  1. wchs guy, i guess i should pay you some money. seriously-congrats to the wildcats, heck of a job today, and nathan thomas is the real deal man. kid plays with lots of heart and desire. Good luck against Wilson Central and im not betting any money against them this time!!
  2. Well, all i have to say is, Lebanon IS GOING TO BE WATCHING FROM THE STANDS!!!!!!!!. who cares who they beat during the year, guess how much it matters now? ummmm none!!!!!!! as for wc, and rhea, im with bscon, ill back his hundred and drop another 100 on rhea---i do think it will be a good game but the kids from rhea play very very very hard
  3. WCHS Guy, you might wanna re-think that $100 dollar bet--Rhea county is a very tough and grity squad and I'm curious to see who's gonna step up and be the leader of that team. Biddle and Thomas seem to be the leaders but we'll see how they re-act under the lights!!!!
  4. o i agree--huge win for central and couldnt be prouder of them--just think they should save it for win they win the state--i agree its a huge huge huge win for the program but ther girls didnt do it so i dont think they should've. I hope they take it home personally but i think it was kinda weak-----congrats to coach bond, coach dykus and crew and i firmly believe that nathan thomas is going to be one of the state's premier players in the future--best of luck to the wildcats
  5. Now i'm very happy for the wc wildcats for their win and representing district 9aaa but did anyone else at the game think the celebration was a little much. I understand that it is a HUGE step for the program and all, but cutting down the nets? i just thought that was a little much--i can almost guarantee that none of the other teams going to state went to that extent. Kind of got the idea that they didnt think they should be there and so they took advantage of the opporutnity. Again, congrats to the wildcats but tone it down just a notch, focus on rhea county
  6. ok well due to my lack of knowledge on Glencliff, i have a few questions-- number one is has Glencliff played anybody that will get in the half court and lock down on defense and play solid man to man or zone defense? Hendersonville can lock down in the half court and play very very tough defense. Has jamont and Glencliff faced that this year? just a couple of questions but i have a feeling coach west will have a very good gameplan for the game and im expecting h'ville to pull it off. Best of luck to both teams
  7. couldnt agree more theone0---mooney is a very very bad coach---i think 3 years ago he had swader, brett warner, and the other guys that slip my mind but were absolulty incredible athletes--michael hicks was one of the guys and i think another was ben sage is those names are correct--one of the best teams talent wise ive seen in 9aaa in a while and he did really nothing with it----Smyrna will not be back next year--they only have 1 legit scorer in the younger warner and thats it
  8. sorry guys---dont get me wrong--mario is an incredible athlete-in the 9aaa finals he caught a crazy oop from darden i think and it was incredible--but overall skill i think bradnon runs with it--if mario can develop a 12-15 foot jumper he might get brandon but for now its brandon
  9. Wushy---Mario is a good player, but best sophmore in the state....there's a fella at Brentwood Academy by the name of Brandon Wright who would make Mario look like a little school girl. Obvioulsy a LaVergne fan.
  10. fanatic--big players step up at big times--can darden do it? i guess we will find out tonight--best of luck to both teams
  11. well good comment suhiy since last year in tourney time helton held darden to a whopping 6 points---yes 6---think before you speak brother--good players step up when its needed
  12. the mj bears looked strong tonight---played hard and played together......two pretty impressive wins the last 2 games so keep your eye out
  13. LaVergne is definalty the front runner but they have to keep their heads--last year they had the 2 seed and lost first round to mj so if they keep their heads than no doubt the obvious front-runner
  14. A lot of it has to do with who wins it really--i can say that for the reg. season mvp, if there was one, i think it would be darden. LaVergne was supposed to be down this year but he took it over and got em to where they are so congrats chris. I still say h'ville has to be the favorite in the tourney- they are the most mentally tough team ive seen and theres no telling how coach west can get them to play. I also think you need to keep an eye on Wilson Central, Mt. Juliet, and Gallatin. i say Gallatin because its at Gallatin and luna is heck of a coach. Best of luck to all
  15. being neither for nor against mj---what was the purpose of this post? you are obviously just trying to get something started--thats cool if you feel that way but im sure not many people care
  16. hey wushy101---first thing's first for the wolverines---GET OUT OF THE FIRST ROUND!!!!!!! if im not mistaking, i believe a 7th ranked Mt. Juliet squad came in and knocked off the #2 squad of lavergen. BTW, how many yeasrs has it been since LaVergne did get out of the firts round??????? wushy--just make sure your wolverines take it one step at a time
  17. Well to be honest, the mj basketball program has been a little screwed up the last 3 years. First off, i really dont care what anybody says, Coach Deering got screwed. The team lost 8 seniors and the starting five the year after had 1 returning starter. Of course the team isnt going to do that well with that kind of situation. I thought Coach Deering was an excellent coach but he did get screwed. Second off, to all the coach Cutlip nay-sayers--tell me if you've ever heard this--"There's only so much coaching a coach can do until it is turned over to his players" I've seen practices, I know about the program--he works hard to get his guys ready to play, but after a while the players have to do something. Although, i dont agree with all of his decisions, there's only so much he can do now. There is a mjor lack of senior leadership on that team if you ask me. I feel there is maybe 1 or 2 players that accept the leadership role and other than that it's nowhere. I think the parents need to quit jabbering just because their son doesnt get playing time---get over it!!!!! They may not be performing the way you think they can in practice, so they dont play, so you parents start jabbering about it and everything. Coach Cutlip and Coach Deering are two very good coaches and if Coach Cutlip gets fired then Mt. Juliet basketball might as well give up because you can't bring in a new coach every 2-3 years and be successful.
  18. Holly Hudson from Mt.Juliet has to be. According to the Tennesseean she has the most 3 point shots made in the mid-state right now so that has to count for something.
  19. Although i didnt know this, apparently there is a new guy on the bench with the lady bears. After asking around i found out it was Mark Purvis, the head baseball coach who also apparently has a keen sense on the hardwood. With Chris, John, and ive heard good things about Mark Purvis (good motivator mainly) this young team could possibly have a great staff to do some damage in the state tourney.
  20. My aplogies enigma---read your post a little to fast but after the re-read i see what your saying. Again my apologies. And for HUCK i couldnt agree more, Coach Simms is a brilliant guy when it comes to the game and he to is a really good guy from what i've heard. Keep it up lady bears!!!!! sorry again engima:)
  21. enigma--just curious on why you think hes not good with the x's and o's. To me i would think he had to be doing something more than having his girls play hard to have the success he does. Just curious on why you say that.
  22. Well, I personally don't know what the guy is like but it seems to me he has to be one of the better coaches out there. Last year taking a very very young team to state and already this year beating shelbyville. I'm not for sure but i think these numbers may be right or close to it--i THINK hes been the coach for 8-9 years and im thinking 3-4 state tourney appearnaces. Thats not all bad. I just keep hearing about coach Insell and everything and i just think that a guy that does things right should get some recognition. Good luck to the bears and Coach Fryar.
  23. whoever keeps sayin that lavergne is gonna win isnt very bright--lavergne chocked it off last year with their "big time players" with darden and koger hear that CHOKED!!!!!!! a better mt julit team won that game and a load of the talent that helped them in their late season run is back again. Central is to out of control--they are all about themselves--if coach bond can get a hold of them and biddle will be a leader they could be a force but as of now....................... NO!!!!!! as for mj--seen em play this year against northwest and they played well--the pressure defense they play is tough and coach cutlip has them playing hard but the onnly thing with them is what happens if they get down---i think a lot of people will look to helton to take over and i think hes capable but what if he's having an off night?? who steps up--as for h/ville and gallatin they will be there due to their coaching--coach luna and coach west are great coaches and wicke is one of the better players ive seen--theres 9/aaa for ya right there
