  1. Hey Tribepan, I will be at the game baring any unforseen tragedy. It would take a lot to keep me from watching the DB band ond two of the finest football teams in East Tennessee. You said that Coach Hutchins was feeling bad and he looked bad too. When has he ever looked good?
  2. Hey BUD, just wondering, I know that you guys have beaten a lot of teams very badly this year and that your band plays the war song on every kick off? Does the song ever get old. I personally have never gotten tired of hearing it and I have seen DB beat my team pretty bad. Does the band sell CD's of the war song, I love it.
  3. Having graduated from ETSU, I have eaten at Pal's many times. It is as good as has been told on this thread, but I think if I ate it before a football game I would hurl on the third play. I know you were joking though about them eating Pal's for pre-game, but I might just eat there for my pre-game meal. GO KEES!!!!!!! Hey Tribeman, I was glad to see your breakdown of who beat what teams in the 1930's and what their record was on games played after the first frost. Just Kidding, I am not trash talking but rather giving an OLD friend a razzing.
  4. I was not implying that they would get intimidated. I think they will use it to their benefit and let it get them pumped up. However, you will see how intimidating it can be if you let it. I have seen teams in the past get intimidated and be beaten before the snap. I have also seen teams get too fired up to quickly and do their best performances during pre-game, and I have seen teams go into DB and play football and come away with a win. If McMinn can control their excitement during pre-game, they will play very well because I think DB crowd and Band get both teams pumped up with their electricity. Hey Tribe coaches and players...just a word to the wise, let the atmospere get you geared up but hold that emotion until the whistle.
  5. Hey DB fans, When I watched DB play this season it was without Williams (foot injury). I know that he has been playing the past few weeks, but how is his foot recovering? Is it something that is going to require post season surgery, or is it already 100%. I know that a Williams who is about 70% is better than most teams number one receiver. Did he re-injure that food against Cambell Co? I do not mean to make it sound like he is all you have. Like I said, I saw DB without him and you guys looked pretty impressive, but I think it is safe to say that he is the main key for most defenses this year.
  6. I have been to several games at DB, sitting on the visitors side. I can honestly say that it is one of the most electifying atmosperes in high school sports. If the McMinn County fans and players let all of the hype get to them it will be a long night for the kees. However, if they allow that electicity to flow through them and just get pumped out of their minds, it could be one of those games talked about for years to come. DB is the only game that I look forward to, on my teams regular schedule, every year just to hear their band. Man, DB may have the best war song in all of sports (better than FSU). I think McMinn County players have enough swagger in their step to not get intimidated by the "walk" and just go and play ball. Sick or not...My prediction DB 27 MC 31 Go Kees
  7. What makes you so sure it will be DB in the quarterfinals. I know of several Cherokees who believe they have a pretty good chance to play in that game.
  8. As I said earlier, I have seen both DB and McMinn play this year. I can honestly say that this game will have a lot of athletes and just good players on the field for both sides. Ferguson, Flanery, Williams, and several others for DB. However, I think McMinn has just as many athletes and good players. I think the Big "MO" will be the deciding factor...Is it Friday Yet, I can't wait any longer.
  9. Hey DRDB...Please do not resort to the Kellen Winslow attitude and refer to DB's players as "troops." That is very disrespectful to the many U.S. Military men and women fighting and giving their lives for our country. I understand you have the right to say whatever you like, but please do not disrespect our troops by referring to a bunch of high school football players as "Troops."
  10. I think I am one of a few that has seen both DB and McMinn Co. play this season. I can tell you that both teams are very talented and both teams are very beatable. DB has a lot of speed but so does McMinn. McMinn is not as flashy as DB but they get the job done just as well. Both teams have showed tendencies to play bad and both teams have rellied in the second half to beat good teams. I do know that both Coach Clark and Coach Hutchins are both putting all of their resources into this game and not thinking about week 3. If both teams show up with their "A" game, it should be a barn burner. If one team brings thier "A-", they will lose. I am excited about watching this one. Does anyone have any information about the 13 McMinn starters who are sick with the flu. That was just a number thrown out and I was wondering if it were true. If so, get well soon and good luck to both teams. And guys (or girls), lets not trash talk about the game, these are kids 15-18 that are going to play their hearts out on Friday night. The fact that they have put so much time and effort into this season is reason enough to give both teams a lot of respect and praise. My prediction: DB 24 MC 28
  11. Hey tritefan, did you see what rip7 put on here. Does he know something that we don't. Back to our conversation...Are you crazy, you do not know the refs and I don't think that it is polite to talk about my family. Just because my family does not make sense to you does not mean you are better. But like my momma always said, "there are only two reason why people make fun of others, they are either jealous or afraid." So what is it tritefan, are you jealous of my truth telling or are you afraid of my wisdom and the fact that it will come true on thursday night when you are crying about the lose, and oh I almost forgot the weather. "I froze the last time we came to heritage." Grow up and face the cold like a man.
  12. Well, I would have to agree. I mean why should they practice, all they are doing is playing a team that has been the beneficiary of bad officiating. I have never seen a team have so much luck based on bad officials. If I was the coach, I would tell them to take the week off too because WB had the Kees whipped until the officials interferred and gave the Kees a chance to come back. Heritage gave the Govs all they wanted so they know they can whip McMinn and since the game is in Blount County, the refs will be decent and not one-sided. So yeah, take the week off, the Neers don't need to practice because the refs will be good. I would say that the only reason other teams have practiced the week befor they played McMinn is because they knew they had to find ways to beat the refs too. It is a game being played by kids and here goes McMinn getiing chating refs...pityful!
  13. hey Tritefan, why are you so worried about these two players who got ejected. If the Kees have so much speed and talent, why does it matter. Sounds to me like you are a little afraid of the Neers. You should be, my sister's ex-husband's new wife's nephew says that they are positive that they will win thursday night. No one-sided (McMinn) officiating this time. How will McMinn play when they have to do it all by themselves with no help from the refs? I don't think they can.
  14. I am not so sure about that prohscout. Hey by the way, do you work for that edgetalent that was on dateline the other night talking about scamming all of the high school athletes. I sure hope not because that sounded like a real rip off. I think Coach Hutchins did a decent job of rebounding from a poor start but McMinn really just got some lucking breaks or Bradley would have won that game. I think even Tritefan would agree that of McMinn's seven wins this year, six of them have been based on luck (I will give you McMinn Central). However, I think the luck will run out for the Kees on thursday night in Blount County. Do you not agree Tritefan. Just tell the truth.
  15. Hey Tritefan, I just talked to my sister's ex-husband's new wife and she said that her nephew is so pumped about this thursday night that he can hardly sleep. They are calling this game "The Shock Heard Round The Region." Pretty cool huh. Just thought you would like a heads up on what you had in store for you...a Mountaineer beating. No trick plays needed...just line up and smash you in the mouth. Just hope you Kees can stick around for the second half. Later Tritefan.
  16. Well, at least my girlfriend and I get to go on our vacation. However, I do not see why you are so joyful, you all just happened to have an experienced team this year and everyone else was rebuilding. Anyway, just to let you know, my sister's ex-husband's new wife's nephew plays for Heritage and I called him this weekend to wish him a happy 16th birthday. He was pretty fired up about how well they played WB. He said that WB had the Kees all but whipped and then they quit playing hard and the Kees capitalized on bad officiating. They know that they had the Govs beat until the tragic extra-point. So, they are more than confident that they can whip the Kees and that there will not be bad officiating that will allow you guys to get back in the ball game. You better watch out Mr. Tritefan. Here come the Mountaineers!!!
  17. Without a doubt, Heritage pulls the big upset on thursday night. They have nothing to lose and everything to gain. I have watched both teams play Bradley and i can tell you that Heritage looks awfully good. I know that we lost to McMinn and beat Heritage but I think it is going to be the upset of the region.
  18. Hey Tribefan, You are talking like someone scared. I think you are hiding behind some sort of shortcoming in your life (maybe lack of football talent). I am not sure I just know that the Bears are going to be dancing in the endzone everytime they get the ball. Unless they put in their cheerleaders because they have not learned these trick plays yet.
  19. Well HHSMom, I like your opinion and have tried to the same with my girlfriends son at Bradley. Tritefan sure has a chip on his shoulder. Maybe that is because he knows that Ratledge has McMinn's number this year and these plays are going to be magical.
  20. Hey hhsmom, I was at the game last friday night and I did some questionable calls but in my opinion they were judgment calls that could have gone either way. If I would have been on your side, I probably would have felt the same way. However, this week we could have the best refs in the state and the game will still be a blowout. Coach Ratledge has gotten some trick plays from a coaching friend in Nevada and they are fool proof. These are the kind of plays that would make the show "Funniest Home Video's" because the Kees will be running around like chickens with their heads cut off while the Bears will be dancing in the endzone. I bet the Bears win by 35 points or more. Call me crazy but you just wait and see these plays.
  21. I keep seeing you talk and it makes me laugh out loud like some crazy guy. However, just knowing that you are going to be sitting in the stands on friday night with the look of terror when the Bears are up 21-0 in the first makes me laugh even harder. You just cannot comprehend how awesome the trick plays are. No one could comprehend them until you see them for yourself. They are the most incredible thing I have ever seen. Coach Ratledge must have gotten these from some genius and he has put them in at the perfect time. There is just no way for McMinn to prepare for them. Wish I could see your face on friday night: oh well, I will be smiling just picturing it.
  22. I thought this thread was about McMinn and Bradley, not Tribefan's infactuation with Rip7. Are you sure that your name should not be tritefan. Anyway, back to the game. Bradley beats McMinn in just about every sport every year. I do not understand why tritefan is talking so much trash. I know that you guys have beaten Bradley for the past few years but every year is different and this Black Friday is going to be very special. I cannot wait for all the McMinn County fans to see these trick plays. They are so awesome that the whole town is buzzing about "The Big Shocker on Black Friday," as we are calling down here in Bear Country. These plays are like nothing I have ever seen: I mean, McMinn will think there are thirteen or fourteen Bradley players on the field. I wish it were Friday night and I wish I could find Tritefan after the game so I can say "I tried to warn you but you would not listen." Get ready Kees cause the Bears are hungry
  23. A kickin' coach? More like a coach they should be kickin'. If coach Hutchenson has any association with this Tribefan he should be run out of town for having bad judgment. Do you know this coach Hutchenson? He seems like a pretty good coach, I mean he did beat Cleveland and that makes him ok in my book. However, his number one goal should not be to beat Bradley this week but rather to find out who this tribefan is and let his team knock some sense into the guy. I was about 50/50 on who i wanted to win on Black Friday but all I have to say about the game now is...Go Bears!
  24. Tribefan, the only crack that is going to be smokin' on Black Friday is the crack of Bradley's tackles when our running backs fly by them so fast. And to answer the question as to why these trick plays have not been used until now...coach Ratledge just got them about three weeks ago from a coaching buddy in Nevada and he has not tried to use them until this week because of one reason...BLACK FRIDAY!!! And tribefan, I do not know who the kicking coach is at McMinn and therefore mean no disrespect but he is not a very good coach or at least it does not show. On kickoffs, the kicker does put some in the endzone but that is just because he has a strong leg. I have not been impressed with McMinn's kicking game at all. That is by far the weakest of the three teams at McMinn. I would give the defense a 95 so far this year, the offense an 83, and the kicking game a 72...Not because of the kickers ability but just because you can tell everything he has he has gotten on his own.
  25. Hey Tribefan, I would not dare take the field against McMinn. How embarrassing for the Kees to have an old man return a punt for ninety yards or return a kick for a TD. That would really be a black Friday. As a matter of fact, I told my wife's son about what you wrote about packing my bags and he said that I should go ahead and cancel. He said that these trick plays will score at least four touchdowns and 28 points will be plenty enough to beat McMinn. However, coach Ratledge told the boys yesterday that he thinks they can score at least three touchdowns on special teams alone. The way I see it, McMinn is already down 49 to nothing. Go Bears!!!
