  1. I was looking for some information about Harriman High School's Girls basketball team. What kind of team do they have? Who are their players? What are their strenghts? Anyone who has seen them play.....
  2. I was at the Cleveland/Walker Valley game. Walker Valley outplayed Cleveland in every aspect of the game. They showed that if you played good defense on Cleveland they have no half court offense. Limit their transition and you kill Cleveland's offensive output. If not for a key turnover and a possible over the back when Little, being the great player he is, missed three point blank layups and just kept going back up and grabing it and trying again. An over the back call right there and the game turns out to be a victory for a very good Walker Valley team.
  3. Jujuan Smith best "all around"? I've only seen him play twice, but in the two times I saw him play I don't believe I saw him play one minute of "hard defense". He uses defense to rest his shooting arm for offense. And, in the two games I also don't believe I saw him dish out one single assist. Can the get shoot? Yes, he shoots the lights out. His elevation and ability to get his three-pointer off against anybody is very impressive. Is he a super athlete? Definately, no question. But, 'all around' includes much more than these two aspects of the game.
  4. godsent5....amen, I second everything he said who the heck cares who wins a middle school game? unfortunately alot of middle school coaches (thoese games are just battles) the war comes when they get to high school, and all they know how to play is a soft lazy 2-3 zone because thats how you 'win' middle school games...they get to high school and say, "what is man-to-man defense?" they are told to just shoot the ball if they are in doubt, no matter if its a good shot or not, because otherwise they might turn it over and at least a some crazy bad shot attempt has a chance of going in...does that make any sense? no... not all middle school coaches do this, obviously, but it is a large percentage
  5. His point is valid...yeah California has more big recruits because California has a much bigger pool to choose from Tennessee might be falling behind some other states in terms of the athletic ability of girls basketball players (something that can't be helped) but the quality of the players and programs is top notch
  6. I do not know much about the new girls coach at Bradley Central. He came there after I graduated from high school. But, I am back in the area and I just wanted to comment on the post somebody made about him being able to coach girls with all ability levels and make them better. My question is this, have you seen the junior high teams from Bradley Co. play? I have seen them a couple of times. Wow! These girls that play at Bardley Central learn how to play the game long before they get to the high school level. He is a lucky benfactor of an awesome feeder system. He is not over there struggling to squeeze every ounce out of an untalented group of players. He might be a great coach. I don't know. I just wanted to comment on that post made earlier.
  7. Well, keyplayer, actually the new WV coach ALSO beat Bradley @ Bradley in the Region Championship game in 1999. Thats a relatively big game to just ingnore. A big region championship game on the road @ BCHS where the region was being hosted. I know very little about the players or talent level at WV, but I can tell you as a team they will be a better team with their new coach.
