  1. Livingston Academy should be the favorite in District 8AA and Region 4AA.
  2. Livingston Academy is playing at Siegel on Nov. 7 and at Harpeth on Nov. 14. Not sure of the Siegel schedule, but at Harpeth LA plays Clarksville NE, CPA, and Creekwood.
  3. No system is going to be perfect. Isn't this ALL about money that TSSAA is or isn't making? I see good points about the way it is now and all the suggestions you guys have made here. Attendance was better for the girls state tournament than it was for the boys, right. The bottom line is that in general, the more rural teams, even in boys, bring better crowds. The crowd for the boys finals was terrible. Look where the teams were from that were playing. There is not going to be a simple answer.
  4. Little brother is Mason Ramsey. Logan is a sophomore and Mason is a freshman. He's about 6'5 and can play inside or outside...a very good three point shooter.
  5. LA finished the summer at I think 28-1. I know winning in the summer doesn't mean that much, but that's impressive considering losing so many seniors. The last game was a great one. LA came from 14 down to defeat Hillsboro on a last second tip in. The big kid from Hillsboro is a beast. They're pretty impressive. Keep working LA.
  6. Well, LA is playing at TTU. While every team has to deal with fatigue, rotation of lots of players to look at combinations, and up and down play with three or more games a day, LA is still winning. They played pretty bad and won close games against Jefferson County and Morristown West, then beat Unicoi County pretty comfortably. Today LA's play improved somewhat as they defeated Walker Valley by about 30, then easily beat a not very good Hiwassee Dam NC team. Then in one of the better games I've seen this summer, defeated a very athletic McEachern GA team. I think that puts them at 26-1 this summer. I think they're gonna surprise many people.
  7. Camp is 18th, 19th, and 20th. Besides LA, who will be there?
  8. I think we're in agreement. The Fulton game was never close. The Bolivar game was close until the last minute or two. No one is more aware of how big it would be to advance to the state semis than LA. Their disappointment, although they were so successful, was overwhelming. This summer LA is 21-1. They've beaten Bradley Central, Walker Valley, Middleton, Adamsville, McNairy Central, Rhea County twice, Stone Memorial, White County, York, Northwest GA, Scotts Hill, Knox West, Ripley MS, Cumberland County, Red Bank, Polk County, and a couple more. I wasn't bragging on them, just saying that it looks like they're gonna be deep and hard to beat again. Lots of new guys stepping up and one of the biggest teams around at 6'8, 6'5, 6'4, 6'4, 6'3 and some really good shooters. However, they are really young with 3 seniors and 3 juniors and 10 sophomores and freshmen. Looks like some young guys will get some pt.
  9. Not sure why you have to take such a stab, but you do make a good point. Bolivar led by 5 with 4 minutes to go and LA kinda collapsed at the end. It was a 20 point win but the game was much closer. But the end IS what matters. Hard to beat??? Ask the team, Northeast, that ended Bearden's run how hard LA was to beat. You gotta play every game tho and LA's players just haven't shown up when they get to the boro. LA knows that. Imagine how hard they'll try to fix that. But in the end you're right. LA has come up three games short of a gold ball the last two years. I wasn't bragging when I said that LA was gonna be hard to beat. That was based on the teams they've already beaten this summer. So it's not that insulting to LA fans for you to basically say 'Yeah but you got beat in the state tournament'. This team will not overlook anyone i'm sure and will work very hard to get back and win that first round. You never know how its gonna play out. Actually, LA has more to 'brag' about than, lets see, all but 7 other schools in AA for two years. True LA fans are proud of that. Just out of curiosity though Pman, who is your team and how did they end up the last couple of years? If they played LA, how'd they do?
  10. LA is gonna be hard to beat
  11. LA finished the Stone camp today with 20+ point wins over Cumberland County, York, and Rhea County. They will be at Tech on the 18th, 19th, and 20th.
  12. LA is playing at Stone Memorial today and tomorrow. Today they beat Clarkrange by about 20, Stone Memorial by bout 15, and White County by about 25. LA's JV defeated Stone Memorial and Rhea County. Once again, LA is playing lots of people in different combinations.
  13. Livingston Academy is going to four camps for a total of 10 days. I guess they use 5 days for practice? I don't know. I do know how they did at Cleveland the last two days... They won all their games, beating Northwest GA by about 10, Polk County by about 40 subbing about every two minutes, Red Bank by 10, Walker Valley by 12, Bradley Central by 10, and Rhea County by about 20. I know that winning isn't everything at camp, but this team has really improved this week and has a lot of potential. They are very young, playing about 9 or 10 deep. A lot of kids are playing who've never really played before. If they continue to improve and gain experience, this group will be hard to handle again. Great job LA. Keep working hard. Also, great job to LA's JV team. They also won all games, defeating Cleveland, Northwest GA, Bradley Central, Knox West, and Rhea County.
  14. LA went 7-1 at McNairy. Lost to Tupelo. Won over Middleton, Adamsville, USJ, Scotts Hill, McNairy, Ripley MS. Goes to Cleveland tomorrow. Scheduled to play Polk County, Cleveland, Bradley Central, Walker Valley, Northwest, and Rhea County. With LA's youth, this will be tough.
  15. I agree. I guess coaches can't know who's gonna be at camp. I do know that LA played Bolivar a couple summers ago at McNairy Central. And Tupelo has a good team. You're right about the other teams. LA only has a couple players with significant experience so they're trying new guys and combinations. They will be good again. Lots of size and combinations will make them hard to match up with. LA's JV only lost one as well... to Tupelo. And they are all freshmen. So good showing for them as well. I thought Adamsville looked pretty good against LA especially for a single A team. They were quick and had some good shooters. LA only played one guy in the second half of that game with any experience from last year. Good experience for those guys. Scotts Hill has some talent and size. I think they could be good, but they need to play more basketball and leave all the other junk at home.
  16. Livingston Academy went 7-1. Lost a close one to Tupelo. Wins over Adamsville, McNairy Central, Ripley MS, Middleton, Scotts Hill, TCA, and USJ. As I'm sure most do at camp, LA is playing a lot of people in a lot of combinations. At times they were very young, only playing freshmen and sophomores. At times they looked very good, and at times looked very young.
  17. Lets talk about how teams look at summer camp. Where is your team? How do they and their opponents look? I'll get it started... LA is at McNairy Central and Cleveland next week. Then to Stone Memorial and TTU.
  18. Actually, LA lost 5 seniors. They now have 3 seniors and 3 juniors, 4 sophomores, and 5 freshman. That's a pretty young team. But you're right. A true leader needs to step forward.
  19. Can't wait to see LA's schedule for next year. I guarantee you it will be one of the toughest in the state. They may be younger than this year and may lose a few games. But LA will be very good by the end of the season. Lots of experience back with a load of talent coming in. Can't wait.
  20. LA has won the last 5 district tourneys. Should be able to repeat again.
  21. I've seen both play and Unicoi wasn't as good as Livingston. Yes Bolivar was quicker than LA but, believe it or not, LA has played two of their worst games the last two years in the state tournament. LA has played the speed and beaten it. But it is all about matchups. LA thumped Northeast twice. Then Northeast beats Bearden in the boro. It's all confusing really.
  22. What a ridiculous statement. Its ridiculous because you don't understand the other side. The only thing you see is getting blown out. I will say good things about Cannons and Dekalbs coaches. They do a good job and work hard. But to put down LA's and Uppermans coaches is stupid. I know that LAs coach has cleared his bench in the FIRST half of more than one district game this year. LA could have scored 100-150 points many times this year but Melton decided not too i guess. You think its been bad? It could have been much worse! WHat's wrong with teaching the young players how to run the press a little bit in the 4th. Has LA and Upperman won big? Yes. Could it have been worse? MUCH. Dekalb County girls are probably going to be on top of the district one day too. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  23. 8 deep is a bit of a short change......
  24. Dunn needs 114 to tie. 115 makes him LA's all-time scoring leader.
