I am sure if you feel this is over priced that you and your wife could work the conecssion stand, keep the bathrooms clean, or run the bout sheets. then the other two members could watch your child wrestle. That way you save money , contribute to the sport and entertain your kids!!!! I know from experience that there is never enough help or money for the wrestling team. This is my 3rd child to wrestle and I tell you there is no other sport like it. They played them all and they will tell you nothing taught them the ethics of work like wrestling. Enjoy it.

I think they need to have a look at the way they do wrestling in general. If they give it the flexability(spelling sorry) that football has or close to it 3 divisions A, AA,AAA. I think we would see a great growth in the sport. An most of all dont tie it to any other sport in the school. I understand that TSSAA says it is a money issue to operate tourneys. But speaking for our boosters club and several others that I have spoke with we would not mind {doing like we do for other tourneys} paying a fee to offset the cost. The main thing is grow the sport.

One thing you will never have to worry about is the honesty and integrity of Jon Renner. And no I am not a Hill parent. But have know him for over 16 years. He truley loves this sport.

Results from Ravenwood for Greeneville 103 Matt King 2nd 125 Caleb Myers 2nd 152 Joel Brimer 3rd 171 Charlie Arrington 3rd 285 Eric Tison 2nd Greeneville had several other wrestler who wrestled good and finished up 5th but they only gave medals thru 3rd.

Greeneville is not able to attend.

Greeneville wrestled at the Cherokee (NC) Duals 12/28-29. Greeneville was one of 11 teams(had one noshow) they wrestled 10 duals and won 9. With a loss to Enka N C (who won) Greeneville finished 2nd. I know Greeneville had 4 or 5 undefeted wrestlers, 103 Matt King ,125 Caleb Myers, 152 Joel Brimer, 171 Charlie Arrington. and I think 189 Spencer Jennings. Maybe someone else will give us some more info. I also know 135 Thomas Willett and 140 Justin Myers and 145 Tyer Aiken had a good outing.

I understand that the change from one division back to a small /large school division was done by a petition sent to all AD's and fowarded to TSSAA. I have sent a email every year (it seems forever) requesting that we have a true large /small school division. based on enrollment not tied to anyother sport. Maybe a united petition from the wrestling community would get something done. The one thing that I have heard and as fans we sometimes dont realize is the economics of running a tourney. I was told years ago when my older sons wrestled in a true small school division. That the reason for going to a one division tourney was because of the savings. My answer as a parent, booster, buisness man is either collect a fee from each team or wrestler. We have talked about it in our booter club and would not have a problem with paying a sponsorship fee to the TSSAA state tourney each year. WE JUST WANT TO SEE WRESTLING BE ALL IT CAN BE IN TN.

I also think we need Wrestling to stand on it own as small / large school. As it is now if the school is small and any other sport (except football) play AAA then wrestling is also Large school. We want the sport to grow. No way to get people involved quicker than have a state contender (in any sport). You will get more public and school support.

Greeneville wrestled Daniel Boone last night. I believe the score was 60-12.{thanks coach, getting old you know} greeneville won all except 189, 215 (3 ot) and 152. Maybe someone will post winners. Greeneville to Cherokee NC next week.
