  1. Coach Driggers has coached ONE game, and you already have him leaving. PLEASE!!!! This is a young team that will continue to improve as the season goes on. Is the schedule tough, you bet it is, just the region schedule is loaded. But this is a young team, which will have it's "growing" pains for awhile, but they will not lay down for ANYONE. As for last Friday, I saw some good things at times from the Rebs, but we also saw first hand Jax SS is a GOOD football team. Big, quick, and well coached. OC has a week off, and then travels to Ripley. GO REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Well, most will say that Jax SS is the favorite in this one, and that is understandable. This is usually a good team. OC did lose 16 seniors off last years team, and will enter the game looking for some younger players to step up. But as was posted earlier on this thread, OC will not back down from SS. OC is coming off the best effort thus far in the jamboree vs Lake Co. OC will be young, and will look to improve each time on the field. But coming into Troy thinking it's over just because your bus made the trip is not a wise move. SS will come ready to play, and I think so will OC. Coach Driggers first real game at OC, opening night, it's always a big event. And also the first time we see Jax SS in several years, I'm looking forward to it. This will be OC's first ever week 0 game. and it can be heard on 104.9 KYTN. GO REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. backintha....you are so RIGHT, Coach Bowling is a great coach, but is a BETTER person. He will do well, very well at D'burg, but more over HE does well in life, and the kids at D'burg will benefit from being around him.
  4. We WILL continue to pray for Merissa and for you guys as well. I do not know Merissa, but based on what I read of her on here she and her family has what it takes to face the road ahead. Our thoughts and prayers are with you from Obion Co. Please keep us updated as you can. God Bless you
  5. backintha...no i don't think so, she had blocks Thursday night, but foulded on those. The picture in the Jax Sun showed one of the fouls, that was not called. By the way, if you read that article in the jax sun, I don't know what game he was watching, but that is to be expected. NSHD...I am so GLAD to see someone agree with me on the fact that Ross is JAx NS's best player. Were it not for her, they lose. No blood no foul rule may be in effect AGAIN tonight, and even if it is, I still say D'burg will get the "W". NSHD....Good luck tonight, I'm looking at D'burg and the 'View in the regional finals.
  6. This goes out to the Rebel Train. Thanks to this group of kids from OC who night in and night out came out in force to support OC basketball. After some years of little student support at OC, this group, led by Weaks and Hendon stepped up and became a very vocal part of the game. It was fun to watch this group grow, and I hope that this will continue for years to come. The Train had fun every night, and you never knew what was coming next from the section. It has been fun!!
  7. You got a great coach in Coach Bowling. He is a solid football coach, and an even better person. Look for big things from D'burg football.
  8. I think D'burg will take this one. If the game is allowed to be as physical as the one Thursday night, it will indeed be a war. Someone has to find Ross #53 from Jax, and Clift #15. Holloway and Delk will be interesting to watch. Delk likes to block shots, and can get in foul trouble, if the fouls are called.
  9. Well the season came to an end last night in Jackson, as Northside won a VERY PHYSICAL game over OC. A cold third quarter did the Lady Rebels in. Good luck to the 13AA teams remaining, someone go bring it home. Although the season ended earlier than most of us hoped for, this was a very solid season for OC. 27 wins is a good season. This group will be back again next year, and will again be in the mix. Only one senior on the squad, Ashley Baldwin, a great young lady, who did get to play some last night in spite of a torn ACL., something most would not even try to do. As for the returning players, they will get back to work, and prepare for next season. With Roney, the Reedys, Williams, Mcgee, Butler, Eaves, and Fuzzell, who all played alot this year coming back, with some other quality players it should be a good one. Thanks ladies for a great season, and for the way you represent the school. The Lady Rebels are a class act both on and off the court. GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. tree....I hope you guys have to bring 2 or 3 buses, er... I mean passenger cars to get everyone there!! BE LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Glad to hear things are getting better, we'll keep praying......
  12. Old timer...Trust me, we will be there early, you ought to come out, and see the old school play, they are fun to watch. #1 vs #4, two Miss Basketball finalists go head to head. This could be a classic. OC must control the tempo of this one and I think they will, in a close one, OC will advance to face D'burg for a 4th time Saturday night. GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. In AA, all three are solid players, but the truth is Jana Roney is the most complete player of the three. Delk is a solid post player, and Ferris is an force inside, but Roney can play inside or outside, can play post or point. Having watched her play for three years now, her scoring numbers could be higher, but she chooses to play as part of the team. Her assist numbers are very good, and she has around 1,500 points in her career. She leads a very good team in scoring and rebounding. Jana is a great player, and even better young lady. While all three are good enough to win it, Roney is the most COMPLETE player. GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Having been thru a similar situation with my 9 year old son, I know the wear on her parents. It is tough to see your child in that situation. The best thing we found was to pray and depend on God to take care of things. We serve a BIG God, and he is in control. We continue to pray for her and her family, and I can assure you the thoughts and prayers from the Coacht family are a great comfort. We are with you Merissa from Obion Co.
  15. Well so much for those thoughts on the first round match-ups. It now will be: OC at Jackson Northside Milan at Fayette Ware Dyersburg hosts Covington Westview hosts U.S.J. Yes, Fayette Ware beat Jax NS, and USJ beat Covington. Everything has turned upside down. Now the Lady Rebels have the task of going to Jax Nside which will be now easy task. But it is time to get it done, and the Lady Rebs are coming off their best effort I think since they whipped Marshall Co. Ky in the Milan win. Go to the #1 ranked team in the state and get a win, tough, YES, but OC can and I think will get it done. Rebel Nation, its time to board the "TRAIN" and head to Jackson. Be there and BE LOUD. So what are the thoughts now that the teams are set. Who wins? Who goes home? side note: A BIG Congrats to Jana Roney, on being a finalists for Miss Basketball in AA. A great player, and a FINE young lady. GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Well so much for the trip to Fayette Ware for OC. Fayette just knocked off Jax NS. So the Lady Rebs will travel to Jackson Thursday night. In a good, I say OC gets the win. GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Our prayers continue for Merissa from Obion Co. and Rebel Nation. God bless her and her family. Keep us updated.
  18. Oh and yes I know region is not spelled "regiion" GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Yes, backintha....it is a long trip, but I expect to see the "train" in force there Thursday night. And if we do have to make that trip, look for the trip home to be a "happy" one.....after a Lady Rebel victory. GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. OC, Westview, Jackson Northside, Milan have all been talked about on this one. But you might want to take a good look at Dyersburg as well. The lady Trojans won the 13AA title, and are playing their best basketball at the right time. There is a possible OC/D'burg matchup in the semis of Reg 7AA, if they win thier first round games. If it happens, it will be a WAR. GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. Four top ten teams, (OC, Westview, Milan, and Jackson Northside), plus a VERY good Dyersburg team come into the region 7AA tournament. 14AA will play Monday night to finalize who goes where, but here's a guess at some of the matchups in the first round: OC at Fayette Ware Milan at Jax Northside Covington at Westview USJ at Dyersburg And if you look way ahead at the second round you could see: (again just a guess) Dyesrburg vs Obion Co Jax Northside vs Westview This should be a great tournament, and whichever two teams are still standing when its over will be battle tested and ready to make a final push toward the 'boro. So let's hear it, who wins, who goes home? GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. Congrats to Obion Co on a big win last night over Milan. A solid game by the Lady Rebs, as they took control and never let up. This may have been the best effort by OC in a month or so. Last night they played their game, mostly at their tempo, and get the win. Also a big Congrats to Dyersburg, as the Lady Trojans likely played their best basketball of the year in the three games in the tournament to take the title. Now if you look at the Regional brackets, on one side to the bracket are D'burg, OC from 13AA, while Westview, Milan, and most likely Jax NSide will be in the other half of the bracket. It's win or go home for the next two games for all teams. So it's time to crank it up. GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. While I agree that the ref in question is one of the better ones in the area, IF Coach Suitor deserved a T, you would think it would have come from one of the refs he was talking to, not the one on the other end of the floor. And why any coach would WANT a T down 9, and making a run is beyond me. But again I will say the officials/calls did not cost OC the game, the first quarter did. GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. You know even you Ghost would have got the T in that one, it looked predetermined. While a loss tonight would not be good, it would NOT be the end of the world. And as for picking up a gold ball, well they are still playing, and that means they still have a shot at it. Maybe we will see you at the game, we'll look UP for you. GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  25. First off, the refs DID not cost OC this game, a POOR shooting first quarter did. There were some VERY questionable calls in the game, and the technical on Coach Suitor did seem to be a big question. OC won quarters 2-4 by a score of I think 61-47, but that first quarter was too much to dig out of. As for the question of why OC did not change what they were doing early, ther was no need to. OC was getting good shots, 10 feet and in, they just rolled off. It was not anything in particular the Westview was doing, just the shots would not fall. OC had a chance, but Westview, like any good team will do, hit free throws down the stretch to seal it. So now, OC will take on Milan, tonight for 3rd in the district. The big thing about this game is to stay away from Jax NSIDE in the first round of the Regional. While either of these two I think can play with Northside, why not stay away from them if you can, as they are clearly the Best of that district. Catch the game tonight on 104.9 KYTN GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
