  1. The Irishdad and Irishmom get my vote. Everything from them paying for post weighin meals my freshman year, to just offering water and support after every match my senior year. Irishdad helped to make the sport for me. I appreciate all of his time and every time he has stood up for us. Thanks for believing Mr. Mayo. Jakey
  2. Ryan's starting line up was hurting as well. Matt Morales was notified 45 minutes before the duals on friday that he could not weigh in at 140 for the tournament because he has "illeagally" been wrestling at 142 since the Ryan tourny. TSSAA just never caught it before. Kind of ridiculous if you ask me. Then in the CBHS match, Morales' back up was injured, causing Ryan to ajust again. Not an excuse for Ryan's lost, just some food for thought.
  3. I don't see anyone being able to call this match. It depends too much on the guys that haven't been the studs this year. Wirth emotions of pride running as high as they do for this type of rivalry, it is a big chance for those uncreditted ones to shine.
  4. instead of a battle royal...we need to have the winners of DI and the winners of DII compete in six day dance off, followed by a tickle fight between IRishdad and the Irishdad haters club.
  5. I do not think it would be far off to say that Dunning is in the same class as Phillip Simpson.
  6. does he have enough time to drop that much wieght with the only being able to drop x amount each week?
  7. I, for one, roll with the Purple Pride and I am proud to have Irish Dad support the Ryan program. Keep on fighting the good fight, buddy, and know that your comments are greatly appreciated by the TRUE Father Ryan fans. We love the IRISHDAD!!!

What about the D2 125 weight class? Bradly of MBA put on quite a showing so far this year. How is a kid from Braircrest, who he will never see until state, who also was teched in the first round by another non-ranked wrestler in last years state tourny, ranked so far ahead?
  9. Let us not forget that he has also teched the number one kid from GA...Dunning is yet to go six minutes this year.
  10. McCallie is the toughest tournament in the Southeast. Father Ryan is a tough tourny, Brentwood is not as tough as it seems. Just because Mater Dei rolls around does not make the tournement.
  11. Hiller vs. Simpson was always awesome to watch. From thier sophomore year at the Ryan tournament on, I never missed one of thier matches. Down to the last, very controversial match. The rivalry couldn't have gotten better.
  12. Let's get the DII guys going on these weight classes. I don't think (although I have not checked stats) that every placer graduated last year from these two classes. Is there no one to challenge 2nd place at 125...it's a bit open . Same goes for 130. That weight class seems a bit thin as well. Let's here some DII guys get there wrestlers up about these classes. What about the Young brothers?
  13. Yes, Baylor will be at the Collins Hill Duals this year. Father Ryan travels more than any team I've heard of in Tennessee, but that is just the way coach Simpson does things. He goes to where competition is. This works for him. However, coach Morgan tends to stay away from duals and tournaments that sport all of the big teams. He likes to keep his line up under cover until the state tournament. This works for him. Both him and Pat Simpson have numerous state and dual titles under their belts. Let us look at what is being bickered about on this thread. Two different coaching styles, two different coaches. Both have winning programs. Hmm....
  14. I did not mean to attack you, attackall3per., and if it seemed that way then my appologies. I just wanted to get the point across that Dunning would not duck anyone...except ducking them to their back
  15. Back to the point of this thread, Dunning ducking Manson. You say no one has worked harder than Manson? Dunning hasn't exactly been on the couch eating chips all year. It is almost certain that Dunning has worked just as hard, if not harder than Manson. Dunning is clearly not ducking Manson. He has nothing left to prove to the state. He's done it all on the state level with two state championships. Last year people talked in the same way about how Manson would beat up on Dunning. If I remember the closest their state finals match ever got was when the match started at 0-0. Dunning and Manson have wrestled four times now, I believe, and the score is 3-1 in favor of Dunning. Basically, you have nothing to back up your arguement with. Dunning is done with Manson. If Manson wants to regain back his status as being as talented of a wrestler as Dunning, then HE has to go and get him. It is all up to Manson. If he wants to challenge Dunning, then let him go after him. Dunning has nothing more to prove to anyone in state. Nationals wise....that's a different story...
