I don't think that Sonny would throw his team under the bus like that. Do you? He wouldn't do that to his coach, his best friends, his school, or the town of Smyrna. He has a chance to defend his state title. Tell me... would you leave if you had the best weapon in the state and one of the best in the nation, Rodriguez Wilks? And whatever happens was meant to happen. If he gets hurt, that's how it was meant to be and if not then great. No regrets.

Let's hear it! Thomas out at Lavergne. Players transfering? Smyrna is defending champion and return top QB (Sonny Gray), WR (Rodriguez Wilks), and LB (Josh Day) in the state. Can Riverdale recapture their thrown? Which '06 bottom feeders will rise to the occation in '07? WC? Siegel? Blackman?

Do you really think Sonny would throw his football team under the bus like that? He would not only be ending his future with football, but would be hurting his teammates' chances of getting better scholarships because he makes everyone he plays with even better than they already are.

Hopefully if I say this than all of yall will stop crying. I think we could have done without that but I do not have a problem with it at all. It doesn't bother me one bit. We didn't have to go over there and taunt Ravenwood but that's out of my hands. I'm not on the football team so it's impossible for me to know how good it really felt to beat Ravenwood. Acting like a "champion" can be whatever you think it should be. Technically, if anyone wins a championship in whatever sport, then that in fact makes them a champion. Don't you have to get ready for basketball season? No one from Smyrna could care less about this! We JUST WON STATE! Yea, what they did was controversial, but look at it from their point of view. Ravenwood's "Raptor Nation" was taunting the entire game. Before the game even started they were chanting "KILL, KILL, KILL, KILL." They also were singling out #17 the entire game which was expected, but you should know all of this, right? You were right in front of them. It goes both ways, so, before you start judging other people, look in the mirror.... you'll see the EXACT same thing. Well, almost..... yall will just have more expensive clothes on

Way to go SMYRNA!!!! Best game of the weekend by far. Congrats to both teams for outstanding seasons. All I can say is that I can't wait to defend that championship next year!

Let me just say I wanna thank all of the schools in Rutherford County for supporting us. Yesterday I heard that Oakland and Lavergne had put "Good Luck Smyrna" on their signs in front of the school and I just wanna say that means alot to the folks here in Smyrna. Thanks to everyone.

20 hours and 40 minutes

Well Smyrna has made major adjustments to the D-line. They put more guys up front and you will see new faces or guys in new places on the D-line. So far it has worked out fine.

I'm gettin a little too anxious over here, that's all. Just a little tired of alot of Smyrna and Ravenwood people talking about stuff that has nothin to do with the football game, which is the reason we are even on this site to begin with. I probably have to go back to like page 8 to find a conversation pertaining to the game. What are everyone's thoughts about the GAME on Saturday? Not about the opposing side's fans, their mascot, their income, the way they dress, their attitudes, all of the stereotyping needs to stop. Just the game, that's all I care about.

Do you think anyone from Smyrna cares what the Ravenwood fans are doing? Nope! I intend on staying warm and enjoying the game with my friends. Does that make me any less of a fan because I'm not painting myself? Nope! And no I don't think anyone plans on going bare chested because they have enough common sense to realize how freakin cold it will be! But I could be wrong.

This topic forum is really unnecessary. If you wanna post about the game go to the 20 page thread like everyone else. I understand it's exciting to talk about our team on here but there are just too many threads being created and it's getting out of hand. Plus it just doesn't look good to see Smyrna this, Smyrna that. Smyrna has great players. Smyrna has an even better TEAM. Ravenwood has great players. Ravenwood has an even better TEAM. It's not about yards or who the star is. That's why alot of teams lose.. because they're too focused on the "stars" of the team instead of winning together. So please everyone go to the already made forum for the championship game and post there if you're gonna post about Smyrna, Ravenwood, or the game. It's also less confusing when there aren't 10 different Smyrna topics. Thanks

Seriously? Don't be stupid. I was at the Smyrna-Ravenwood game this year. To be honest, I wasn't that impressed with the Raptors that night and their crowd was not THAT big as yall have been saying. But then again, the weather that night was pretty crappy. Smyrna has not seen the real Ravenwood. Ravenwood has not seen the real Smyrna.
