I was at the game and all I can say is that it didn't seem like either team wanted to win the way they were playing down the stretch. Missed FTs, TOs, sloppy play. But you have to give Oakland some credit (nothing against Dyersburg) but when you shoot 25% from the floor for the game and miss the front end of 2 one and ones in the final minute down one you can't expect too many good things to happen but about 4 inches to the left and they would have forced overtime. It was good to see a game that wasn't a double-digit blowout. That was all the night session was tonight. And from what I saw in the 2 semi games. Mount Juliet will win by atleast 25 if Dyersburg plays like they did against Oakland.

I still have the same winners just a couple of different schools that they have to beat is all. Substitute Cleveland for Shelbyville and Wilson Central for Franklin.

What does anyone else think??

Could be headed to Crossville instead! It is a tight game there.

I don't think that they would do that, but it sounded like a good idea when the evening started!!!

They still have to face Franklin Road Academy/CPA winner in the sub-state before they advance to the BORO. Not saying that they won't do it but they need to win that one first.

Don't forget about Oakland they improved to 30-2 with their 15 pt. win over shelbyville.

I have seen Oakland play, they are tough, they get after you on D. Do you think that the Riddle girl will have any luck trying to stop Clark or will they have Asbury on her. I have heard that both teams can shoot from long range. This should be one of the better games of the year so far.

I haven't been able to see the Lady Cougars play this year but being a graduate of the school and seeing that they beat OAK RIDGE was great! Is Sherry Chapman still coaching them. I am stuck here in Murfreesboro. Don't know too much about their team this year. Thanks for any help. GO LADY COUGARS!!!

Number 1, it isn't bragging if it is the truth! She isn't bragging about her she is merely stating facts! If you haven't heard of her then like someone said earlier you don't follow girl's basketball in the midstate area for definite. Number 2, the battle or the phenoms seems to have went Riverdale's way.

According to the National Prep poll on cbs.sportline.com, Riverdale is ranked #12 in the country!!! It is a poll that is supposed to be a compilation of national prep experts!! Well I don't see anyone beating Riverdale this year!!!

I agree totally!!! IF they can find a spot for the Football championship then I am sure that they can find a spot for the basketball as well. There were some really good games!!!

The only thing that i have to say about this subject is that LA has a great team and congrats on the championship. But Gibson County had a great team as well. I don't care who you play to go unbeaten through the regular season, district tournament, and region tournament is a HUGE task and congrats to Gibson County for doing this. As far as their schedule goes I believe is you check the top ten capsules at the top of the forum you will see that their schedule was ranked 14th. NOT taking anything from anyone else. LA played great and won when it mattered the most. I just think that there is no place for CLASSLESS comments from ANYONE!!!! Congrats to both teams!!! Just an unbiased opinion and post!!!

She was called for a foul and threw her hands up in the air. Not exactly worthy of a technical especially in a State semifinal game. It probably was the coach's call but I think the girl was too excited and maybe threw it farther than she should have. Any way it was unbelievable I almost felt sorry for those people that got up and left. They missed something special!!

I think that Shelbyville will probably win it but I think that Craigmont will matchup better than Powell would have. Craigmont has to really athletic quick guards that should be able to handle the Shelbyville press, Powell guards I don't think would handle it well. Jackson will have the size to matchup with Fuller but probably not the talent. They better hope #5 isn't hitting because she isn't afraid to shoot and DEFINITELY doesn't need alot of space or time to get the ball off. Powell had their hearts broken twice tonight. Once at the end of regulation and again at the end of overtime. They had their chances up 6 with 18 seconds to go. WHY did she throw the ball so far down the court. I don't think Hollifield could have gotten to the ball even if she didn't fall down. They should have thrown it to midcourt not beyond. It would have been virtually impossible for the Craigmont player to steal the ball with her back to the basket and get a shot off. Well anyway just my take on things.
