdogs this week. In the game of life we are all underdogs, and the smell down here is getting pretty disguisting. I guess if you think about the fact that we're under dogs it makes sense. I mean we're very, very close to their genitals, so of course it smells.
  22. I would just like to say that this is a message board, and if I made anyone mad then I'm sorry.
  23. Oh, now I get it! This is a MESSAGE BOARD. I was totally unaware of that until you pointed that out to me - Thanks! Another pointless thread. Anyone reading or posting on here is an idiot. pantherfanatic, you're right, there's no reason to post something and then follow it up with another post.
  24. Thanks, gopher. You must be one very smart man (or woman). Seems you've followed this "game" pretty well. Who do you think is wining thus far? Jettjuice is on his game, but he seems to be getting weary in the late rounds.
