  1. That's OK. Even the Tennessean, that rag, only gave you (a HOMETOWN team! ) a little bitty write up. Out of town teams got more ink that we did! Whatever. Go to the 'boro and have fun. You deserve it. Good luck and now we can put Cougars2State to bed...at least for this year.
  2. Don't count your chickens just yet, Mom.
  3. Dang, Chris, were these all put-backs and lay-ups? No 3s (from anybody)??? Whatever. GREAT game, boy!
  4. ATTN: Bolivar Fans At Lipscomb? In their gym? Fugetaboutit! 'Less you can beat 8. Touch foul city!
  5. No matter how much 'jabbering' is done, we'll NEVER be jealous of a big 'L!' Now, on with tha show!
  6. It's time for the Coug's to make another run. Keep the pressure on the perimeter, make 'em pay down low and find the open CJ or Chris (if one or both get hot, it's over!). And don't forget about the 'role players.' The unsung heroes sometimes become stars when the game is on the line. Everybody knows the Big 3. GP's bench will have to step up. It's do or die, so leave it on the floor. Football players should NEVER beat basketball players at their own game. NEVER!
  7. Hendersonville is good, sometimes great, year in and year out because of one guy: Coach West. He knows his stuff and is one ex-player that has empathy for his players (and, from what I've seen, gets along with them, too). He's 'been there, done that.' I like him because he gives his players the freedom they deserve and is flexible. Hope y'all go far. You deserve it. Oh, and one more thing: Michael Hubert IS.....A.....PLAYAAA!! And Hugo: WHAT a story!
  8. Good one. If you'll notice, the screenname has no date attached, so, as we should be, I'm perpetually optimistic that it will happen...someday. I'm just not as confident at predictin' when.
  9. If I was SC, I'd rather it had been GP in a blowout! Look for the Cougs to bounce back...BIG TIME!
  10. Catsball-boy, Look, this is sad. You should be concentrating on playin' ball and not spending so much time defending your play, or lack thereof, on this website. Your sleuthing skills aren't too good either. You're 6'9" for goodness sake. You should be dominating...every game that you're healthy. But, you ain't, so what's up? As far as the CJ incident, it was a cheap shot that could've gotten ugly. If y'all are lucky enough to play us again, and I hope you are, he'll be ready, I assure you. Every good shooter wants to be fouled, within the rules...but not injured. Bad attitude? Talk about being negative. CJ's a good kid. Is he aggressive? Yes. Does he have a swagger to him? Yes. Can he back it up? He has so far. And one thing's for sure, he don't play cheap. He plays hard, but he's not lookin' to hurt anybody...like your boy #15. My advice: Spend some time working on your turnaround and your drop step. And quit letting your jealousy show so much. As far as I know, Mitch Dever don't even look at this crap. He's too busy working, going to school and trying to get better. I'll tell him you were asking about him, though.
  11. You and StationCamp-boy must be the same person. You may know me, but I've never (HONEST!) attended a school in Greenbrier or in Robertson Co. ... in my life (it's a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there...with all them tractors! - ). But, you keep on spekalatin'. Apparently, you're good at it. I stand by my statement. #15 can't play and cut CJ's legs out from under him, from behind, ON PURPOSE, NOT GOING FOR THE BALL. Film doesn't lie, even though I don't need it to confirm what I, and everybody else with pretty good vision, saw. Maybe you should watch it sometime. If it would've been you, I'd say the same thing. By the way, why do you play so soft? And it's OK to say so, if 'something just ain't right.' Don't be so politically correct all the time. Somebody famous once said, "If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything." Just tell the truth. Sometimes it hurts, but it's still the right thing to do.
  12. Chris is a good player. Fouls and a quick yank by the coach hurt him, but he'll be back. He's a good high school player that has plenty of upside to play somewhere at the next level. Cherry picking...PLEEZE! Give yourself a break. You sound like a man with a paper...well, I'll leave it at that. Frey rose to the occasion. Davis got beat up with NO protection from the refs (even got his legs cut out from under him by a bench-warming senior that can't play a lick), but still played well in spurts. Like I said before, Buchanan is good. You're just jealous of what he's done before now. I believe he's got a lot left. We'll see. Role players did a good job and the free throw shooting was almost perfect. You're EXACTLY right! Larry Bird was a cherry picker, an in-your-eye shooter and a hustler. So is Steve Nash. Nothing wrong with that. Made a nice living doing it, too. Some people just have a knack. The ones that don't get on CoachT and whine!
  13. TrojanMan, I'm sorry if I've offended you. Please forgive me.
  14. I'm in therapy to try to do better! LOL! Sorry to hear 'bout the nose, though. TC
  15. Huh? I heard ya...5 times! LOL! (Hint: When you hit the 'Add Reply' button...). Whatever. I thought he competed very well in AA. And he loved his teammates. I DO know that! Dever's dad had absolutely nothing to do with this. Mitch asked to go to Metro and his parents let him do what he wanted. In fact, they DID NOT want him to transfer, but... It's not like he was asking to lie, cheat or steal something from GP. And it's a free country, ain't it? He STILL likes the school...and the players and still hangs out with a lot of the guys from there. You, though, TrojanBoy...he probably wouldn't like. 'Cause you know everything! He told me that if he had it to do over again, he'd stay at GP, play all 3 sports and go out with a bang! Too late now. Also, I heard (can't confirm, sorry) that lil Deev came down there the other night with Greenbrier Middle and tore them up, too, even though they lost. (Before you start TrojanBoy, this ain't Mitch braggin' on his little sis, either; just statin' a rumor I heard, ma'am)
  16. Good screen name...for a ding-dong. You need a new one, though: Clueless! LOL! You must be blind then.
  17. Keep it up and hope Coach don't put the brakes on. Go 'head CJ, Zack and Chris. We're keeping up witcha. Good luck...down the district stretch and beyond.
  18. They're not TSSAA. They play in the Christian school-sanctioned TAACS. Yeah, Chris Goodwin is their best player, but they have others. Won't compete with other good, small TSSAA schools, though, except, of course, Davidson Academy (boy, was THAT an ugly one!). Anyway, Goodwin did play for Metro Christian last year along with other 'multi-transfers' (you can transfer all you want in this so-called 'league' ). They'll beat most of their opponents, but won't be able to compete with Goodpasture, Ezell, etc. this year. They MAY compete with DCA, CPA, FRA and Montessori (maybe not; heard they're much-improved) if they play them ????
  19. catsbball...dude...you're up WAY too late! Did 'coaching' have anything to do with this, by chance?
  20. If Coach Cutcliffe comes back, watch out. He not only brings experience, but discipline also. And Lord knows, they need that...BAD! I know for a fact that Fulmer (and other big-time coaches) came to GP to recruit him. It was almost a daily occurrence. I don't think they overlook players from here, necessarily. What about David Holbert, Gerald Riggs, Jr., Austin Rogers, LaMarcus Coker, etc.? The way it is right now, Pat made a great choice. Only time will tell if it was a good long-term decision or not. He's a nice kid, though. And it's been kind of cool keeping up with him. I wish him the best!
  21. He's doin' alright. Nice article: http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/ar...471/1002/SPORTS Makes me think of all those people who said Pat wasn't the 'real D1 deal' 'cause he played 1A small school football.
  22. He's a rhythm player. Hope Coach don't put 'handcuffs' or 'brakes' on him. Did Zack Frey play for you, too?
  23. *I heard (an unfounded rumor) that CJ went to prep school in NC ?????* No, the biggest difference in this re-alignment is the absence of MLK. Also, Kyle Herndon's return to the hardwood is going to be the difference in this team. He's a pure 1 (has JayWil vision, which you'll soon find out). From what I've seen, Caton is a 2, which will be the perfect compliment for the big dogs (posts). And here's a little advice: ALWAYS have your eye on the ball and your hands ready, 'cause li'l Herndon will deliver the pill when you ain't expecting it...if you're open. Good luck this season. I love this new district. Just wish Springfield was still in it.
