  1. Big you have been drinking the cool-aid again. Back in the day... when Cascade played MtP every year, you could count on a good showing any time the two teams played. Cascade hasn't changed... they still come to play even if their opponent is 3 - 0.
  2. Cascade probably doesn't have the size or the speed this year that they have had in the past but... they have lost to 2 of the better teams in 2A. They are obviously better than everybody on this thread thought they were. Fayetteville probably overlooked Cascade and didn't play their best game but that is "football". You can't overlook anybody because "on any given night anybody's team can beat anybody else's team". I would not be surprised if what the Cascade players read on this thread last week motivated them to play their best game of the year last night. The Hosses aren't done yet and FHS may need to adjust their playoff plans just a bit.
  3. If it's not Girls Basketball, it doesn't count in Cannon Co.
  4. The difference in this game was conditioning. Watertown was cramping-up all over the field. Cascade, on the other hand, didn't have one guy go down with cramps. They have worked hard in the off season to get in shape and it paid off last night. Watertown has a lot of size and probably out weighted Cascade 30 lbs a man across the board... but I'll take strength and speed over size any time. Congratulations to Coach Jake on his first win as a head coach.
  5. The Cascade Football program has come a long way in the last few years and the potential is there for continued success. Kenny Parker has always focused on developing each player as an individual. The Bell Buckle / Wartrace communities have supported Cascade School in all aspects of the school's endeavors. This Coaching job would be a great opportunity for a man with a laid-back, easy going approach to coaching. Coach Parker will be a hard act to follow but for someone who wants to step into a successful program and keep it moving upward, this is the idea opportunity.
  6. Well, I've watching this topic all week and enjoying the infighting. Speaking as a Cascade fan, we are just really glad to be playing Friday night. This is our first year of 3A ball, having moved up from 2A last year. Our expectations, starting the season, were not that high and making the playoff's, well, just a dream. But, here are and we have played some pretty good football teams to get to this point and we have learned a lot in the process. I'm sure that Noter Dame is bigger and faster that Cascade and we don't have much of a chance... but we will show up and play anyway and we'll see what the score board says then the game is over.
  7. We will give it our best shot. That's all I can promise. The team has had a tendency to play their best against the toughest opponents. I hope that tendency continues tonight. Good luck Champs
  8. Really sorry to hear that the band won't be there... The Cascade band is a big part of who "we" are and they make the game a lot more exciting. I know that a lot of parents of band members won't be at the game because they will be at the completion on Sat also... bummer...
  9. The forecast for Thursday is not looking good... 1-3 inches. I hear CPA's field doesn't dry out that well. This may be a good omen. The Champs love to play in the mud.
  10. The Cascade Champions are coming off a good win last Friday night at Jo Byrns and will hit the road back North again this Friday. CPA is ranked number one in everybody's pole and I don't expect Cascade to be able to do a lot to change that. I think the Champions will show up and give it their best effort. Who knows, the Champions might surprise some people. From what I hear, CPA doesn't have a band. CPA folks, get ready for a real treat because Cascade has one of the best bands in the state... in any classification.
  11. Cascade played their game and won. I enjoy the trip to Jo Byrns, but it would be a lot better if I didn't to go thru Nashville. I spent at least an hour extra in traffic because of a wreck on 24-40 by LP Field. I didn't get to Cedar Hill until game time. CPA next week... that should be interesting.
  12. MOTO, Cascade lost to Page last week 20 -21. Their QB was the offensive player of the year last year in 12AA which includes CPA and Giles Co. He is good but our guys intercepted him 3 times and knocked down several other attempts. Page's defense, which was the difference in the game, had not been there all year but they showed up last week. So, no matter what we think will be the difference in tonight's game, it probably won't be any of the things that we thought it would be. Coach Adkins and Coach Parker will both have a new wrinkle up their sleeves tonight. You can count on that... they always do...
  13. The Champs are playing some pretty good ball this year. Offense has scored a lot of points... mostly off the running game but our passing attack is pretty good also. We are most improved on the defensive side of the ball. It will be interesting to see if we can keep up with JBs QB... I think that will be the difference in the game... if we cam slow him down we win, if not we lose. Looks like it's going to be a cold night... good football weather. I'll be there early to get my pork chop sandwich and the latest scoop on who to watch and how the game is going to go. I always enjoy the Cascade - Jo Byrns match up and there have been some good ones over the years... but I sure don't look forward to the long drive...
  14. I know you guys are missin' "Ol Horse Head" but now that he has become a star on his version of "Friday Night Lights" he really doesn't have time to get on here and blow about the Champs. I don't really look forward to the trip to "Smokey Valley" every other year, mostly because the Red Devil's seem to have our number, even in years when we should have won. The Champs are playing pretty good ball, maybe we have a chance this year. I guess I'll keep coming back because you have one of the best concession stands anywhere and one of these days somebody is going to blow an engine all over the home town crowd and I don't want to miss that. The Champs should take this one...
  15. Still the same... let me redefine the problem... Internet Explorer remembers my username and password. that's not the problem. What has changed is that I use to stay logged in to CoachT even though I exited the site and closed IE. Now I have to login each time I connect to the site.
  16. Sounds like a good game... I hope no one will mind if I say, "I told you so"
  17. I am one of the "chain guys" and I usually try to get off the field when the game is over... I didn't know anything happened... whatever it was, it's too bad... it was a good game between two evenly matched teams. Looking back Cascade could have won this game 3-4 different ways; missed extra point, two missed field goals, failing to score from inside the 2 yard line, twice... What I like about high school football... you can never predict what is going to happen form one game to the next. I thought, from what I had heard about Page it would be Page's offense against Cascade's defense. Page's defense was a lot better than advertised, especially their goal line stand (twice... which was the difference in the game) it was obvious that the Page's coaches and players had studied the film and knew what was going to happen. It was a tough one to lose...
  18. I have the same problem... have to log in every time... clicked "remember me"... cookies are enabled... CoachT is the only site that I have this issue with... something has changed... problem started 2-3 weeks ago... I have noted that I have a restore point for 9/19/2013 for your site... was there a change at this date?
  19. From a Cascade fan, Moore Co. didn't look very good and didn't even score against the Champions; Community played hard, the game was in doubt until the 4th quarter and Community could have won the game with a few breaks. That being said, home field advantage makes lot of difference. The Community game was at Community and the Moore Co. game was at Cascade. If Community plays as hard against Moore Co. as they did against Cascade they can win this game.
  20. I hope the wagon is not too loaded... we'll see tonight...
  21. Hopefully Cascade can put a little pressure on #7... it's hard to throw the ball when you are running for your life. Cascade is coming off their bye week and should have some players back healthy that can help keep the pressure of the Page QB. Page has scored a lot of points, even in the games they have lost. Cascade’s defense has improved with each game and I believe they are up to the task of slowing down Page’s passing attack. There will be lots of points scored in this game; I believe Cascade will score a few more than Page. The seating on the visitor’s side at Cascade is inadequate, to say the least. The home side is a little better but not much. The school has experienced a lot of growth in the last 10 years and the welfare of the student has taken priority over football seating. We are new to Class AA this year and I am sure that our facilities will “catch up†as we continue to grow. In the mean time bring your folding chair.
  22. Well it is Wed. and not a word about this game. It sure is quiet out there. I’ll see if I can get something started… Cascade has done better than most people expected them to do in their first year in AA. Page has not had a lot of success this year. I know a lot about Cascade and almost nothing about Page. My sister use to teach math at Page and back then they called themselves “the other Williamson Co. schoolâ€. I hope Cascade is not overlooking Page… they have lost 4 games but they have scored a lot of points and played some really good teams. I think Cascade and Page are pretty evenly matched and the outcome of the game will not be determined until late in the game. Cascade wins 35 – 28.
  23. I'm glad to hear that the Moore Co. player is OK. It is hard to believe that none of the coaches knew he was out but I'm sure there was a lot going on at the time. I carry the down marker and he was out cold when I passed by him at halftime. I stopped and he was not coming around and didn't until the EMT's got there. They need to keep an eye on him for a few days because he must have been out for at least 10 minutes.
