1. Congrats Lady Tigers. Only problem is who else can you beat outside your weak district. Is there anyone else that can stop them before they get to state. In the past PF has stumbled in the past. If they don't win it all this year with all that talent then it will never happen for them (sorry the truth hurts). Good luck on your quest for the GOLD BALL!!!
2. There has already been a shake up of sorts!!! South-Doyle and Sevier Co. looked better than they have all year. Cait hurt for #1 Heritage. Will there be more upsets tonight.
3. Can anyone stop Heritage in the district this year? They and everyone else have dethroned Sevier Co. There is a large group in the middle of the pack that have been close. Maryville, William Blount, Farragut, Bearden which one can get to the title game? Knox West, Sevier Co., South-Doyle could there be any Cinderella stories with any of these teams? Now that the season is done can any of these teams survive district, regions, sub-state oor possilbly STATE?
4. It looks like that Sevier Co is off to a rough start this year. They have only one senior this year I thought that had a another senior guard. Is she hurt, quit , or transfer? There are only two juniors. Jacquelyn Kremer seems to the lone returning person from last years squad. The rest are three soph and three frosh I believe. Can Sevier Co get over being so young on the court. Does tradition of winning give them a chance of repeatthis year in a district as tough as theirs: Heritage, Farragut, Maryville, William Bount, Bearden, South Doyle, Knox West and Sevier Co. Is this how this district will finish this year. Can the coach at Sevier Co pull out some old tricks from years past .
5. It's tournament time and some teams are already looking forward to next year. Just heard about some jobs coming open. Who is looking for a head job else where and wondering what coaches are leaving. Any big names involved? Any class any where across the state?
6. YES, YES,YES!!! If I could recruit 1 player to change, start or improve a program in college this is the best pick. Got to have a true point guard to run the show. Got to have someone to come ready to work and play every day. I hope she graduates early, and I mean that as a compliment to her. Good luck and enjoy the game.
7. These are 2 great teams. Both have more than 1 player. Both are well coached. Both have tradition. Both are going to play to win. This is what makes high school ball fun to watch. This will be one of the best Championship games to see any where in the state. I'll be there how 'bout you. Bset of luck to bothas they head for the GOLD BALL. Think about it: Powell - Oak Ridge - Sevier Co. - Heritage. Four of the best in state and in the same region. Shame only 2 will go on to Substate.
8. Since some of you have never played ball in the post with consistant douvle teams and getting the rough play and still being able to score then you may not want to stay in this post. Why do you want to bash someone for making an arguement for who they think is the best and then talk trash if their thought does not go along with yours. I congratulated all these girls but you will find Brooke will be the one to stop if your team plays hers. The best player makes her team better and she is very deserving of Ms. AA. DON'T HATE, SHOW LOVE!
9. Brooke Johnson, enough said! When a player makes a team have to find a way to stop her (no one has yet) then they must be a dominant player. Yes all the girls listed are great players. They all have had great careers. They all will be playing in college. But, when you want the best player for this year alone then it has to be Brooke Johnson. I have yet to see any one slow her down and in big games she is the deciding factor on the floor. The other girls are great but but have had off nights. Good luck to all these girls and many others that are worthy of this recognition.
10. A Snow- ? AA Johnson-Seymour AAA Uner_Sevier Co. Snow the best in A. Johnson the best player in the state in any class. Uner has led her team to to 89wins vs 11loses, just a complete player.
11. Is there any doubt that Seymour is the best in AA. No team in AA can hang with them. If they were in AAA, they would be heading to the 'boro. They have beaten Heritage and will sweep Sevier Co. ( two of the top 10 in AAA ???). The Lady Eagles have it all and are the best TEAM in the state in any class. They have a very talented line-up, great coaches, and the loudest fans. No one in East TN will stop them. Make room in the trophy case for a shiny GOLD BALL. See ya' in the 'boro!!!
12. Has there ever been any schools with just a few wins that got hot at the end of the season and won STATE in any class? Looking for any Cinderella stories this year, who to watch out for at tourny time
13. I agree. High school sports are filled with emotions. But, it is the responsibility of the coach to teach the players how to win and lose with dignity and respect. If you don't teach the players to show respect for other teams, how do you espect them to learn to respect themselves? Sportsmanship begins with respect. That begins with the coach. Heritage is an excellent team, no doubt about it. All I'm saying is that they need to learn to have respect. They supposedly told the Sevier County team that they looked up to them. That is not what they showed after the game. Learn to win and lose with respect!
14. bball35... Obviously you don't know a great deal about Sevier County! They did win districts, regionals and STATE!! After each win, they DID shake hands before they celebrated!! They have been taught to win and lose with class and dignity. The ultimate goal of a sport is to promote competition in an uplifting way. Heritage has not been taught this! Heritage's last coach, Yogi, would have never allowed this type of thing to happen. This has only been a problem since Coach Howard took over.
15. Word has it that Cait's attitude comes from a former player, Andrea Plemmons. Apparently, Plemmons has been helping coach Cait. If you will recall, a few years ago, Plemmons almost single handedly cost Heritage a trip to the State finals. Cait and Heritage need to be careful! She could do the same to this team! Cait is a better player than what she is showing emotionally. She needs to keep her emotions in control!!
