  1. I just got word that JT Farrell's lung collapsed in practice. He is at Sumner Reginal over night, but that is all the info i have right now. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family, and hopefully a speedy recovery.
  2. #11 got ran over by #52, he did not like it so he took up boxing and puched the big guy
  3. Gwave1 and others, I have been out of the loop and really am excited about the season starting. Can someone fill me in on what has been happening with the team. Camp? How are we looking? Injuries? Any sophomores or juniors stepping up? Who are the senior leaders? Any information of interest before the jamboree Thursday? I noticed in the prospects the only one listed is Jay R. Harper. He is truly a great player, but I know we have more talent on the team than him. What about other players? Who is responsible for putting that information in? This is the year we have all been looking forward to! I can barely sit still waiting for the start of the season Thursday.
  4. To say our team is improving would be a considerable understatement. The offensive line came together today and we were able to produce yards against Sevier County and McCallie (a three-way scrimmage). I am amazed at the differences I have seen as the week is progressing! Defensively, they were just outstanding! With the exception of one touchdown pass by McCallie our defense really made a stand. I believe altogether we had about 3 sacks. I was very impressed! Fisher, Lauderdale, and Kemper are all back in the line up. I can sense that the team is really starting to stick together! They are unified and disciplined! I am proud to be a Green Wave Fan!!!!
  5. Well our Wave looked a bit more mighty today. They only had the morning practice with Sevier County, and then the coach gave them the remainder of the day to rest. I am sure it had something to do with the numerous injuries that continue to plague us. It seemed to me that today they looked a bit more cohesive as a unit. It is my understanding that Dontaye Hall and J. R. Harper will return on Monday. Tomorrow they only have an evening practice, but I am anxiously awaiting Monday. I know that this is a learning experience for them, and it is giving guys that have never played at the varsity level valuable experience that will be beneficial when the season starts. From Chattanooga, 12 days to showtime!!!
  6. As someone has already mentioned, this morning practice was with Powell and mostly the young guys. This evening was with McCallie. The scrimmage was pretty much controlled by McCallie. The goal line was more evenly matched. I saw some improvement from yesterday, but we still have a lot of work to do. Injuries: same as yesterday, except Lauderdale came back, and now include J.T. Kemper and J.T. Ferrell.
  7. Gwave, My reports are under a new topic... Green Wave Football Mc Callie Camp Check there for more news tonight...
  8. Gwave and other Gallatin fans, I am afraid our mighty Wave team did not look very mighty today. Gallatin scrimmaged Powell in the morning, and Powell was able to control the game on both sides of the football. When they wanted to throw... they completed, and when they wanted to run... they did. When Gallatin wanted to throw... they didn't complete, and when they wanted to run... they couldn't. In the evening they scrimmaged McCallie and did look improved from the morning practice. However, I was still disappointed. We have been looking forward to this year for a long time. We have watched this team grow and mature, and I was really thinking this year would be golden. Do not get me wrong; I know these are the first scrimmages of the season, and we will continue to grow, but today was a real let down for me. I still have faith that the coaching staff will pull this team together, and by the end of this camp, we will start showing our true capabilities. Injured players that started last year were numerous and may be a contributing factor to the performance today. On that list: Dontaye Hall, Rusty Fisher, Spencer Steelman, Spencer Lauderdale, and J.R. Harper. I am leaving some off, but I think those were the ones that had started last year. There were about 10 walking around that were not dressed. I sure am looking forward to a better day tomorrow.
  9. Gwave, I for one am ready for the season. The last I heard, Gleaves had knee surgery, but is back in practice. Who was it that gave us camp updates last year? I will be spending some time there this time and will try to help with some of those updates. The countdown to Green Wave Football 2005 has begun!
  10. Gwave, Tell us what else you know.....
  11. Lassiter did make some changes in the personnel last week, but they were either the wrong changes or not enough!
  12. I sure hope the Wave is up to the task. All depends on how bad they want it. Maybe the couple of losses will make them want it more. Hopefully, the coaches will do some rearranging in the play calling that will give them a shot.
  13. Biggreen, From your mouth to the coach's ears!!! Wavelink101, It isn't only playing four quarters, but the play calling needs to open up the passing game earlier... Gville80 and Biggreen, Thanks for backing me up about the senior players!! thumb I think it is time that we focus on this week's game. It is going to be a tough battle. So much at stake for both teams. So, who is going to start the new thread? GO GREEN WAVE!!!
  14. GWave1, I have also watched the sophomores since middle school. You are correct in stating that group is loaded with talent. I have watched the seniors since middle school as well. They also performed quite well in middle school on. We have lost a few of those guys since their freshmen class. However, just a few of those guys started varsity ball until this year. Maybe that is the reason the coaches are trying to get in as many sophomores as possible for the experience. I am just saying give the seniors their shot. They could let the seniors start and then put the sophomores in. Just seems to me they are overlooking some of those seniors in an effort to give the sophomores experience. I have no problem with a sophomore starting over the senior if they are truly the better player. But, I have watched some of these guys in practice and can't tell much difference athletically. The seniors have been there longer, given the program more time, and probably want it more, because it is their last chance. Wavelink101, I am a strong supporter of Lassiter as a person. I know when his kids are in turmoil he goes the extra mile to help them, including when the Clark boy was in the hospital. But, I don't have to like the plays he calls. And, since I am not a coach I am able to vent about that on CoachT. As far as the coaches not supporting the players I am referring also to some of the comments that have been made on the Saturday morning coaches show, and I am not necessarily referring to Lassiter's comments. We are all entitled to our own opinion of how things appear. That is why I am thankful I can vent on CoachT. We are going to have to change some things to get those next two wins and earn our playoff berth. In addition, Ben Miller isn't the only sophomore I look forward to seeing for the next couple of years. There are quite a few guys on that team I am keeping my eyes on: Glover, Fisher, Manning, Harper, Jones, Bell etc. Lots of these players have a real chance at going further with their football careers.
