Actually it is the state champions that I never miss

I have never missed a projection in all my years of looking at games. I called state championships for several years. Again most of the champions will come from the east. This game will be a close one. Remember Lipscomb was humbled in their opener by of all people Page. People think McCadams recruits...well if he does he needs to be fired. I think his offensive line averages about 190 pounds. If he recruits he could surely do better. This game will be decided on the field. Lipscomb's grass is like most others...still some green but now a lot of brown. Their stadium is nice but not like most other private schools with college type locker rooms or artificial turf. Lipscomb is actually a poor church of Christ school. The game will be a tough one. Really too close for the expert to call...although my gut is feeling like a Macon county upset here....

It makes no difference Lipscomb fans....Catholic will take care of Mitchell for you. We will beat them on the field and then we will convert them all after the game and they will leave the field all fine little boys........Remember west Tennessee....the beast of all classes from the east are coming......

I am not sure why these threads get non football related. If everyone could just support their teams in a positive way. For years I have tried to build up teams like Tyner, Maryville, South Pittsburg, Trousdale, Alcoa, Fulton, Knox Catholic...I love my mountain football teams. Good luck to the winner of Lipscomb vs Mitchell...it should be a classic game...and the winner gets the winner of White House vs. Catholic. Even though White House is from Middle Tn. they are coming from the east bracket so the winner will be tough to handle...Porter does a great job there and Catholic...well they have been the best team in the state the last 3 years to not be in the boro...but this could be their year to take home the gold ball.

Pretty sure the kids lost a heart breaker and sometimes emotions brings out the worst in all of us...I am sure both the young men and the school have corrected those problems.

My west tn "expert" friends tell me Mitchell brings back 8 starters on defense...should be interesting....if Mitchell can play out of Shelby county.

Yea I agree with you here....Lipscomb goes to state every year and of course an east team usually beats them every year...like Fulton or Livingston...etc...but maybe a dramatic win at home like Giles county...but come on .....act like you have been there...but we will see who rushes the field in the boro....Alcoa...Catholic....Maryville...just to name a few..

I heard they rushed it on Friday against Giles....If they win....big "IF"....I bet against Mitchell they tip toe carefully into the night....ha...

I might buy your logic but this is the "year of change" in the White House so I think I am right here...the American public has spoken

But if you want to talk about Mitchell vs. Lipscomb....I think it will be a game decided by special teams...last year Mitchell could not kick an extra point because of their long snapper....and Lipscomb has maybe the best long kicker and one of the best snapper's in the history of high school football. The Giles county game came down to special teams....It was not about public vs private...or open zoning or recruiting or any of that....it came down to snappers and kickers....and special teams. I am giving Lipscomb the slight edge in this one due to the snapping thing...but....that will make no difference next week because in a rock-paper-scissors match...we know pope trumps Mr. Lipscomb any day.

If you flat landers have not realized it Maryville and Alcoa are probably two of the best teams not only in the state but in the nation. How many college players does Alcoa have right now compared to say...Lipscomb.....Catholic and even White House are way better...just saying Lipscomb vs. Mitchell is a meaningless game for the silver ball...the gold ball will go back over the mountain....

Well records are deceiving and mean nothing...

All of this just proves how weak the western half of the state really is. Last year was a fluke for Lipscomb....Fulton had some bad injuries....and Lipscomb got all the calls...Fulton was way better and Mitchell was better than Lipscomb last year. If Lipscomb doesn't bring their A game Mitchell will put a whippin on them.....if they bring their A game it will be close...I Like Lipscomb because McCadams is probably the best coach in the history of Tennessee high school football but he always has trouble with east teams...Catholic is just waiting to launch a few "hail Mary's" on them....

I remember when Lipscomb was in our half of the state before they ran to the west to find some weaker teams to play. They had to go hide from Tyner and Alcoa. If they were still in the east they would never get past the second round. White House is good...but will be no match for Catholic. Mitchell is a Tyner wanna be but will not be able to go to Lipscomb and win. They are big and fast but my opinion the western teams are just not as skilled as east teams. I am going to pick Lipscomb in a tight one...but again they are playing for second place....I am going to say Lipscomb better bring more than daily chapel to this game....the power of the rosary...will over power them...

Too bad the winner of this game gets second place in the state behind Knox Catholic. I think the smoke from the Vatican...has already turned their school colors.

While I think the winner of this game is the automatic runner-up in the state behind Catholic....I will join in here a bit. I re call a few years ago in a championship game...when Lipscomb came from the east bracket which is always stronger that Mitchell was handled fairly well. Last year I think Lipscomb got some late breaks and manage to "escape" Mitchell barely with a win. This should be a great game against the smaller skilled Lipscomb team and a big powerful Mitchell team. It will come down to special teams no doubt. Lipscomb has the best place kicker in the state and the best long snapper in America. Lipscomb had a player named Mitchell on their team last year...wonder if he is related to the founder of Mitchell. I think his last name was Tenpenny...just wondering.

Well it is evident that Lipscomb is better than Giles county....they beat them twice...reasoning like that is why I am an expert. Of course if Giles county coaches were experts...they would have been playing a zone and prevent and never allowed a team to go the length of the field in 3 plays. But who cares....Knox Catholic is foaming at the mouth to throw some Hail Marys on Lipscomb....I mean come on...David Lipscomb or the Pope....who has the most power....

This whole discussion is really worthless...we all know that all the champions will come from the east as always...when the leaves turn brown....the east Tn teams will be in Murfreesboro town...ha....ha...

Like it matters who wins this game anyway. Bring your bagpipes and even Peyton Manning if you want for quaterback. Send Giles County, Lipscomb, or anyone from across the river. It will make no difference. I saw Fulton and Cathlotic play 4 weeks ago and as usual there is no one in the west that can touch either of these teams.
