Leavin out Fri bout 130 , gonna go watch South Pitt.win and then cheer Alcoa to victory . Then party at hotel , get up SAT . watch Fulton win and then watch Maryville . Looks like 4 gold balls are comin home to East Tenn. to me . All in bout a 10 to 20 mile area. Aren't we lucky to have all this tallent in the east ? Hope to see you all there .

You're right , that's pretty impressive and I congradulate GP on that accomplanshment . I'm hoping for a great game and no one gets injured on either squad . If you get this far in playoffs you're doing something right . Good Luck to both teams but I think Alcoa will get the W and move on . My prediction 49 to 7 , but that's my oppinion .

I'd like to reply on that 91 to 7 score and explain why . It goes back to the 2003 jamboree , Alcoa played South Doyle the night before the jamboree and Coach Reid went to the GP coach and told him that he was only going to play freshmen and a handfull of sophomores . The GP coach played his varsity the whole quarter and beat those poor kids to a pulp . That loomed in those kids mind big and they wanted revenge , they got it too . Hope that kinda explains the score of that game .

Please don't open that can of worms , we played Maryville and lost . We have a great team and Maryville has a great team and I don't think they will be tested untill the semis or at the Boro or maybe not even then . This is a thread about the Alcoa CAK game , we don't need a bunch of Maryville fans comin in here sayin how great they are . And btw ,I think this will be close for a quarter but then the flood gates will open , Alcoa by 21 +

I really don't like the new set up , look at region 9 teams that made playoffs .Ist has a 4 and 6 record and the 3 and 7's . Alot of better teams are sitting at home instead of playing . But as far as 1st round games go , looks like everything moved up a week from years past . But this i just my opinion .

Congrats to Lipscomb on their win , they are a very good team and it just wasn't Alcoa's night . Glad no one was injured on either side and we're still proud of Alcoa for the season you had and the effort you put forth every game .

okay OSHSman that's how OS beat us early was turnovers , that game is over . As far as 3 TD , I don't think so . Lipscomb may have a great team but like I said Alcoa has more heart than any team I've seen . They find a way to win and I think this week they do the same . I predict Alcoa by 7 .

I agree everyone keep talking Alcoa is peaking right now and L iscomb better come ready to play , we aren't going to just lay down . This group has more heart than any team I've seen play and they find a way to win . At the beginning of the season everybody was saying this was a rebuilding year and this guys were too young , well look at them now . No one gave us a chance and we've proved them wrong . OS91 how many of those 3A teams did you beat and curious did any of them have winning records ?

As many have said , this Alcoa team has grown since early when they played OS and I'm sure OS has gotten better too but look at the teams Alcoa has played this year besides 2A . 3 5A teams , won 2 , 1 4A , lost but too 3 time defending state champ Maryville , and 1 3A that they won . They have gotten so much better and stronger at all positions and it shows . The early season mistakes are gone and are hitting on all cylinders . Alcoa has been scoring 40 to 50 points a game and holding the opponents to less than 20 . The defense is making the other team turn the ball over and capitalizing on it and the same thing is going to happen this week too . We are peaking right now and the coaching staff are really preparing them everyweek for that weeks game . I see the score being Alcoa 44 Oliver Springs 16

OS has got a good team or they wouldn't have made it this far , no one is doubting that . But Alcoa has jelled since the first meeting on offense and defense . These kids have worked hard all year and have vastly improved their tackling and cut down on turnovers . I just don't see turnovers deciding this game , it's going to be a good one and I'll be there to watch the Tornados take it. My prediction Alcoa 44 Oliver Springs 16

I've watched Alcoa all week practicing for the Sweetwater game and these boys are ready . When we played them earlier this year we were still getting things worked out and now that we do , watch out . The games we lost were at the first of the year and against Maryville and William Blount , a 4a and 5a schools . The only 2a team to beat us was Oliver Springs , who won the region , and it was in double OT . We've grown alot since the start of the season and are ready to play .
