  1. Okay Daddy Young, in my opinion, you had the finest Frosh given the weight class. BCB was a close second. Congrats!! H-ville will have one of the finest next year. My brother and I couldn't find you (Jakesdad) and The vol for the tag team match. Maybe next year. Great job BB. One stat MANY OF YOU MAY NOT KNOW IS THE FASTEST TECH FALL. It was in the first period by a wrestler that stepped it up in state some Clue: He got 4th from region 8

    Champs?

I hope my ND friends liked the bracket my NY friend got fot them Congrats and lots more to come it appears!! Well we didn't get the gold, but we gave Kellan and others a tough match and won a few... I'm proud of my Spence for getting there, and two more coming up!! 13 year old - 70 lbs. and another 11 and same weight. Hopefully the rumors of our middle school are false and coach Garner can continue to work with them. Thanks Coach Gonyea, Angelo and Bobby & others for all of the hard work and sacrafice. Thanks to my wife and family for all of the sacrafice,,, so far. Soms
  3. BCB's beads looked quite becoming so much so that sassylongandlean had to take a back seat to that unforgettable glare. No stovepipe or hesbeenedpinned ref sightings yet at McKenzie. No tag team match ups yet, but we're having fun, especially with Smyrna in the top 30, up from 180th last year with zero entries
  4. Very close!! 103 you never know for sure, there may be a freshman Irishman or another Overton surprise. 112 should be D. Johnson. 119 will come down to the wire, right HT? 152 should be interesting since Wright hasn't lost this season. 215 could be interesting, but I don't want to get Rigger fired up. Oh, Fuller not winning at 135 would be interesting, although Konz is capable of taking him.
  5. Especially on the Ridgeway score See ya in Chatt-twon.
  6. Don't be afraid to look me up too "HBPF", and anyone else like momma Heffington, who is?????. We havn't had a healthy exchange for some time now. I'll be there in black or gray Smyrna attire. The Gut may not be as large because of training hard for the Vol/Jakesdad tag team match. I had to get under 200 pounds, but my brother was not able to get under 240. My head is looking more like sly's, The B-Bear and RMC's now, however. As far as hair,,, I will never match the Vols thickness, Raider76's gray, Tex23's golden brown, BCB's curls and certainly not JT"s ponytail length or wrestle90's for that matter.
  7. Coach Fuller is correct. Thanks. Perhaps the two best meet early.
  8. There hasn't been a challenge this year for Bundy. His last challenge was Bo Usary, which I meant as a compliment, but my point was that Bundy knew he wasn't as prepared as he should have been and the loss was a boost to his preparation for a higher level of competition. McCroskey is actually a solid competitor and will give Bundy some challenge, but will have a difficult time staying within 5-6 points, as mentioned. I can visualize a single to a double with Bundy picking McCrosky up and carefully carrying him to the middle of the mat for 3 back points early in the match and this occurring more than once during the match. If McCroskey is not ready he could get teched, but not pinned in my opinion.
  9. He failed to prepare and felt he had another gold in the bag, he has said. Now he feels he is better prepared for the next level because of Bo.
  10. One of the finest posts from Mr cbg in a while now.
  11. Jon Kleinert is a fine young man and will go far the next few years. His big brother has to set the pace though!!!
  12. This fine young man has been solid the past four seasons and thinks the greatest thing he ever did was overlook Usary last season. His past four years of ROTC and decent grades + wrestling, offers him many options including West Point, Minnesota, perhaps UTC may be interested.
  13. Has Creagan and Jake Young wrestled yet? Could that be a finals match?
  14. Kelly Felix, Bundy and Minnwell have probably won all of their matches with ease this season (within the state of TN). Brandon Wright and Creagan have been nearly as dominant, similar to Manson, who can also bump up and win like they have all season (with the amazing Hussein, why would he need to though). Actually I wonder what the outcome would be between Hussein and Manson today? I bet close.
  15. I would agree. Bundy's intensity brings him to a level that compete with Manson, but Manson's skill level is most superior in TN. Bundy hasn't been challenged this season by anyone. Ooltewah's Freshman, Young will be amazing and already is. Sophomore, Ryan Konz jumped up from 112 challenging OW Danny Coleman to 135 this year and will still end up challenging senior, Ryan Fuller who only lost 3-1 to Manson earlier this year. How good is Demetrious Johnson? He is a force, I believe. Watch Smyrna's freshman 240 pounder the couple of years. Should be interesting.
  16. Maybe our boys can show us what they're made of? Good luck!! See you there.
  17. Hord was most improved in the tournament, I thought. Sergio looked very steady and smart and won as a result. No mistakes that would easily get you ion trouble with Kleinert. Great match!!! Great job to Jeff Roberts and team!! Other observations... Our Pher Dedman has been getting stronger match by match since Christmas and may be our strongest challenger for gold. Some others that have that opportunity are.... Brian D. who sure pulled up close to Shanes in this one. Very even match. So proud of Robbie Helms for putting together a good pay back match or two and great challenge to Opio @ 4-2. Congrats to Josh Bradford for doing what he had to and making it into the second period with N. Bundy. To Adam Dedman for fighting to the finish!!! And my son, Spencer, for overcoming some adversity on the mat and qualifying after a tough couple of years. Congrats on taking your fine coach Gonyea from goose eggs to SIX qualifiers to state this year!!!! Congrats to Tyler Eady for stepping in as HW, as a freshman and a couple of matches under your belt, and challenging seniors and other state qualifiers!!! Kyle Frazier for fighting with all you had to almost beat out Senior David Carter that earned a Best Match award on his way to state. Congrats to Kyle Bradford for his fight and struggle with that bum knee. Proud of you, Jered and all other that contributed & cut weight to the team's success. Most impressed with Miles-140 of Springfield and the team as a whole. They art peaking and should make some noise at state!!
  18. Yes, but how do you feel now? Jet lag feeling?
  19. Springfield wins, Hendersonville pulls out second with most points coming in consolations & two in the finals. Beech nudges out Smyrna for third and also ran a super tournament. Great hospitality room and officiating! OW wrester was Bundy and Wilson Central's 171. Best match was David Carter of H-ville and Springfield's 160 pounder in the consol semi's. Carter is trooper!!! Smyrna improves from ZERO in 2005 to Six qualified for state in 2006.
  20. Play middle linebacker or fullback if you want a challenge girls.
  21. H-ville and Springfield looks tough. LaVergne is making noise. Beech and Smyrna should both take 5-7 to state and be vying for 3rd with LaVergne. Whitehouse has turned it on and is making a fine showing. Super preparation for this one!! OW may be Morrell at 152 or Opio @ 189, if not Bundy.
  22. Semi's Sat. AM. OW may go to Brett Morrell, if not Bundy. Snow has been light so far here. How's things in Ashland City for Region 9? Memphis must have gotten it.
  23. Got the scoop from Springfield folks tonight. Biting was not clear. Only the G-ville wrestler knows for sure. They feel he only forced his head down to the mat as he had a strong forearm against his upper teeth and cause a slight abrasion and a little blood, so the ref called the match. I did e-mail Springfield and the reply was the same. Let it stand, although the coaches did try to relax the suspension to no avail. The reply Admin... Dave, Some how many feel this is my decision but it is not. I understand how competitive wrestling is and situations do occur that are not in everyones best interest. I feel the decision was made on the mat and not at the school level concerning this situation. Greg Bell of Springfield
  24. They didn't show their true colors at the Knox-Catholic early in the season, but they were there with Baylor, Webb, H-ville and many others.
  25. I don't see Jim Morgan turning down some good competition either. Am I wrong JT, Mtnrassler, vol, sly & others?
