  1. Well, if OC could have thrown one in the ocean in the first quarter, this one would could have very well had a different outcome. For some reason we have just not shot well at the 'view. OC won three of four quarters, but that 20-2 first quarter was a killer. But the Lady Rebs still move on, and play Milan Saturday night, and then move on to the Regionals. Need to win the game Saturday night, as the loser will likely head to Jax NSide, not that they are unbeatable, but they are CLEARLY the best in that district. So now lets see where it goes from here. GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. As I said at the start of the season, it will take time, and as this season drew to a close, the Rebs did improve. Only one senior on this club, and a summer to work, this bunch will hit the ground running next season. Good job guys, and Coach Kail. We are all proud of your efforts and looking forward to next season. GO REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. And then there four......and funny thing is it is the four that most everyone expected. In tonight's opener Milan and Dyersburg, this should be a real battle. D'burg could very well pull what some would call an upset, as they seem to be playing well at the right time. Should be a good one. And then the nightcap, OC will try to get some payback for two of their regular season losses when they square off with Westview. The injury to Thomas for the 'view is something to watch, as well as the injury to Ashley Baldwin for OC, and the still recovering Jana Roney for OC. Defensive pressure will go along way in getting a win in this one. Both teams have good shooters, and someone better get a hand in their face. Three top ten teams in the state on the floor tonight in the 13AA tournament, Here's lookng for a BIG crowd, and two GOOD games to see who makes the finals. GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. This is actually the 4th meeting between these two, and while DC is playing well, I think OC kicks into gear and gets the win and a Regional birth. GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Two good games tip off the District tournament, as Westview takes on Crockett Co at 6:30, and then OC and Dyer Co go at 8:00. The start of what should be a very good week of basketball, get there early, I say it will be packed GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Congrats to Cali, a VERY solid player, good shooter, and a leader on the floor as a junior for DC.
  7. About two days till it's "SHOWTIME". Hey tree....What time is the "train" pulling into Martin Monday??? GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. sls...that is so true, the only thing we know for sure is ANYTHING can happen next week. Crockett played well against us at their place last week, and if C Thomas can't go that does change things for the 'view, it could be very close. D'burg/GC, agreed, a close one. I think OC will get Dyer Co, but this too could be closer than alot of people think. Milan is sitting pretty right now, but will have to play well in the semis, whichever team they face. And yes you want to stay opposite Jax NS in the region if you can, because they are MUCH better than the other three in that district. It will be INTERESTING. And as for District 13AA, before the tournament starts, I would say to all the teams, THANKS for an exciting season. This is a VERY GOOD group of teams, and we have been fortunate to watch a great season of basketball. Having said that, I still say two from 13AA will likely be in the 'boro, question is "WHICH TWO????????" GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. OC has indeed played better basketball in the past couple of nights, with two good wins. Now it's win or go home, and the Rebs face the TOUGH Cavs of Crockett Co. OC has played Crockett three times this season, and lost all three but were in two of the three. IF OC comes out and plays like they can play, and have played at times this season, this could be a GOOD game. Its time to turn it up guys, and make something happen Wednesday night. As always......... GO REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Last night OC took care of Fulton Co, in their last game prior to next weeks District tournamnet. In that game, Ashley Baldwin, the only senior on the team, who had torn an A. C. L. on Tuesday, DID play. A. B. braced up and did get to play on Sr. night, and left the floor to a standing "O". Ashley is a great young lady, and the fact that she was able to play was great for her and her team. Congrats to A. B. on her career at OC, and it appears she is not done yet. Make your way to Martin Monday night and support the Lady Rebs in their first round game with Dyer Co. Tournament time is here!!!! GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. GH...you are correct, 13AA has to be the TOUGHEST district in the state. Very interesting first round games, Dyersburg/Gibson Co, OC/Dyer Co., Westview/Crockett Co., with Milan waiting on the D'burg/GC winner, and a possible OC/Westview matchup, it will be very entertaining. And I still say that an "upset" in the first round is not out of the question. It all starts Monday at Westview, look for large crowds and great games. GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Look for Westview, OC, and maybe Dyersburg to advance to the semis, but D'burg will have a tough test from GC. If D'burg get GC, they could pull the upset over Milan. I think OC will finally get Westview in the semis, and I still think OC wins the title, but it will not be easy. This is a deep tough district, and at least one "upset" is likely. Be there as District 13AA comes to Martin. GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Nice win last night by OC over Crockett at Alamo. Now the Lady Rebs have a Friday night game with Fulton Co at "Central Station", and then it is on to district tornaments. But still it is one game at a time. Be there Friday night as it is senior night. GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. If we can get back to the matter at hand, OC makes the LONG trip to Crockett Co tonight, to tangle with the always dangerous Lady Cavs. This is a tough gym to play in and Crockett plays well there. Tournaments are about a week away, lets focus on basketball, and see just where the road goes for OC in the next few weeks. GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Nice post, Danny Blackley is indeed a True Fan. I have been covering OC for many years, and he is always there. Danny is indeed the Fan of the year in my book, and would have been for the last several years. There are no conditions to his support of the teams from Obion Co Central, year in and year out he is there "yelling for his Rebs". I have the chance to talk to Danny at most games, as he comes up and always sticks a hand out, and talks of the nights game, which always kinda brightens the day. So if you are at OC, and don't know Danny, you'll see him sitting on the south end of the gym, with his radio headset on, cheering for his teams, as it has been for many years.
  16. Hey GC, I think we checked, Coach Knight is still under contract, so I guess we'll have to wait...
  17. Your right OC is a GOOD team, and could be a great team. As for the "extremely easy schedule", you might want to check that. OC's schedule on the strength rankings was #14, and their strenght-success ranking is #2. As for "just saying we have a pretty good team, we now that, but we want the girls to have as much success as they can get, so the players, coaches, and fans will continue to push in that direction. My opinion, for what it's worth, (which I'm sure is not much), when OC plays their game, they are the best team in 13AA. That is not knocking Westview, Milan, Dyersburg, Gibson Co, Crockett Co, or Dyer Co, for this district is loaded with good teams. That is just an opinion. And as for acting like we are supposed to win a gold ball, is that not what we are all trying to do here??? GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. You are right, Westview is a good team and can and likely will stay close to anyone. As for OC and playing rough vs hard. I watch OC play every night, they are physical, and very aggressive, but they do play HARD. And last but not least, Jax Northside, well everyone seems to be handing them a return trip to the state. I don't know that I can see that. While they are a solid team, led by Delk and Clift, their schedule was not exactly a killer, and if you look at the games with Dyersburg from 13AA, a last second shot won the second game. Not taking anything away from D'burg, but they are going to likely finish 4th in 13AA. Just my opinion.
  19. At this time, OC needs to worry about the next game, which is Dyer Co. As tournament time nears, the team needs to focus on the task at hand. It is time to play well, and get ready for the districts. OC is VERY much a in the mix, and could still have alot of basketball to play. I think this group of girls will rise to the challenge. The answers will come in the next few weeks. GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. 4 teams from the same region can make the state finals. Reg. 7AA will only get two spots, but likely should have three or so. Sad but true. So some good teams will be left in West Tenn. GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. Well this is a hard post for me, as OC had this game against Westview, and just gave it back. OC was up 15 in the 3rd and did not put it away. There is a good chance these two will see each other again in the district tournaments, and OC will have another shot at the 'view. I have to say Westview fought back hard, and got the win. But I must also say that for OC to surrender that lead is a big shock. The Lady Rebs are better than that, and I think we will see that in a couple of weeks. AS ALWAYS...... GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. I have not seen the Ferris kid, but it sounds like she is for real. I have watched Fuzzell, and Reedy play all season at Obion Co. Reedy is already a quality post player, money from 15 ft in, very smart on the floor, able to establish position on anyone we have seen, just solid. Fuzzell seems to have "ice-water" running thru her veins. Fuzzell can and will shoot when needed, certainly is not afraid of taking a big shot, plays smart and makes "hustle" plays everynight. Both play well beyond their years. Both too are great young ladies. GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. While I realize that Jax North Side is a good club, their weaker schedule I think keeps them from being #1. When the Regional tournament gets underway, we'll see what Jax North Side is made of. Not knocking them, we all know they are a great team, but you have to admit the schedule is weak when compared to most. GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I doubt it.
  24. Jana missed I think 2, and hit around 13 or so, another solid night. This IS the toughest AA district in the state, three in the AP top ten, with anothr that could be, solid top to bottom, get ready for tournament time.
