  1. Hume Fogg, wow all I can really say is how much fun it was to watch you all play this year. It was probably one of the best times I have ever had as a fan. One thing is certain, nothing, and I mean nothing was GIVEN to you guys throughout the year. You guys overcame the following 1) Coaching - You have been through multiple coaches throughout your career, and whose to say you were really coached this year. 2) Field - Of course you dont have your own field and are forced to play on a Middle School Field. 3) Soccer Balls - You guys couldnt even get team shirts, because that money had to go to soccer balls that were misplaced. 4) Players - Wow, lets be real, only like 7 of the players play soccer for real. 3 of the main senior starters didnt even play last year for different reasons. One hadnt played soccer in four years. But its all about heart and desire. 5) Scholarships - Zero Players playing in college. 6) And you certainly were not given a U17 National Team Player. But most importantly 7) Respect - Nobody gave this team a chance to even beat Notre Dame let alone even stay within 3 goals of CAK (Aside from Hume Fogg supporters and BigG), but you guys didnt care what they had to say. This group shows that just Ballin does work, but youve got to have the heart and desire. But you guys had so much heart and did not care about these people and what they had to say. You had to TAKE everything this year, and TAKE you did. The heart that you guys showed was unreal, and hopefully the memories will last a lifetime. You were basically the black sheep of this tournament and came oh so close to winning it all. Neal Baltuth - Most heart and desire I have seen in a while. I know you will take the memories with you. The goal vs Notre Dame was the most exciting thing I have ever seen. I know how much it means to you. Also the goal in the Championship.....Tell them to get big or go home and then you score, amazing. And you didnt even play the majority of the season last year. Still scoring on people out there. Best right foot in the state....haha. Sam DeVault - One of the more unappreciated players in the State. People were talking about this Iron Curtain for CAK, but going into that final game you guys had allowed zero goals as well. Its amazing that I have never seen your name mentioned on these boards, yet you are no doubt one of the states best defenders. Not to mention you had like 9 goals this year. Travis Jenkins - The goal vs Westview was awesome as you went through the defenders like they were not even there. You did that alot this year. And I really thought you had that goal in the beginning of the 2nd half vs CAK. Your footwork and speed with the ball are up there with the best of the state. You really did your thing this year. If you went to a soccer powerhouse your name would have been thrown around everywhere when people mentioned the best in the state....But, you only went to Hume Fogg. Who nobody seemed to care about. Seth Davis - Everbody was talking about Dean Myers ankle, but really what about yours. I bet it was 10 times worse, but you went out and played and did your thing. And you didnt even play last year. That corner in the 2nd half was so on point and almost led to a goal. I know that you will cherish these memories. The stand in the final seconds vs Notre Dame, taking that shot to the face. You wanted that more than them. And I know you mark, especially when your tired.....haha. Zach Woods - The basketball player that just decided to play soccer this year. Hadn't played in 4 years, and tore his MCL real early in the season....Haha Im sure CAK and all these other private schools had people like this starting for their team....Not....Unreal what you did out there and to come up with the seeing eyes throughball for Neal vs Notre Dame to get the assist......You deserved it after that basketball season....And we still got hype after the Yellow.... Wilson Forrester - Best keeper in the A/AA State Tournament "PERIOD". Hunter Allen - When you got a chance to play your half, you did awesome....Dont let the lack of PT get you down....You would have started for most these teams in goal. Justin Williams - You got better and better as the season progressed, and were key in shutting down some big players. Travis H, D Justice, J Justice - Great defense throughout the season and especially in the tournaments. Grant, Steven, Hunter, Daniel, - Amazing work throughout the season. Loved every second of it. And Im sure you guys did too. Hopefully you guys took/earned some respect from people for this. But if not, forget them anyway, because you deserve all the respect in the world.
  2. Um so as a former Hume Fogg player, and playing against Liberty in last years Substate, Pearl has no idea whats bout to happen. When we walked into the arena an hour before the game, the stands were already completly filled. It was crazy. And actually, the press didnt get too us, it was superior athleticism. Being down 14 with 3 minutes left and losing by 27 made it seem really bad. SO we didn't play that bad and still got smashed. If you think Pearl is going to match Liberty's athleticism, then you are mistaken. Rashad Mason can and maybe the other Mason, but Liberty's guards are so much better than Pearl's guards. I wish I could be there, because the atmosphere is amazing.
  3. Like I said before, I am not a Lipscomb fan, and I do think you are better than CPA. And I am rooting for Giles, I just think that the comments that some of the GC fans have said are incorrect.
  4. Um if a school gives scholarships then they have to be in Division 2. So that means that no 9AA team gives scholarships. Also I know Pearl Cohn aint a private school. And both Hume Fogg and MLK are magnet schools where you only get in if you make certain grades and they are both ranked in the top 50 public schools in the nation for academics. Didn't Giles get beat by Hume Fogg last year in the first round at regionals at Giles County. Well good luck to your team, because they are better than CPA.
  5. Listen Im not even a Lipscomb fan, but you obviously have no idea what you are talking about. Slater has a hurt ankle along with nagging knee injuries. You are on here talking smack, but you havent done anything. I wish you the best of luck vs CPA, and I think you will win, but 9AA is so much better than 10AA. You were not on here talking smack last year when you lost in the first round of regionals in your home gym to the 9AA four seed. I thought Giles County was such a tough place to play, guess not. But I wish theGiles County team the best of luck, but their fans need to stop coming on here talking abot stuff that they know nothing about.
  6. Hard to beat in Giles County. That is the same thing I heard last year. 9AA 4 Seed Hume Fogg walked in there and beat Giles County.
  7. What makes 10AA so tough? Last year the number 4 seed from 9AA, Hume Fogg, walked right up into the number 1 seed, Giles County house and beat them in the region tournament.
  8. What does Hume Fogg have to do with anything? And I think it may be 3 straight district championships, not region...They didnt even make it to the finals of region last year.
  9. What exactly is it and where would you go about finding one?
  10. You say that this is one of the best if not the best in AA.....and it was even better last year. They swept the Region but ran into two Big Time Teams in Liberty Tech and Bolivar.....I don't know about your rankings, because MLK beat CPA real bad and I know CPA didn't have Zeke, but MLK put it on them even though they are a one man team.
  11. I agree with Geezer, but it remains to be seen if Gerald can dominate entire teams by himself.
  12. Ok....well these are just preseason rankings. That is what the season is played for. I just gave my input as to why I see the rankings like I do. I had to offend somebody by putting a team as last, and I guess I offended you. And CoachF, a known Coach put FRA as last as well, but you never said anything about him.
  13. Wow.....No I did not say that they are unathletic, because they do not have any black people....Come on now. I have played against them a couple of times, and know from experience that they do not have the team speed of other teams in this district. The only way they can win is by slowing the game down and running a system.....which is very hard to do in this district without someone that is able to break people down one on one a few times a game. CoachF.....I really like your rankings, especially the pick of CPA at 4. I think that if Zeke plays this year, then they will get a lot better. I don't know about the top 3, but that is what the season is played for. Back to the other situation.....You obviously do not know much about CPA. They had a down year last year, but they have a lot of players that played in some big AAU games this year. Plus they have a 6-6 Sophomore transfer (Zeke Mason) that is ranked in the top 5 in the state in his class. That will be there game changer. Ezell, I don't know, you can flip flop them with Ezell and maybe Hume Fogg if the younger players do not develop...But I don't see FRA having any chance of getting the fourth spot and making it to Region.
  14. I agree that CPA should not be overlooked, and may be bringing in more talent with the hiring of Maddox. FRA may have some starters left from last year, but what does that mean. None of the are all that athletic, and a system can only go so far. Without a gamechanger or someone that can create something by himself, there is no hope in this district.
  15. Thanks for clearing that up crippler. And I'm sorry about the misunderstanding about Woods. I think he is a fine player, and if he can expand his game some more this year, he will have a very good season. Brooks, sorry the name slipped my mind at the time. I thought that he was a very good coach, but the switch to AA came at a wrong time. He just lost most of his athletes that could compete in AA, and was stuck with a lot of young players. This is always a recipe for disaster. With that being said, I think that Maddox will do very well, and they will only get better. Oh, and I forgot, is Zeke Mason (Sophomore) eligible for them this season. If so, that is another quality big man in this district, and could make them a very tough opponent in two years, and maybe even this year. FRA......How come everyone you listed is "strong?" Do they have any weaknesses? Please, lets try to be as unbiased as we can.
  16. Zach Woods is a good player.....and did step up in the tournament, but last year he was not one of the top 5 players for Hume Fogg. He did play better off the bench, and had some good games, but to say he is anywhere near Slater and Lil Gerald is overboard...These are D 1 talents. However, I hope he has a great year along with the rest of Hume Fogg.
  17. Zach Woods didn't start last year for the second half of the season or the tournaments. However, he does have experience......they do have a 6'5 player (Sean Lester), but it remains to be seen if they will be able to come together. They also have a sophomore Adrian Williamson who is ranked in the top 30 in the state on unapproved website. He is very raw, but can be good soon....and will be very good in the future. Oh, and Brooks?...I'm sorry but I do not know who you are talking about. Who is this?
  18. I placed FRA at 7th, because of their lack of athleticism. In this district athletes are needed, so I do not see them competing for the top three....However, the 4th spot is up for grabs for anybody. I placed Hume Fogg up at 4th, because they have the most athleticism of the teams remaining....Next I put Ezell, because they are able to get up and down with other teams as well. I only put CPA ahead of FRA, because they have a lot of decent younger players, plus Drew Maddux (who can coach). FRA lost a couple players, and really lack team quickness. They also lost their coach, and even though Piere should step in nicely, I expect them to take a few years to rebuild....However, as I said the 4th spot can be taken by any team...and I mean any team in the bottom four. It all depends on who wants it the most.
  19. I think that the top 3 are a given and they will have to battle it out at region. (Lipscomb, MLK, and Pearl Cohn). However the 4th spot is up for grab. Hume Fogg lost a lot of players (Kirtiss Brown, Jamesen Hendersen, Todd Zimmerman, Sam Douglas, and Erin Wright)...so all 5 starters. Their players are talented but very inexperienced.....So the 4th spot is up for grabs......About the best players....I think that Gerald Robinson has the most potential hands down....However, I think that the best high school player is Josh Slater....He is able to take over the game easy, and he is the first player to make Lipscomb change their offense. Normally it is only about their system, but they really allow him to take over the game. Rashad Mason is very good (and the only "real" big man in the league), but his game is raw....very raw. He has developed a nice midrange game, and he can snag bowrds on everybody, but he has limited post moves. I still expect him to dominate, but MLK (even without Hopson and Smith) and Lipscomb are too well coached to lose to them at tournament time. I know that Pearl Cohn beat Lipscomb last year in the district, but Lipscomb is very talented this year (Hunt, Slater, McPherson, Clayton, Prady). Also, Hume Fogg beat Pearl Cohn in Regionals, and that was not because of a system. Hume Fogg basically played street ball with them and won so..........I fully expect two of these three teams to make it to Substate and battle with the mighty Liberty Tech and Bolivar.
  20. What is this district looking like this upcoming season? With the likes of Gerald Robinson (TSU) of MLK Josh Slater (Lipscomb) of Lipscomb and Rashad Mason of Pearl Cohn, this should be a tough district. Last year Lipscomb and Hume Fogg made it to substate and lost to two very good teams in Bolivar and the state champs in Liberty Tech. However, I think Hume Fogg is a little down this year, and will be replaced by MLK. My predictions 1) Lipscomb (Slater and Clayton and Hunt will lead the way. Well coached) 2) MLK (Robinson and company will always be in it with Doc Shelton) 3) Pearl Cohn (Rashad Mason and other athletes will be strong) 4) Hume Fogg (New talent and upcoming seniors will have to step up to get to region. Loss of big senior class will hurt. Will battle with Ezell for final spot) 5) Ezell Harding (Loss of Gettis (transfer) hurts. Will struggle with consistancy) 6) CPA (Loss of Carroll...But lots of rising sophomores. Not athletic enough) 7) FRA (No stars. Only a system and no athletes. Maybe they can overachieve)
  21. Does anyone have any updates on what is happening in this tournament. Also, where is it being played at?
  22. She has had a history of knee injuries, and when she was out injured, she was afraid everyone would stop recruiting her, so she signed quickly with Belmont.
  23. Forget Sanford and Davidson, Butler should go to a high D 1 school.
  24. Ryann King's career is over. Everyone that played on Hume Fogg's team was a senior. I don't think they will ever have that kind of talent again. I sure will miss watching Ryann and Crystal Shelton and Sophie Soloman play. Does anyone know where Ryann and Crystal are going to college?
  25. Any updates from Hillwood or Livingston Academy?
