  1. Thats a pretty good report then if they were missing players. Thanks for the info. Yea I was looking at their schedule. Cavs could very well start out 1-2 or even 0-3 . Pickett county at their gym will be a tough game.
  2. how is the pre-season going for everyone? I agree with LadyCavsFan. It will be a 2 horse race and those games will be fun between CHS and Lebanon.
  3. lot of positive talk around the community about this year's Cookeville squad. Seems like they are still maybe a year away with a bunch of talented sophomores and freshmen. But who knows? Maybe they can play above their age and make some noise. How is everyone's pre-season going? I saw where Cookeville played Brentwood and Blackman in a playday last week but I don't know any scores.
  4. District 9AAAA media day. Seems pretty cool. Hard to hear at times but it could give you an idea of what everybody has. Girls teams also in the video.
  5. I don't care one way or another here, I mean I have loved having the games in Cookeville and I think our town really took pride in it. But... I want to make one thing clear here. We , in Cookeville, consider us a part of MIDDLE TN. We are central time zoned, we get our news/weather out of Nashville. Bash us all you want, but I wanted to let it be known!!!! lol.
  6. I have no doubt it would have been if the tssaa wasn't changing everything by going to 4 classes and redrawing districts!
  7. and to think.... my young cavaliers were 1 point away. Good luck to Cleveland and Warren Co tonight
  8. haha. Good point. No, in reality I'd love a 6AAA sweep. I know it won't happen tho. Wouldn't that be the upset of the century tho? Warren county taking down the big bad bearettes?
  9. Glad to see we've turned the corner and at least we can agree on the Vegas Steakhouse. Personally, I'm rooting for all of 6AAA to win Friday night...... except for sparta , can't possibly pull for them to win. Good luck to all, but especially Warren co, they will need it the most
  10. lol . go get something to eat at the vegas steakhouse
  11. as long as you are happy with it. thats all i care about big JET4L!!!! We will see who keeps scheduling us as we move forward. I've noticed CCHS has stopped playing us reg. scheduled games. Shame. We used to be "rivals". Lets see if stone or white county want to keep playing ....
  12. tell ya what.... why dont you make out Cookeville's schedule. Go ahead, write down who it is you would like us to play. I'll pass it along. I'm just here to help! Lets make everyone happy in this thread!! I'll personally bring fans the next time we play stone memorial and i'll make sure we have mystery machines and ice at the ready.
  13. Doug? Interesting development.
  14. lol. I love this thread. It just keeps on giving. "the ac came on to start cooling the gym" haha. there was a vote on the least respected school in the district? I must have missed that news. You the AD? Haters gonna hate.
  15. lol... this is getting better by the minute. The mystery machine... what is this? Scooby Doo?
  16. haha. Yes... this is a plausible theory. I bet the trainer went to coach Gillies with a scoop. T: "Hey, one of their players really needs this piece of equipment tonight. What do you want me to do, make it disappear?" CG: " Yes, why would I want this game to be fair? Of course I want to sabotage this teenager for the sake of winning a game. Make sure you get rid of it. No.... better yet, break it and say , sorry, I don't know what happened to it!!!!
  17. You are really bad at math. "2000 more kids than stone" . -Ive addressed the trainer non issue. Believe whatever stupidity you want. -It wasn't my place to prob a door open. Why didnt you? edit - *prop
  18. People will believe anything.... If you think that CHS coaches have any say so whatsoever with the athletic trainers they are provided with, then you are sadly mistaken. They are contracted out through a private company and often differ from year to year. LOL at you thinking the LadyCavs were "trying to gain an advantage" with that. The school had issues with the storm. Pipes busted because of power outage, so I was told the school was trying to warm up the building Sunday and Monday. I remarked at the heat as well when I walked in and that is what I was told. Again... acting like this was any control of anybody having ties to the team is ignorance. So thats 2 things taken care of. Someone mentioned 6-7 things , so I'm still waiting. Lotta rent free living in this thread. Funny that the Jets chimed in outta nowhere, lol
  19. I mean... saying you shot it bad isn't blaming it on other people is it??? Maybe edit your post, just trying to help you out champs!!
  20. Please.... elaborate for me. As for the announcer, get over it. He didn't lie, Lady Cavs were district champions. Its at CHS, you think he is going to try to pump up the other team or their fans? Do you also expect him to be as loud and proud when your team scores as he is when CHS scores? You must have a pretty good life to be worried about that. Great game by both teams and congratulations to Stone. They deserved it.
  21. Well, I knew the young cavs were talented. What a great win last night over the sparta warriors! Slatten was great as usual, but CHS did just enough to make it hard on him. It appears as if Warren Co is in the drivers seat, controlling their own destiny to the number 1 seed. Alot is yet to be determined tho as mathematically there are still alot of scenarios that can play out. Hope Cookeville can stay hot on the road Friday night up at Stone! Go Cavs!
  22. thats all well and good. But Cookeville has played good defensive teams before and not looked that sluggish. Congrats on the win.
  23. Impressive win last night for Lady Cavs. Hats off to the coaching staff who obviously had the girls ready to play. 2-0.... lookout. Miller was a stud as usual. Tough matchup is an understatement but our girls fought as hard as they could. The refs were pitiful. Both ways IMO. It was obvious even online that the Stone crowd and coaches thought the whistle was in CHS favor but I would argue that it really wasn't as much one sided as it just was bad. It was the same way in the boys game.
  24. Hate to hear that. Hope he recovers quickly Cookeville absolutely played terrible tonight in a loss to Stone. I don't think they can beat many people playing that way. Probably shot 30% or worse as well , which doesn't help matters. I know we are young, but 0-2 is a tough way to start with Warren Co up next!
  25. Late getting here but my thoughts on the Sparta/CHS game -Slatten was as good as I've ever seen around the Upper Cumberland. That is some high praise, but he was that good Friday night. Hats off to him. -Interested in any info on the two players missing from the game. Nash from WCHS and Ayers from CHS. The broadcaster was unclear or didn't know why these two weren't playing. I think they clearly both missed their respective guards. -Heard was good for CHS. Shot the ball really well and handled it too. -CHS had way too many turnovers. Other than that, I thought they played well. Had a chance to tie it late in the 4th quarter at the line but missed 2 out of 3. It should be another great game the next time they play. I'm not sure anyone thought Cookeville would be this far along at this point. Clearly they have 2 stud freshmen, with a couple more playing big minutes on the bench. But the play of their seniors and junior Oakley down low has been a bright spot. Will be interesting to see if they can win one at home tonight vs a Stone team picked ahead of them.
