  2. AUSTIN-EAST HIGH SCHOOL "ROADRUNNERS" 8/29 - WEBB 9/5 - FULTON 9/12 - @ Howard 9/19 - @ Loudon 9/26 - BRAINERD 10/3 - LENIOR CITY 10/10 - @ Gibbs 10/17 - ANDERSON COUNTY 10/24 - @ Scott County 10/31 - @ Kingston
  3. The spread poses problems for many defenses. It is important to understand what each team likes to do out of the spread. Determine what are the bread and butter plays are and stop them first. Force the offense to go to their secondary attack. Do not sell out to stop the pass. You must stop the run first. Force the offense to throw the football. Now you can attack the offense with different pressure looks and coverage packages. A 3-3 scheme is nice here because it provides you with lots of blitz options. Disguise your coverages - show man and play zone. Zone blitz can be very effective as well. However, once you begin to use pressure - be ready for the screen and draws.
  4. anyone know what kind of supplement the head coach makes at Alcoa in addition his teacher pay?????
  5. Demarcus Stevens from Fulton will be tough to stop this year.
  6. enjoy it now because the run will end and eventually Maryville will find itself on the other end. I always thought Maryville was a class organization. GQ is a very classy and HUMBLE guy. As more and more Maryville fans get on the board, I find not as many have those same traits as GQ. The long term posters like rebelron have class, but Maryville should be ashame of their new posters. Louden Co.

Coach Daniels was loved in Loudon. Give him time and he will do well at Red Bank. Before he got to Loudon, they couldn't line up.
  10. I agree that the veer is harder to defend than the wing-T. Every wing-T team does different things with the offense. You have to decided what they do best and take that away whether it is the buck, belly, sally, jet, or power sweep. Usually, when you take away the bread and butter, the offense will struggle to find an identity.
  11. Nighttrainlane - if the wing-T is so unstoppable, why are you changing to a multiple I offense next year. meet me at the HoJo and we'll talk about it

    Alcoa Job

I think the problem is that he is not offically retiring. Because he has so many sick days, he will teach another year but be sick everyday if you know what I mean. This prevents the system from hiring a replacement. They will have to have a year long sub. He teaches PE

    Alcoa ??

What is happening with the head position in Alcoa???
  20. This is the kind of job Rankin has been waiting for. He has looked and waited for a top Georgia job to open up. Not sure if he will get it, but I am sure he will try. Best of luck to you Gary.
  21. you must have in college for three years before turning pro for the NFL. the few sophomores who have left early have been redshirt sophomore, the redshirt year counts as one of the three years. word is that Jamal Lewis had contacted a lawyer to make his case about leaving early after his true sophomore year, but he blew he his knee and the rest is history. And yes, there is an age clause that would have allowed Kelly to be drafted after only one year.

    All KFL??

usually around or on Christmas day
  23. Cory Kennebrew of Austin-East deserves some credit in this thread. He is an extremely verstile player, playing DE, LB and some safety on defense. On offense he plays RB, TE, and WR. He tied for the KIL lead in sacks (10) during regular season. He lead in yards per carry (13.something). He was also a special teams force, blocking a total of 5 kicks on the year. Great all round player. He never got the pub of some of the other guys, but he deserves it.
