Two plays turned this game around. Unaka was leading 8-6 and appeared to block a punt that goes for a net 10 yards. Hampton doesn't down it and the Unaka player picks it up and runs for a touchdown. The throw a flag late, late, late only after they see the Unaka player is going to score for roughing the kicker. I looked like Unaka got a hand on the kick but everything was so muddy its hard to tell. Then after Hampton goes up 14-8 they kick off and Unaka fails to fall on the kick. That was the backbreaker. PUJO and his army will lead you to believe that Unaka was never in the game but the unbiased Bulldog faithful know better. They need to give Unaka's quarterback and offensive line credit where credit is due. Considering how many times that tried to throw with field conditions like they were, Hampton only got to him a few times early in the second half. That was corrected after the first drive. Peterson did not take a sack at anytime rolling to his left and one of three sacks was a coverage sack. Unaka dropped five passes that hurt their chances but the difference in the game was Hampton's offensive line versus Unaka's defensive line. I never could understand with Hampton's size why Unaka didn't counter with their bigger defensive front instead of wating until the ball was inside the 10 to do so. The change helped you win against Cloudland. Why not try it some this week against Unicoi and see if it works? It sure can’t hurt.

Unaka made the necessary adjustments in the second half and Cloudland didn't. Give McKinney and his staff credit. When they went to the big front in the second half it shut down Cloudland's middle ground game. It created matchup problems trying to block 75 and 55 due to lack of size. Corners did a great job of not letting anyone get outside and the backers tackled well. Peterson threw the ball with accuracy and the receivers caught some clutch passes. CC was right in his post that the kids appear to love this staff and playing on this team. I don't believe they're quiet ready to challenge Hampton but this won't be their last win either.

the same one that entered the post should you or should you not transfer to elizabethton? my advice for hampton is to hire len dugger or ned smith but this won't happen until changes are made on that school board. and they will be changes made on the school board including the hampton district and the city district. i know who is going to run in the city and they will win and ive heard a couple who will be running in the hampton district. and unaka will have a new one too

PT12 if you're a betting man, i wll take unaka and the 19 points. knowing the way they play defense, i can see this game being in the high 20's or low 30's.

i don't know the boy's name from cloudland but if he were in your alliance, starman carried him outside like a rag doll last night after he was ejected from the gym. that was the most impressive thing i saw about that game.

are you fictional? i used to think it was just an act but you got to be insane. i have spoken to many roan mountain folk and they would have a parade if you were to leave town for good. just to let you know, the championship does not belong to the alliance, it belongs to those kids, coach smith and carpenter and all the true loyal highlander sports fans. as for you, get a life, grow up and quit acting like a 10 year old child. your community deserves better than that.

dugger was a great player and so was seal but my favorite player was rusty chambers of unaka. i believe that kids got more out of his athletic ability than anyone. he was a good scorer, great passer and free throw shooter and they won a state championship. chambers got the other players involved which is the sign of a good ball player. donald ensor built that team around him. not a big time college player just a excellent high school player. as for coach seal he was never the sheriff but he keeps law and order on the basketball team.

i wouldn't get too fired up about wearing one. they'll be less than half price after this season little johnny!

maybe not last night. that is a bad example to sit for everyone that still supports the team and players. unaka has only 2 seniors. how many freshman and sophomores are sitting on the bench. if you're trying to build a progam it had better start with developing younger players and fast. we need post players. do we have anyone who can score inside or has the potential to. some of those boys dont ever play and probably wont come back after this year. its the same old thing every game. i dont fault the coaches effort during the season but i did last night. i fault their decision making and the way certain situations were handeled. grindstaff should still be on the team after what ive seen on the floor. i have not got to be at all the game but i did see over half of them. he and lewis made the team play harder. i would rather watch the effort that was out on the floor at the first of the year than what i seen now. that old its my way or no way will soon be out the door.

this basketball season has been a nightmare from the players on down to th e coaches. i had to go outside last night after the first quarter and when i got back in at halftime it wasn't any better. i don't blame it all on the players. the coaches quit last night and is showed. how can you expect a kid to go out and give its all when your leaders decide to lay down on the job because things are not going well. what really looked back was late in the game when hampton had played everybody by the waterboy we still had our starters in the game. we had kids who never got on the floor and god knows we were behind by 30 some. that really makes it look bad racking up points on hampton's jv. your program is down and you get a chance to get some expericnce for some of the younger players but pass on the opportunity. this is just one of the reason this program is all screwed up. as a former player i can honestly say this is hard to watch. it can be fixed but probably won't be. you have kids wanting to be out on the baseball field and others just wanting it ove r with. i dont think many will be back in changes are not made. saturday is the last game so why not go get grindstaff and let him play it would be only fitting. i promise you he'll give 100 % and that is something lacking from all parties involved

the one name that has been brought up in every conversation is tony gordon of uh. and at one of their most recent games, why would some so-calls from elizabethton be in attendance for a jr. buc basketball game. you guys make this thing with len dugger sound like a done deal but unless something new has happened in the past few days, gordon will be considered should the job become available.
