  1. Now Now Now, We all know the answer to this question. In any thread topic that titles Bradley Central with someone in the Chattanooga/Cleveland area is some sort of scam. Bradley Central is lengths better than any team in this area. Your question about can Pugh and Suiter stop Little, the answer is no! But I guarantee you that they will sure as heck contain him. And with Little being Cleveland’s only option to score (granted Jay Davis is not playing), Bradley will all focus on Little and contain him. You are questioning Bradley's ability to play defense??? You need to be questioning Cleveland's ability to contain all 5 of Bradley’s starters. Including one of the best 6th men in the area in Yarrish "Yaya" Hammonds. Cleveland will be in some real trouble come time to play Bradley. I mean think about this, last year Cleveland had Trey Sharpe, Jay Davis, Charles Little, and Tim Cooper, and they could not beat the Bears 1 time out of 4. So I mean think about it this year. They don't even have Sharpe, Cooper, and maybe not even Davis. And you are questioning if Bradley will win??? Come on. Bradley by at least 15.
  2. Well, I know that Jay Davis has not played in any Basketball games that I have attended at Cleveland High School this year. You were right Sly, this program has already been put on probation for its actions after the Rhea - Cleveland football game. Possibly 2 situations we have here... 1) Is that Jay did not pass all his # of required classes of the Spring Semester last year, and did not attend Summer School, which would make him eneligible to play football this Fall or Basketball up until Christmas when the students receive their semester grade cards. If he passes then, he will be eligible for the remainder of the school year. Which means if that was the case that Cleveland has played an eneligible player all through football, and no one realized until Coach Green took notice and has sat him out for basketball for percautions, which could do damge to the athletic program at Cleveland. 2) Is that he has been suspended, or held back from playing, because he is failing his classes this term, and Coach Green wants to make sure that he passes his classes this term to stay eligible through all basketball. So he has sat Jay out for this small portion of the season to get Jay focused. Or he just has his on standards of grades and Jay is not passing his standards. Which I find highly unlikely in both my situations in #2 because Coach Green comes off as a coach that jut wants to win ball games and will do whatever it takes. Yet, I could be worng. It will be intresting to find out the whole truth if we ever do, but I do know that Jay Davis will make Cleveland even more dangerous than they already are.
  3. Pretty good looking rankings you have there. I think there is some you should change though. After seeing McMinn and Brainerd play this week, I think they both have very good ball clubs. I think they should be in your 5 and 6 spot. Then Ooltewah or Chattanooga Central could take up either 7 or 8. I don't think it would matter who was at what spot between those two, but I would put Central at 7 and Oolteawh at 8. Here is mine.. 1) Bradley 2) Cleveland 3) Rhea County 4) Chatt. Christian 5) McMinn Co. 6) Brainerd 7) Chatt. Central 8) Ooltewah 9) Howard 10) Red Bank
  4. O.k my first statement is that the streak is over. Soddy finally played a worthy opponent and saw where they stand. Secondly, Cleveland did not have that great of a ball game besides the play of Charles Little. Which is all they needed last night. Soddy has no one that can stick with him. Charles went to a tune of 33 points. And to you Krenzel who obviously hasn't seen Charles play that often does not know his style of basketball very well. Charles never shoots outside of the paint, but he knows he can't shoot from outside their so he doesn't attempt shots that deep. He is really a smart player. He also has gotten alot better with his ball handling skills over the summer too. Guess it helps when he is having to play foreward out on the peremiter some with his AAU team out of Atlanta. From what I hear they are goin to work on his shooting alot next summer and try to develop him for the next level. Yet, I deffinately don't think you should be reffering to this guy as little Charles, because I am willing to put money down that he is alot bigger than you ever dreamed to be.
  5. Well Well, Temple comes off a good performance from Tuesday night. While the Owls come off an incredible first half performance to a rather hoe hum second half. My keys for the game for this Ooltewah - Temple match ups are as follows. Temple-1) No big man, got to find someone to stay with the play of Courtney White. Must box out. 2) Play their good tenacious Temple D. 3) Shoot the ball well. 4) Help Caleb to get his good shots and hope Wadley finally starts to hit his shots. 5) Draw the Ooltewah D outside and distract White and try to get Seth some inside looks. 6) Don't get in a running match with the Owls. 7) Get the crowd into the game from the biggining and give them something to cheer about. 8) Execute their half court offenses. Ooltewah-1) Contain the Skogans and watch Wadley. 2) Eat them alive inside with White and Moton. 3) Play tight D and allow no open looks at the basket. 4) Try to get in a transition ball game. 5) Shoot well again. 6) Play all 32 minutes. 7) Get out to an early lead. 8) Ignore the loud Crusader crowd. This will be a great game and I can't wait for it, since I had connections with both schools. Temple just has to not let themselves get beat inside by Ooltewah's size. Man you can you believe that I said Ooltewah has more size. Good Luck to both teams.
  6. This will be a close game. A real close game. I say they just clear the court and let Charles Little and JaJaun Smith go 1 on 1 and repersent their teams. That should be what the battle will be about. These two will really have a day trying to out do one another. I think that JaJaun Smith will have the better game, just because he is a better all around player, dribble, shoot, everything. But I do think the Raiders come away with a win, because, Little has a better supporting cast. ( If i would have said that at the beggining of the year I wouldn't have believed myself).
  7. I predict this team to be right around 20 wins. The only play 23 + 1 tournament, beacause I do not think they played in one over Thanksgiving break. (Correct me if I am wrong). This team will probably win at worst 16 at best 21. So my guess is about 18.
  8. Being the Critic that I am, here we go. I made it out to this game tonight and here is what I saw. Cleveland- 1) Who said that Charles Little cannot dominate a game???? This kid set the tone in the first quarter, and no one for Ooltewah could contend with him. 2) I thought that the young Cleveland gaurds, Charles Jett, and Levonte Barber had a good game. This team will be difficult to contend with when Davis returns. 3) Can you say practice the 15 footers Coach Greene. They should have been winning by 20 at the half if they could hit a free throw. Not one person on that team could shoot over 70% from the free line. 4) Cleveland added good pressure to Ooltewah and forced many turnovers. 5) Cleveland did a great job of getting in the lanes and drawing fouls. 6) How about learning to close out a game Cleveland??? Cleveland has Ooltewah down by 16, probably should have been down by 30, and Cleveland has 4 or 5 turnovers in a row along with some missed shots and allows Ooltewah to get back within 5 points. If Ooltewah his some of those shots they should have, even just late in the game, they might have won this game. 7) Ultimately, right now Cleveland is the better team and Ooltewah has somethin to try to build towards. Ooltewah- 1) Can you say INTIMIDATION??? Ooltewah was scared the minute they walked on the court. 2) They couldn't throw the ball in water tonight, even if they were standing on a raft in the middle of the ocean. 3) If Ooltewah does hit some of those shots then Ooltewah might actually come away with this game. 4) No leader. No one stepped up and took charge of this Ooltewah basketball team. 5) Ooltewah needs to thank Cleveland for allowing them back in the ball game. 6) Ooltewah needs to learn to protect the ball. To many turnovers by thier gaurds. 7) Learn to play strong and box out. You have to find Little as soon as he lets go of the ball and a put a butt on him an get him over your back. 8) Get Little in foul trouble next time. 9) Ooltewah did have some horrible calls against them. The backcourt call, the intentional foul, and some of the same calls that went against Ooltewah did not go against Cleveland's Little. 10) Remember that you lost only by 7 and played a bad game. Both teams hustled well and got on the floor for everything. I think Cleveland is a really good team and I think Ooltewah has a little bit more to go to get to that level, but should be their by the end of the season.
  9. I dont know an exact score from this game, but i do know that Central won this game by about 25 points. Thats all i know right now though..
  10. I made it out to the "New Barn" tonight to see East Ridge and Ooltewah play. Ooltewah started the game off slow, but onece they got going there was no looking back at all. The Owls were up by 14 at the break and came back out slow in the second half, but when East Ridge cut it to 11 early in the 4th Ooltewah answerd with 8 strait capped off by a huge slam by Courtney White. The Owls shot the ball well tonight and look to have a great team and one of the best in the city. They will be tested again Tuesday night. That one will be HUGE against Cleveland just to see where this team stands. East Ridge's only problem tonight was that they only had two players, Phillips and Moore. And after Phillips scored the first 6 Pioneer points, he was limited the rest of the night. They have a good team, but need a lot of work to stay with teams such as the Owls. The Final was 61-45 Owls.

  12. Well, I saw your picks from the pre-season and I thought they were respectable. Yet, we all know some will fall and move around. Here is who I think should go where in your Top 10. Your Top 10 PreSeason: 1. Bradley - Can't get any higher. 2. Baylor - Gotta fall some, lose 2 at a playday Saturday. 3.Rhea- At a good spot. 4. Ooltewah- Stay the same, if not move up a little. 5. Chatt Central- Loss to CSAS in Jamboree, fall a little 6. Cleveland- Seen them, they need to be "movin on up, movin on up" 7. East Ridge- Fall, at least lower than the Crusaders. 8. Temple- Proved they can play, with the big boys ( ER ) Movem Up some 9. McMinn County- Why not keep them here?? 10. Brainerd- Maybe in front of McMinn.. ONE QUESTION?? Where is Howard and Chatt. Christian??
  13. I can't believe that the East Ridge Pioneers let Temple come from behind to beat them. I am a bit of a critic, but East Ridge has alot more talent, size, and quickness. But what can I say when they play a team like Temple who D's you up everywhere you go. East Ridge had alot more size, and could have won this game if they would have relized how to use it. Temple's Skogen's and Wadley's (son and Coach) pulled them through this game in amazing fashion. This team would be running on flats if they didn't have these 3. Temple's fan base is great too. I mean they came to East Ridge and were alot louder than the Pioneers home crowd. Even if they did bring the whole High School and half the College. Temple's fans cheer for things as little as hustle, which is awesome, while other fans only cheer when their is a dunk or explosive play. Their team will stand up on the bench after every play or score, you don't see that to often. Temple has some unique fans. Temple didn't have enough size or speed or talent to play with East Ridge, but they had 1 thing that East Ridge didnt. HEART!! They wanted to win that game and they did.
  14. I think this will be a great game. Ooltewah coming off their first win and East Ridge coming off a shocker loss to Temple. East Ridge should come into the "New Barn" hot and ready to show people that they are better than what everyone thinks. They had all the preseason hype and then fell to Temple on opening night. Yet, we all know Temple is no slouch but i feel like they should have pulled off a win still. Although, East Ridge was not the only team recieving pre season hype. Ooltewah had to be getting more hype than anyone in the city, including Bradley, not to say they would beat Bradley though. Maybe Ooltewah was getting this hype for good reason, who knows, you can't tell when you start off against a team like Grundy County and are beating them 29 - 0 at the end of the first. You know how loud this "New Barn" will be come Thursday night?? If you made it to the game Tuesday night at East Ridge and saw how loud that Nine of Ooltewah's Old Skool Balla's or whatever they call themselves can be. Think of those 9 along with say, oh maybe 100 more students chanting and yelling with them. The Barn will be rockin. And yes I do believe that the Owls will just have to much for the Pioneers to handle come Thursday night. Ooltewah falls 3 or 4 deep into their bench while East Ridge is maybe 2 or 3 deep on the floor. I think Ooltewah will have to much for the Poineers. To much talent and to many people to stop. Ooltewah wins this one by 11.
