In 2006 when they won the state was probably Sisco's best coaching job..They lost 9 games that year...Humboldt was probably the best team in the state that year...Humboldt beat UC three of four that season...Again showing your lack of knowledge...

ucdiditagain.....Who is this Mills team UC is playing in Poplar Bluff??..Ive seen a couple of brackets but it doesn't say where Mills is..They have UC in the same bracket as Poplar Bluff who UC has beaten the last two years...

NW corner of the state....In Obion County...Union has to do with the railroads crossing in the city..... I saw where the Stallings kid hit 8 3-pointers for 29 points against Haywood County last nite....

The Union City players do their talking on the floor as well....

Better not go to sleep on Paducah Tighlman,Ky...The Blue Tornado has already beaten Mem Briarcrest in the Marshall County Hoop Fest this year.....They are very athletic and are coming off a Sweet 16 appearance at Rupp Arena last year...

Where would you put them in the region next season with all those young players??...

What in the world is the Manassas coach thinking playing 6 games in 6 days??.... I'll have to say it's a killer schedule..

CoachT scoreboard had DC losing to White County last nite 75-71...Is that not true??....

I wouldn't say Dyer County is the best team in West Tennessee but White County is an undefeated AAA team and to lose away from home by 4 points isn't bad considering DC is AA.... I don't know alot about Livingston Academy....I know they have a good record...I hear they like to try and run....That would be playing right into UC's hands as the Tornadoes want to run all the time....It should be a good game...UC might have to play without one of the better players on the team but they didn't have him the majority of time last night....Sycamore was a gritty team...UC was on the verge of blowing them out of the arena a couple times...UC had gone up 59-42 with the aid of seven three pointers in about a five minute span of the third quarter but Sycamore battled to keep it managable....Sycamore did cut the lead to 8 points in the fourth quarter because UC missed the front ends of three one and ones...UC started holding the ball with about 5 minutes to go in the game...Anyone close to the program knows that is not an opportunity the Tornadoes have very often,so that was good practice for later on...They just need to hit those free throws..Had they hit them last night it would have been a wider margin than the eventual 10 point win...Sycamore hit a three at the buzzer to cut it to 10...UC hit 16 threes last nite which was 2 off the school record of 18...Nik Brooks hit 6 of them and MJ Brown hit 5...Ryne Simpson gave UC a big boost in the third quarter when he hit 4 threes.... UC is due a big offensive game...I would feel alot more comfortable with Tony Wilkins in there though...I'll predict UC will win the Battle for the State tournament with a 85-77 win today over Livingston Academy with MJ Brown winning the tourney MVP....

More like the Ridgemont Mafia... /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> It's not as easy to transfer anymore...You don't just stroll up in there and tell them you are transferring...We found that out real quick... I just wonder how long folks at OC will leave Driggers alone especially after a 0-10 season..... Talking about coach Decker...I know his wife is coaching the boys freshman basketball team...I saw them a couple of weeks ago when D-Burg came to OC to play the freshman and JV team....Their son would be a nice addition to the basketball team if they did come back...I think he would be eligible right off,unlike mine...My son would not be eligible for football at all next year(he is not going to play anyway)and he won't be eligible for varsity basketball until Nov.28 of next season...He will miss five or six games probably...

Lucas Taylor,Demonte Bolden,Rico McCoy are the starters and Chris Donald,Ricardo Kemp and Kenny O'Neal were the others.....

Middleton will have it tough...They will play Manassas three and probably four times and then have to get by either Union City,Humboldt or Lake County to get to Murfreesboro....Two years ago UC beat them in Middleton in sub-state play to end their defense of a state championship and then Humboldt beat them in Humboldt last season in sub-state....

Well the CoachT scoreboard has Middleton winning 55-54...If that's the case then it must have been an exciting game...Middleton is a good squad...Tough to come as far as Middleton had to come and play in a hostile enviroment and win...Coach Smalley has seen it all though...Middleton is one of those teams that plays tough in any gym...

The medical staff at the game thought maybe just a sprain but he did have swelling....Maybe just a sprain...Probably will know more by tomorrow's game...

Final From Allen Arena...... Union City-76 Sycamore-66 MJ Brown led Union City in scoring with 24 points followed by Nik Brooks with 18 points Ryne Simpson added 14 points... Tony Wilkins for UC went out early with a knee injury and did not return to the game.... UC didn't do a good job from the free throw line in the fourth quarter and needs to improve in that area.... UC will now play for the championship tomorrow against the winner of the Independence-Livingston Academy game....

End of Third Quarter.... Union City-65 Sycamore-50 Union City was 8 for 23 in the first half on their three point shooting in the first half but they hit 7 in the third quarter alone to break open a close 6 point game at half to a high of 17 points at 59-42... MJ Brown has 20 points and Nik Brooks has 18 points....

Score at Halftime.... Union City-34 Sycamore-28 UC led by as much as 11 points in the quarter.... Nik Brooks hit 4 threes in the quarter and he leads UC in scoring with 15 points MJ Brown has 10 for UC Staggs and Dempsey lead Sycamore with 8 points apiece...

End of First Quarter...... Union City-15 Sycamore-12

I don't think there will be a migration either....I will tell you this,Union City High School is a fine school...My son had been in the county school system from K-8th grade....There was nothing personal against anyone from the county when he decided to go to Union City and there was nothing personal against anyone from the city when he transferred to Obion Central...He had a great experience on the freshman football team and was going to have the same experience on the freshman basketball team...There are great kids with great families at Union City,white and black...But at the end of the day,he just wasn't at home at Union City...He had gone through K-8 at Ridgemont and all his friends were at Central...I won't belittle either school system...I think our county is very lucky to have two school systems the caliber of the two we have....I'm a Union City guy...I went to school there and played there...I won't apologize to anyone at Obion Central for that...If people have a problem with that so be it....I will support my son just as much with him being a Rebel as I would if he were a Tornado,just like I did my oldest son.... I have experience with coach Bowling because my oldest son played for him the four years Bowling was at OC....OC and D-Burg's loss is definitely Union City's gain...Bowling will have this program back deep in the playoffs just like Union City fans are used to being and don't be surprised to see a Gold Football next to the three Silver ones in that very crowded trophy case in the next three years.....

Gleason,Greenfield,Bradford,South Fulton...Yada,Yada,Yada....Yep,it's been awhile since UC played any real competition.... I'm surprised the moderators haven't shut you up...

I'm sure Mt.Juliet had something to do with UC not playing so well last night...It's been a few games since UC has played any real competition too,so that may have had something to do with it as well....Union City shot 41% for the game(24 of 58) and shot 8 of 21 from the three point line....UC forced the Bears into 21 turnovers...Sisco said in the paper that the Bears were physical and were bigger than Union City(which is nothing new)..He said they were very good in their halfcourt defense....Sounds like the Bears were able to force their style of play on UC,which doesn't happen often...If Sycamore makes the mistake to come out and run with the Tornadoes they will get beat badly....They will have to have gotten alot more athletic than what I saw in the tourney last year to match up athletically with the Tornadoes.... Union City started the season out at 11-0 last year also and lost in this very round of the tournament to Brentwood Acd 76-74 before finishing third by blowing out White House....

Will this game be broadcast on the internet??Mtownballer....Independence plays Livingston Academy in the other semi-final game....Independence beat Haywood County,who is 0-4 in two years at this tourney and Livingston Acd beat Brentwood Acd... You'll see athletic tonite....

CoachT scoreboard has UC winning 67-62...... Also shows Independence winning 64-50 over Haywood County....

What radio station does the Mt.Juliet games on the radio??....Does anyone know if they will be covering the Mt.Juliet boys in The Battle of the State tournament @ Lipscomb University?? If so,please post a link to the radio station....Thanks... I would post this on the boys thread but there never is much about the boys team on CoachT....
