  1. I'm glad to see our Ooltewah boys are finally getting some recognition, they played far beyond their size and expectations. I appreciate it (they are my friends), and I'm sure they do too. Hopefully some scouts will notice their ability and pick up some of these talented players, any of them could play at the next level to some degree.
  2. Nicely stated. I think sherman is well over 155 though.
  3. To start it off, I have nothing against Bradley, although their fans were quite obnoxious. I would just like to say that Bradley was a bit of a disappointment to me and most of the fans that attended the game. With all the hype, I was expecting Ooltewah be manhandled to be honest. But when it came down to it, Ooltewah was winning the majority of the game. I don't know if Bradley was just having an off night or what, but they didn't play like the #2 team in the state to me. Pickel is extremely quick, he really impressed me, especially playing with one healthy hand. Justin Hare really couldn't get a good look, and he missed a few open shots he had. Wes Suiter (sp) had some nice shots, but the refs really took Ooltewah out of this game. I don't see Bradley winning the state to be honest. This is all just my opinion, because Ooltewah could have easily taken this game.
  4. Ooltewah played McMinn County tonight in the sloppiest game I've seen in awhile. This game was just UGLY. Ooltewah managed to hang on, but Jujuan Smith did not disappoint. He hit 3 or 4 3's right in our mouths, and thats when he wasn't being double-teamed. We kept him from shooting a lot thank god, because he was all McMinn had. Put that man on a quality team in our region and they would be dominant. He also had no attitude problems, which is hard to find these days. I had never seen him play before, just giving my input on the game tonight. For Ooltewah, Michael Newsome is probably the only one that had a decent game, it was very sloppy. Expect them to come out a lot stronger this Thursday, though. GO OWLS!!
  5. dang, i didn't see this post . I just made a new one.
  6. The Owls won another big one last night, but they have yet to win against the Brainerd Panthers. Can they shut down the athleticism of this team, or will they fall short again in a struggle to hold on to the ball? It all comes down to who wants it more, in my opinion. The Owls have wanted a whole lot here lately, I'm gonna go with the Owls by 5. Lately they have been doing a good job of taking care of the ball with smart play. It's been awhile since Ooltewah has been in a game this big, and frankly my friends, they are hungry. Who dares to step in the way of this force, this supernatural power that is taking over the state? Not I. Brainerd will learn tonight, count on that.
  7. I can't dunk but I could've made that layup.
  8. Once again, football's over. Get over it. Go to the football forums about that, we just won the BASKETBALL game.
  9. I agree. Don't whine about "elbows" and such when Central got the majority of the fouls to go to their advantage. Our fans weren't horrible, we always say nuts and bolts when repeated bad calls are made. I personally don't think a whole 2 seconds would have run off the clock from that last shot, it was as quick of a put back as can be made. It was a great game, don't take away from it with complaints about little things that happen in every game in high school sports. P.S. The post-game conflict has nothing to do with the result of the game, thats a whole different issue that would need to be addressed.
  10. That was actually an Ooltewah student's parent, making it even closer.
  11. I almost said hey to you tonight grad but I didn't know if there was hate there . I was standing right next to you.
  12. This was the best game at any level that I have ever seen. The lead changed more times than I can count from team to team. Both teams played awesome basketball and made very few mistakes. Ooltewah was up by 1 with 8 seconds left and merriman got fouled, making both free throws. Down by 1, Ooltewah takes the ball down the court with 5.1 seconds left, Sherman Moton throws up a last second one-handed shot on two people, and hits it. The whole gym piled onto the middle of the floor on top of sherman, and the Central fans stood there amazed. To be honest I thought we had lost, but Ooltewah came through in the big one this time, in the most amazing game I have ever seen.
  13. Ooltewah faces Central tonight at the Owl's Nest for the 3rd time this year. Each team has a win, and this game is the first round of the district tournament. Will Ooltewah bring their A game like the last meeting with Central? Will Ooltewah give up the big game like they've done many times this season? Will Central bring their inside game thats been inconsistent this year? All of these questions will be answered tonight, lets hear your opinions.
  14. Ooltewah played the worst game of the year against Cleveland the first time around, I don't think it will happen again with the new intensity they have pulled together. I say Ooltewah in an overtime win.
  15. Temple is outmatched in this game in almost every way. Brainerd by 20.
  16. It seems to me like Walker Valley sometimes runs out of gas in the end. If they could build up some stamina or depth they'd be a bigger force. Until then they rely too much on the early 3's.
  17. as much as i love college basketball this is getting pretty far off topic
  18. I think Kellen's loss is gonna cost them more than they expect, but they will edge out the win in a close one. Bradley by 5.
  19. Merriman is by no means overrated. That kid is good. He makes that team be as good as they are.
