  1. I agree with you both that they are in a district that they can compete, but they have to work at it. If the Seymour kids listen then they'll be competitive. I saw that Seymour hasn't won a district game in two seasons, so they have some work to do. The difference is that UCHS got Coach Jessie when he was less experienced, but he turned the program into a very strong one. Seymour gets him with a great deal of experience & proof that he can turn a program around. We will miss him but wish him the best of luck. Coach Bennett will be another good coach too. Our kids loved them both. Your kids will love their coaching style, & and how they treat everyone. The fans will find it exciting too! Get ready to press, run, & gun Seymour players!
  2. No the coach didn't "run onto the floor in Skylars face", but was WALKING to the locker room while Skylar was walking to the line to shoot. Skylar was actually walking towards him to shoot and the coach walked by him. Not sure what was said but it's nothing like the "rumor" you heard. Good game and Congrats to Grainger.
  3. Didn't Greenback win a state championship in 1987?
  4. They must throw the ball a little more with this QB, but you can bet they still focus on controlling the line of scrimmage, to be as successful as they have been. They've had some good athletes up there. I bet you played against Johnny Parton. He was a beast! They also had some LB's go to Michigan I think.
  5. Alcoa has that effect on everyone, ask CAK.
  6. Not a GP fan. Just saw their QB listed on VolQuest and have read about him. They have traditionally had a strong program. I do know that their main touchdown man, Pittsner?, was only a junior last season. He was the one scoring all of the touchdowns on news highlights.
  7. Good QB coming back, good coaching staff, & always a strong team= success. It will be interesting to see if they get moved back into PF's region for the 2009 season. That would seem to make more sense.
  8. Brittany & Kayce could do great things together on the basketball court too. I hope "Bones" plays basketball too. Best young defensive player I've seen in a while. Long & rangy athlete. Brittany is just a great athlete. Should have a great season and career in both.
  9. Stone Memorial has no true six-footers. I've seen them more then once. They do have several around 5'9"-510". Dishman may be 5'11", but they will press like crazy & push the ball. They like to take the best quick shot they can. They love the three-ball and can make it. They've played a tough schedule, so they'll be ready. Good for Elizabethton to have the home court advantage. This should be a good one!
  10. Soldiers Memorial has been an East Tennessee powerhouse for girl's middle school basketball for over 30 years, and they feed Claiborne High School (along with Midway 8th graders). TMSSAA holds a District, Regional, & State tournament for the middle schools that are members, and SMMS won it on the girls side last year.
  11. I agree. Claiborne girls added at least 5 freshman off their middle school state championship to an already talented varsity group. They'll be deep & big. Watch out for that really special freshman they've got.
  12. Amen. I wish they would never allow people to bash other people on any site. "If you do not anything good to say, then don't say anything at all" is what I was taught. Some of you should try that. I promise you'll feel better about yourself.
  13. Andy Rines would know. He can be located at Heritage High School. He ran the eastern Sub-State at Maryville last weekend. I went to Friday nights games and watched the Warriors vs. Union County. It was a good game. The Warriors won by one point. They were very athletic. Didn't get to see them on Saturday.
