To Crackback, EHS did make the playoffs but they were in the worst conference in the state. Then lost to Cherokee one of the worst teams in the state last season. A watered down playoff system does not mean that you are good if you make the playoffs. When you lose to Sullivan East, Happy Valley and Cherokee in one season you are awful.

I hope they do play the younger guys if they are the better player. Too many times in the past it is whose daddy has the most money and who buys stuff for the athletic department, if you fell in this department no matter how bad you were or how many times you messed up you would always play because of the buddy-buddy system. I predict 4-6 record for EHS this season.

This will be one of the worst Elizabethton teams in a while. They need to bring disicipline back to the program because the last few years that has been lacking. That has been the main reason why they have been playing bad and the reason why attendance is down people are sick of the crap.

Eddie Pless will be named coach Thursday. He is a good man and a good coach but he has no help. So he will take some heat this season but it is not his fault. Some of the assistant coaches he has are jokes but that is what you have in a political school system such as Elizabethton.

Elizabethton is bad for High School sports. Bailey and Blevins when they are takin out of the game they go to the end of the bench, they almost set outside but nothing is said to them. When they get beat they do not shake hands real good disipline there. It all started with football when they have no one making them behave and messing up on and off the field but EHS coaches are all yes men for the school system and they can laugh like it is going out of style and try to be everyone's best friend but instead of being successful coaches they are butt kissin losers. The football program is a joke and anyone that keeps up with it knows that is the truth. It has spilled over to basketball, I know they are not the most talented group this season but the way they act during a game on the court and on the bench is disgraceful and I get tired of all their butt kissers excuses. No disipline equals an awful sports program.

I vote for Sunny Hunt from Elizabethton. He always says stupid stuff and in football he drives you crazy because he tries to funny and he's not and he never shuts up.

Tony has no help so he is on an island. Football is all politics and most of their coaches are clueless. So come October when EHS football is going down that sorry path that they usually go on, remember this post and it is all on who ever makes decisions in that political school system.

Maryville vs Elizabethton in 98 gets my vote. Elizabethton needed one more first down and did not get it and had to punt. After the punt Maryville threw an out and the receiver raced down the sidelines to win the game. A couple of Elizabethton's defenders could have tackled him or pushed him out of bounds but they quit because they thought he steped out of bounds but the whistle never blew. Elizabethton could have won the state because that was the two best teams in 4a that season. Instead they made up t-shirts with excuses printed on the back but what they should have done was play to the whistle blows.

Morristown did the same thing to Greeneville in the quarter finals moving their game to Saturday in Sevior County. I think it is stupid and how the TSSAA is only worried about money I think more people would be there on Friday than Saturday. West should get their own stadium to play in and the field would be in better shape because there is a game there every week. West is like the New York Jets playing in Giant Stadium Because they play at East High School. If they cannot get their field conditions straight then they should not be allowed to host playoff games. Smaller schools than West with a lot less money have better fields, so it is sorry Morristown Athletics for this to happen.

In the second quarter the band starts beating their drums warming up and they start getting on people's nerves. I do not think people pay $5 to watch a band play.

Against Greeneville, West had 54 runs and one pass. That will be hard to do against a real good team because if you do not have balance you are asking for trouble. If West gets behind by more than a touchdown this game could get real ugly. What is the best way to get to the stadium from Bristol?

I have watched Elizabethton and I have read the posts on this board. Cyclone22 you must be a coach from a team they play because if I was I would want them to keep the same coaching staff. I hope everything turns out alright with Coach Jenkins. He is a nice man.
