loudon

Loudon has started the year 2-1 playing with mainly freshamn and sophomores. they lost to carter by 20 but it was close most of the way. carter scored 11 points in the final minute to pull away. they played a few football players about 5 minutes last night in a win over sweetwater. the football players to my knowledge have not even practiced with the team yet. i think about every skill player from football will be playing basketball this year. a total of about 12 football players

If i am not mistaken, Everetts pitch count never stopped about 127. If you all have ever seen this kid work, he makes a quick out of hitters (most of the time) and he keeps his pitch count low. I guess when you throw in the 90s and upper 80s you can get away with that. Coach Thompson also has another gun in his cabinet and its not like he doesnt have the pitching to get through, im sure everett was in the game because he was assured he was good for it.

Oh man that is awful....... isnt there a complaint process? Surely with that being a sub state game, someoen has it on video that they can look at right? I just feel awful for that girls, i know if it would have happend to mine i would have been rather upset at the host for not getting that basket.

The above post is correct regarding the cherokee teams. They will be permitted to play on saturday at carpenters middle. The games will be at 3, and 4:15. In the championship games tonight, sweetwater boys and girls both won their games to become champions. I have to hand it to sweetwater, they handled themselves in a very professional manner. Congratulations.

Tonights semi final action went as followed: Cherokee Boys lost to the Sweetwater boys in a close game. Cherokee Girls lost to the Heritage Girls in what seemed to never be close. Athens Jr High beat William Blount in boys. The number one seed Carpenters girls fell in an upset to Sweetwater as well. The Cherokee teams were really in a no win situation, if they were to have won tonight, they would have to forfeit the next round (championship) due to not being in school. That would have been a tough situation for those teams, and i have to wonder if the kids didnt realize their season was over regardless of a win or loss. The awful thing was that if they even forfeited tomorrows games had they won tonight, they couldnt have hosted the play in game on saturday. This flu bug has made these tournaments a thing of mystery, i have a feeling that alot of the better teams arent in it because they have been affected in some shape or form by the flu bug. There will be only 2 games at North Middle tomorrow..... THe championships on each side..... Sweetwater girls versus a very good Heritage Team, and THe Athens Boys against Sweetwater as well. These games will start at 4:30 and 5:45.

Even though the latest flu outbreak has closed down loudon county schools, the tournament will go on as planned. The following schools will be in action tomorrow night starting at 4:30. William Blount Boys, Cherokee Boys and Girls, Sweetwater Boys and Girls, Athens Boys, Carpenters Girls, Heritage Girls The games will begin at 4:30 on wednesday and the championship round will be played on thursday.

As posted above, athens beat carpenters in boys action last night, as also sweetwaters girls beat william blounts girls. The other boys game was a close one, as william blount beat north by 4. the games have been rescheduled yet again due to illness in teh area, the tournament will be finished on wednesday and thursday of next week.

area 4 large school division tourney has been postponed due to illness in teh loudon county school system. The tourney will start on thursday with first round games starting at the regular scheduled time. The area 4 large division tournament kicks off on monday january 31 at north middle school in lenoir city. The participating schools are as follows: North Middle Sweetwater Jr High Athens Jr High Carpenters Middle William Blount Middle Heritage Middle Cherokee Middle Games will be played on monday, tuesday, thursday and the championships and third place games will be played on friday. Good luck to all teams.

The game last night was very fun to watch. I thought Loudon played with alot of emotion and kinda took LC out of their tempo. However, all Loudon and Lenoir City games are toss ups no matter what is going on. The kids just play with so much emotion, they forget about records and just play the game. The true measure for each program will be on down the line when you take the rivarly out of the equation and the district schedule hits the home stretch.

who did maryville lose to?

Hey guys, had a couple questions about the old tartan floors that were installed in the 70s as a cost efficient and safe replacement for wood. I am trying to find out for one, if the lines and logos on the court are painted into the rubber or if they are taped deep down under the seals. The reason i am asking is that our middle school is looking at adding some graphics to our court, (ie, center circle, etc) and kinda want to know what is going to be involved. Also, if any of you fellow coaches have ever had to replace a tartan floor with wood, do you have a cost figure? i would really appreciate it. Thanks.
