Now Oliver Springs takes the trip to ole E-town....I haven't seen them play this year or heard about how they play. I've just heard that they're good. What makes them good? What do they do that impresses everyone? Comments, please

Wow, the Lady Cyclones laid it on Pigeon Forge tonight! What a great game, ladies!! I think we proved a lot of people wrong tonight...we can play with these people...and we hope to make it state, although it doesn't seem like a lot of people have that much confidence in us, lol. I think we're a pretty under rated team in this region. We hope to beat South Greene tomorrow night in the finals (they are a very very good team! I watched them play Unicoi tonight...they have awesome teamwork!) so we can play a home substate game. However, even if we don't, we're still excited to be in this great position. But it should be an awesome game. The Lady Cyclones put on a show, I believe. It looked as if PF just gave up in the second half. I know they probably didn't bring their best game tonight, but it's tournament time, and one off-night can kill you. Congratulations to the PF Tigers and an outstanding season...and let's go Lady Cyclones!! We're goin' all the way! We'll miss hearin' about smokin' granny, but she's in a better place now. We love ya, coach, and we're hear for ya!!

Well, Elizabethton knows the odds are against them, and that's just one more reason I'm pulling for them. I believe this is going to be an awesome game...both semifinal matches will be actually. The turn out should be interesting. Whoever brings their minds and their A game will take home a victory. GO LADY CYCLONES!!

And you might wanna watch some tapes of Unicoi games...i believe THEY are the ones throwing the elbows...we just do it in retaliation (which i'm not saying is a good thing) Anyway...championship game tomorrow night...2 key players injured from both teams. It's gonna be a show.

To quote an excellent movie...Little Rascals... "If I was your father, I would punish you children!!"..... "If you were my daddy, I'd punish myself!" I have never seen a team with such relieved expressions on their faces after leaving AL John Treadway gymnasium Tuesday night as the Unicoi Lady Devils. It was a great game, and this will definately get the Lady Cyclones pumped! They had no idea we were coming that strong. The Cyclones will lose 4 seniors this year, but will have 3 starters returning, and some VERY talented young players coming up, too.

Elizabethton played great. Proved they have the talent to play with the Devils, and could possibly beat them. They went without their 2 best players (Baughman and Redd) into 2 overtimes, and kept it close until the last minute...that's okay though, 13 more days...

Speaking of JV, now that Hughes is playing JV, and not yet eligible for varsity...what does this do to Elizabethton's JV? Does it change anything? And now that Pietrowski is back playing, along with another new post player, will this change any starting lineups? Will anyone's playing time be cut short? Still expect to be #1? Comments, please!

Elizabethton's JV is very good! With only 8 players for most of the season, they have managed to maintain a 10-1 overall record, and a solid 7-0 in district play. Now with 11, they should be even better! That senior that transferred from North will be a dangerous weapon, and expect to hear a lot of whining going on, but if she is eligible by TSSAA rules, then people can get over it, it's not anyone's fault. With talented freshmen like Hopson and Pietrowski constantly improving, and the leadership of those awesome sophomores Treadway and Crapps, Elizabethton should have an bright future! Good luck Lady Cyclones! Beat the warriors!

I know this is the Elizabethton/Central game thread....but is it true that Hampton got beat by Volunteer on Friday night? What happened in this game?

Excellent post CC, I agree with every word. The Cyclones have a lot of older talent, but their younger players are often underrated. The two sophomores and freshmen see quality playing time every game. Also correct, both TAD teams are very talented. The Lady Cyclones have a VERY bright and hopeful future. Next on the list: Johnson County Thoughts or predictions?

"# 5 cyclones in carter co." Dude, it's basically just an opinion right now...and obviously you're the only one who thinks Elizabethton is anything less than first. Do you REALLY think that bothers us? Ummm......here's a hint..... NO! Whoever said that the players had no control over their schedule is absolutely correct. Most of the players know nothing about a game wanting to be played, and even if they did, it wouldn't matter anyway. And what member of the EHS staff exactly said no to this game? Haha, countin' down the days until Feb. 3.....
