Maybe you can explain the part of your post about the mystery of why UC parents chose to send their kids to a school 10 miles away and then those of us outside Obion Co. will understand and appreciate the reason a town of 10800 has an enrollment of 442 students . no whining here my friend , just the facts please.... like i said, classification didn't exist in my day but it does now ... play on even ground !! Congrats to UC 75-19 & HUM. 90-39 over Glea. By the way, congrats to Gleason girls but mens bball is a whole different matter , so that example is rare.

hey 350 ,why do most kids go to OCC if they live in UC ? Troy is in southern Obion co. Are students allowed to go where they want ? also, no excuses here,small schools have defeated large schools before and Middleton will handle both Hum. & UC this year. Peabody,LC&Halls could all upset them too! If the underdogs win its meaningful , if the big dogs win it just something that shoud happen anyway and nothing out of the ordinary . do you really think Gleason and Bradford shoud have to compete with Hum. & UC . i remember Huntington girls defeating Carroll Acad. 115- 10 or so (Huntington is real proud of that one ! )

how is it a town with 10000+ population has only 391 students (according to GoUC from So. Fulton?) in 4 classes ! How can this be and why ? Are all the people in Union City above the age of 30 with no children ? Did they all drop out of school ? Are they home schooled ? What happenened to the kids ,alien abductions in UC ? I saw this Happen when Mitchell High was allowed to compete in 1A classification until last year with unfair tactics by coach Johnson and open enrollment in Memphis. With 10000 pop. ratios say you should have at least 700 students in school unless there is a sterility problem in that community ! by the way Middleton has a pop.of 623 and enrollment of 339 , I cant figure that out either!! UC & Humbolt are not to blame unless they monkeyed with their numbers , but hey when i played ball there was no classification at all !!! Good luck to all 14a sshools even if it is unfair. Humboldt and Union City should go deep into post season play since the tssaa in all their wisdom gave them unfair advantage over other district foes for the near future! want proof ? check the numbers and try to explain the discrepancies in the ratios and the obvious edge these schools were awarded in this 10 team district ! If the Vikings or Tornadoes lose in district play to anyone but each other it will surprise me . There is strength in numbers unless you have good players transfer in to these small towns.(

you don't walk into HCHS (or any gym for that matter) before the game and announce and pronounce yourself #1 or show your rear end in the press by saying you are 10 pts. better than a team like the Tomcats ! what was this coach Johnson thinking !! did he not have a clue what kind of a team he was facing without throwing fuel to the fire that is the Haywood Tomcats! he should remember this ...Pride comes before the Fall...from what ihear about MHS they needed to learn some lessons in humbleness and they came to brownsville and got a little taste they can ponder on for a while ! Others will have respect for you if you show respect for your opponents and running scores up on weak teams shows just what kind of person or coach you really are and reveals your true character. its not all about the stats ! its about team play ask the players and coach Petino of Haywood!

the threes didn't fall for LC to start their runs and P got great pt from their freshmen, steady play from everybody else and Doaks played his normal game (overpowering ), and LC was done . Tide fans , look back one year and just think how much your fortunes have changed and lo and behold......... you have the same coach ! What a difference a year can make . Good Job Tide and and also good luck to Falcons &Tide as they rep. 16A & 8A in sectionals Mon. Nite !!!!

so dont include these type of games( that dont count) on the reg. season schedule if you dont want the loss to count ! a tie ?! wonder if Munford considers this game a tie ?( or just MC score poster)

powderpuff schedule + overatting by fans who go by wins vs. loss against such a poor schedule = disappointment when the games really count vs. good teams such as JCS . Lex. falls into this cat. also . big talk catches up with stat watchers & pretenders this time of year.

thanks wish for the post on that , i wasn't there and that really sounds like a likely senario . i listened to the game by radio and really enjoyed the flow and pace and wish nothing but continued sucess for Temple and for that matter the rest of the schools that made an appearance at M'boro ! and oh yeah...... GO HALLS TIGERS !!!!!!

all the newspapers are reporting that Halls called t/o with 2.6 sec left and refs ignored it and left the court . is this true? if so , why did that happen ? WOW!!! in this game anything could have happened with players like Halls have !!!!!!!!

tough loss for the jackets , but Shane ought to act like a man, acknowledge the efforts of Grace, accept the results and move on.

the end of the game worked out like a movie script for Temple and they took advantage of Halls' agressiveness on trying to score to quickly( and also the blown fts.

i don't think the coach lost this game for you , i just think C.P.A. was just a good team playing well, and Rockwood was a good team that couldn't score . it happens like that sometimes and it's very disappointing to watch! please don't blame the coach , C.P.A. 's very good !!!! good season Rockwood , there's always next year!!!

Tigers give game to overmatched Temple on poor ft shooting (5-11) and 2 key missed fts with seconds left . to tell the truth, i really didn't think Temple could hang with the Tigers but they did ,and deserve to move on by beating the better team ! Good Luck Temple!!!!!!!

i don't know much about Grace, but i think Greenfield will win this game. Shane & Blackburn should lead the jackets to semifinal .

if your using coacht's strength of schedule it uses a scoring margin of points scored against the other team which is flawed because one team could run up the score against a weak team and that makes the scoring margin wider . halls did not run the score up on any one and i respect coach jarrett for that . as far as Temples schedule being tougher i disagree . we will all see come wed. who is the best and good luck to both teams!!

wkid87,if bballfever says it was a charge ,it was a charge, this guy loves Halls but he loves bball more !! he knows it inside and out (along with baseball too!) Middleton took itself out of their gameplan and can only blame themselves for the result . 17 pts. in the 2nd half by not being aggressive against a team who is always aggressive , did them in ! your coach stiffeled his team by trying to milk the clock and shorten the game and by doing so shortened Middelton's season.maybe you should attempt being a referee and do something about tssaa ref problems instead of complaining about it when your team loses. bad calls happen to all teams , but if fever says it was a good call, rest assured it was , there isn't a biased thought in his soul , just a true love of the game !!

Dane Strayhorn is one of the most underrated and overlooked players in the state ,heck even in his district (16) he was snubbed by biased coaches for some silly reason that is still unanswered.will someone please answer this! at the start of the year he was the go to man, but as the season progressed others on this team improved and now you can't double him or you will pay for it !! D. Patrick( fr.)and R. Patrick are now seasoned players and Dane & Lajoel Nance don't have to worry about the foul situation and can let it all hang out on defence with help coming from the bench.this is a tough ,talented team that is battle tested by the fact of playing a very tough schedule of class AA and AAA teams. your boys better get ready to run with these guys up & down the floor ,cause they never give up.their tallest player is 6'1"(W. Tates),a very good reb.&def. player who jumps well and has a good shot . R. Richmond ,pg, is cat quick and can shoot well also. J. Roberts is a tough and seasoned defender who can reb. & shoot also .overall this is a solid team who can play with the best as is shown by their record and results this year . good luck Tigers & Crusaders !!!! they field about 12 players and all can play if asked .
