  3. Just for the info, Skogen wanted to play football in college instead of basketball. He had many colleges who wanted him to play basketball for them. So, I am sure it is no big deal to him that Demario is going to a D1 school and possibly watching him on tv. Whatever the case, hope things work out for both of these athletes in their respective sports.

  6. I haven't really kept up with them, but I do know that NW Whitfield and Dalton both got beat in the first round of the Georgia 4A tourney. NW got beat by Tucker, 76-43, who went on to win the 4A title. Dalton got beat by Stone Mt. 80-52. I'm not sure about Murray Co.
  7. Skogen is a post, not a point guard!!
  8. yes, there are more on the following website: http://www.tntempleacademy.com/site_flash/...hotoVARSITY.htm
  9. Seth Skogen deserves to be Mr. Basketball. He averages 21 points, 9 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 2.5 steals a game. He holds career records at Temple for most points (2,465) and most rebounds (951). He's been an all-state selection for the last 3 years and has been finalist for Mr. Basketball the last 2 years. This should be his year to win the award.
  10. I hope Temple gets the win over Humboldt on Friday. I'm proud of you guys!
  11. I hope CSAS gets the win over Culleoka tomorrow morning.
  12. What happened to just talking about the game?
  13. As I posted on another thread, those of us who have watched Temple play this year knows the game against EL was not a very impressive game by the Crusaders. I guess if you cause the other team to turn the ball over 27 times it would not be considered "awesome defense". But regardless of that stat, I'll be the first to admit that Temple just didn't have it on the offensive side of the ball tonight (shooting only 31% from the field), but I believe it will be much better in Friday's contest against Humboldt. It should be a pretty good game.
  14. Anyone who has consistently watched Temple play this year would tell you that Temple did not have one of their better games against EL yesterday. As you know, Temple only shot 31% from the field (in the 1st Half they were 8-26 and in the 2nd Half they were 7-22). From the 3-Pt. line they were 3-16 for the game (1st Half: 3-11, 2nd Half: 0-5). It is obvious that will not cut it when the Crusaders go up against the Vikings of Humboldt on Friday. The key to Temple's win over EL was on the defensive side of the ball. They caused East Lit. to turn the ball over 27 times. Temple out-rebounded the Eagles 35-32 for the game. Here is how the starters for Temple finished in the win over East Literature: Seth Skogen was 6-19 from the field and 2-9 from the 3-pt line (for 18 points). Jeremy Sexton 6-13 from the field and 1-3 from beyond the arc, plus 2 points from the charity stripe (for 17 points). Dee Newson had 6 points. Josh Smith had 4 points and 11 rebounds. Brandon Andrews and Erik Larson each had 1 point for the Crusaders. Even though it was not a pretty performance from the Crusaders, Temple did what they had to do to get the win in this first round game. No matter what anyone says, I have complete confidence in my boys from Temple to play to their full potential in the next two games and bring home another Gold Ball to Chattanooga.
  15. Same is sort of true with Temple's games with Chatt. Arts and Sciences. Temple beat them pretty good the first couple of games (and probably could have beat them by alot more than they did) but the last time they played it was a little bit closer. But whatever the case, I'm still not awestruck with W. Tn basketball.
  16. Neither is CSAS the best that East Tennessee has to offer, but at least they are in the state tournament. The second round at that. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  17. I hope Temple gets the opportunity to play Humboldt so we can see just how good the West Tennessee teams are supposed to be, but they first need to focus on the game today and get the win. I'm just not convinced at this point that the West teams are that much superior than teams in the rest of the state. It appears that Chatt. Arts and Sciences handled Memphis Westside alright today. And they seemed to handle Peabody (87-74) pretty good who got beat by Humboldt by only 3 last week.
  18. Glad to see that CSAS is doing well against Westside.
  19. I believe this is the first time I have posted this and if you'll look at the new post I made you will see I corrected that, but thanks anyway for your concern and interests in my posts.
