  1. If they annoy you maybe you should take the sign off. Just a thought.
  2. You must be arrogant if you are cheering for greenbrier and you are from greenbrier. You should try to be more humble and try cheering for the other team instead of your own sometime!
  3. Let's not stop there! Let's contact your senators and representatives as well! This is un-american!!! How dare these people broadcast the games they want to!! Don't they know that in America they must please everyone? This must be stopped or else or country will turn into a democrary where people have the right to do as they please. For the love of American ideals, let's end this!!
  4. How could you give or take 100 from 9.5?
  5. Oh- I forgot to mention you on my list. Here's to you Rigger!!!
  6. I want to pay tribute to the great fans of high school football who have shared with us their insights in very insightful ways. People such as Jettjuice27, TedLNancy, pantherfanatic, paper scissors rock are a few that come to mind. These pioneers of CoachT posting taught us some memorable lessons about not only high school football but life itself. And of course this thread couldn't be started without mentioning my old friend, eddie van halen. Just search back through some of his old posts and find yourself unlocking the mysteries of life. What posters have made memorable impressions on you?
  7. The reason for lack of response is because it is a stupid question. Quote where I said wrestling was negative for football first, then I 'll respond. My whole point is that Lots of things are good cross training for various sports. Piano is good for strengthening fingers for catching passes. Badminton is good for hand eye coordination. So lets start a thread for all of these other things as well. Oh and please don't quote your only source as a wrestling coach writing in a wrestling magazine. I'm sure the people who read enrons financial statements 7-8 years ago thought it was good for their bank accounts. The point is that people writing with an agenda can't be fully trusted.
  8. They ran that play twice in a row on first and third down!
  9. Are you trying to brag by saying that 25 people out of hundreds of thousands of graduates were successful?
  10. You listed 32 out of 10's of thousands of football players in the NFL. Most of which weren't even that great. You even included a kicker!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHA!!!! What does wrestling have to do with kicking?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I bet the list of great football players who also played basketball is waaayyyyyyy longer than that of wrestling. So if I had to choose based on your logic, I know which one I would choose! You mean that someone with an agenda for promoting the sport of wrestling tried to tie it to the most popular sport in America? How surprising!
  11. I would agree with the part that it's not for everyone!!!
  12. Finally some people with intelligence!!! I guess I shouldn't make blanket statements about all wrestlers not having athletic ability or being good enough to play football. There were some really good wrestlers who played football also. Look at the rock. He played football at Miami and he makes waaaaayyyyy more money now then any football player!!! Not to mention but few football players get to star in movies! I think he definitely made the right choice. But I think most pro wrestlers were probably football players in high school, and that helped them prepare more for wrestling then the other way around.
  13. I'm glad you guys are the only ones "in" on the big secret. Think about it, if it really helped that much, than everyone would be wrestling. As for football players not being in wrestling shape, that is as you put it an ignorant statement because the same could be said the other way around. Each sport has its own physical demands and you can't transition from any one to another and be in perfect shape for that sport. My point on the other things is that just because there are a "few" wrestlers who are good at football doesn't make it some great training ground for football players. Typically wrestlers who "think" there sport is so much harder than others is because they feel bad that no one cares one little bit about a wrestling mat.
  14. wrestling has as much to do with football as academics does with UT. Take this to the wrestling board where someone cares about it.
  15. Next topic- football players who played basketball, a lot more nfl'ers who played bball then wrestled. Football players who played baseball- probably more who did this also football players who played piano,, probably as many who did this football players who played monoply, many more who played this Point being- it isn't wrestling that made them good football players. wrestling is a good sport for people with little athletic ability who like to wear underwear in public. It does little if anything to improve football skills, as there are few times when fightin off of your back comes in handy on the football field.
  16. Now that is a clever post!!!!! I can't imagine anyone coming up with Wally and the Beave. How did you ever think of that?!!! Where do your stats come from to support your nine times out of ten theory. I could just as easily say it is the other way, we both have equal backing for our statement- none. People just can't admit that they don't know everythiong and that parents know more than you think. I think a great idea would be to let parents have input in all parts of football coaching. After all parents have coached them since they were born, why quit when they get to high school. A good coach would get more parent input as opposed to less. A great idea would be if all parents payed $10 to call a play in a particular game. They would hold a raffle and the winning "coach" would get to stand on the sidelines with the team and call a play on the first series. If the play failed he would have to back to his seat but if it succeeded he would be in a drawing to be co-offensive coordinator the next year. This would increase parental involvement and show them how "difficult it is to be a coach. Proceeds could be used to purchase new band equipment or cigarettes for the bowling team!!! Everyone wins in this scenario!
  17. It is athletes not atheletes. Also, youth teams typically play on Saturdays not Friday nights. Also, that was a stupid post.
  18. My advice for you is that if it is taking up so much time to coach your team, spend less time posting on CoachT!! Oh and by the way, a "good" coach would know there are no guarantees in football. What high school is it that you work at anyway?
  19. I remember you Ted. You are the one who bought out 34 packages of Nutty buddies the other day. I called to have them restocked and they said you had cornered the market on them. I wish you would stop coming in and putting your mouth on the end of the slurpee machine!!!! I have to disinfect that thing every time! Also, we had our door widened to accomodate you per ADA requirements. Make sure when you come back in you have showered with soap!
  20. So according to you neglecting your family is a requirement for a good coach?
