  1. It will also help the Owls if they can get Courtney to not be afraid of the big man and go at him get to the free throw (the best part of his game) and get the Owls going. If the Owls come out with an early lead or a real close game, they take it. With that said, I am pickin the Owls by 4.
  2. Ooltewah doesnt play Notre Dame or Boyd this year in basketball and didnt in football either.
  3. The Brainerd Panthers come to the "New Barn" Tuesday night. What is everyone's opinion of the game?
  4. Staynskool, thats a good team, but all are from the southeast. Could somebody around Knoxville add to this team and we will be set.
  5. Well personally I love it. It gets everybody into the game especially if they have some cheers and stuff to go along with it. It shows school spirit which is important to a lot of kids and many people enjoy acting goofy every once in a while. I cant think of any downs to it besides the fact that it can get out of hand.
  6. It would take a miracle for Ooltewah to win state. Yes they are a good team, but they would have to play their best ball, which is good enough to contend with Bradley and White Station, more than just once. The chances of winning state or unimaginable with the district/region they are playing in.
  7. Well when you have as much talent as Bradley does this year, you dont have much space on the bench for many freshman. And normally Central's dont even play unless it is a blowout because yall only go 6 deep most of the time. Although I did see someone else get in against Brainerd.
  8. Tophat, that is a great question. My answer would have to be both. The coaches at Bradley know what they are talkin about, work extremely hard, and have cooperative players with lots of talent to begin with. You take away their talent you still have an average program due to the coaches' abilities, and if you take away the great coaching, you have at least an average program with just the talent.
  9. Mens mustang there are only 3 As in basketball. Bradley is AAA and I still believe that Walker Valley is AA. If Walker Valley runs their press like they did against Ooltewah they lose by 30+, if not it is around 15 or 20.
  10. Yeh they wont make it to state just because they play in arguably the toughest region in the state. There is Bradley Central, Rhea County, Cleveland, Chatt. Central, Ooltewah, and them all in it so it will be real tough.
  11. Well they must be somewhat decent considering Bradley is ranked #1 in the state and Stanford, a Pac-10 school, one of the toughest conferences in America, is looking at Hare. But hey i guess thats ur opinion.
  12. Oh sorry my bad. I remember seeing him when he was at McMinn Central and him and Armstrong were their best players. Although he didnt do much against Ooltewah either time he is a real good player though.
  13. haha Sherm is a great all around player who can play it all but I dont think he is the best in the state.
  14. Men's mustangs...are you talkin about Ryan Boatman, who transferred from McMinn Central?
  15. Yeh u do want to work on things for district...tourney that it is...regular season champs dont mean nothin. Its all about the postseason. And most teams have things they work on in practice so they are somewhat prepared for the game, but even if u do run it, why in the world would u run it the whole game. I think most teams would want to win every game. Sorry but I think u could come up with a better excuse, or just admit that you got outplayed?
  16. District 6-AAA and Region 3-AAA will be held at Ooltewah High School's new gym-"The Barn." Should be some great competition and I cant wait.
  17. Justin Hare and Kellen Pickel from Bradley are tough to beat and they have a supporting cast so that may add and take away from their abilities.
  18. PG-Corey Sanders SG-Justin Hare SF-Zach Hyatte PF-Charles Little C-Ryan Merriman Bench: Courtney White and Sherman Moton from Ooltewah, Tim Cooper from Rhea, Kellen Pickel and Cori Pugh from Bradley, Rodney Henderson from Howard, Jajuan Smith from Mcminn, Jon Cook from Chatt Christian, and Johnathan Adams from Baylor. Coached by Kent Smith from Bradley with assistants Ron Baker and Wadley.
  19. Yes the Owls did play a little bit better. They did accomplish the task of shutting up the mouths of the cocky sophmores from Red Bank. Which I am still wondering what they have to be cocky about but its cool we won. I dont have stats for u but I am pretty sure Moton was the leading scorer. The Owls couldnt seal the deal and put the Lions away so I have to give them some credit for fighting.
  20. Did Central not lose to Cleveland last night?
  21. Corey Sanders from Brainerd. He doesnt start just because Coach High likes the energy he brings off the bench. Came in and busted 27 on Cleveland in three quarters. He is a flashy player that can shoot but opens up quite a bit for the rest of the team too.
  22. Baconbreath...you forgot about Central for that region tournament because they are pretty good if you ask me. They just manhandled Ooltewah...who in their two big games has not played well at all, which we will have to see how that turns out in the long run.
  23. Well I just looked at the scoreboard for Monday night and I look like a total idiot. Cleveland mopped the floor with Brainerd winning 70-48. Would someone from the game please explain this to me.
  24. Well the two Chattanooga area games feature four of the top six in that area so of course they will be great games. In the Monday night matchup between Brainerd and Cleveland at Cleveland, I feel the Panthers will pull it off in a game better than some will expect. Brainerd's athleticism and speed wins this one and because Cleveland can't seal a deal with free throws and Benning can shut down Little...well not shut down but reduce to a minimum haha. In the Tuesday night game at the new "Barn" in Ooltewah, I think it is a game that comes down to depth. Ooltewah will play 10 players where Central only sits 7 or 8 in some games. The game will be a good one though because Central has the size advantage. But I feel that Ooltewah pulls it out late just because they will want it more.
