  1. You are right: "Things may change"!!! The last time these two teams played it was a close game until after HalfTime. The "Lady Rams" will be ready!!! We had a surprise for the Lady Warriors at Tyner. Our Sophomore Small Forward(who actually was subbing for our Senior who is now "healed") had a breakout game and scored a career best 19 points. Our point guard who averages 11 points a games and 6 assists had an off night. We are now fully "loaded" and ready for the challenge. By the way the "Lady Ram" DEFENSE held your top scorer(C. Smith, avg. 18.ppg) to three(3) points that night. You are right" Things may change"!!! But remember: The more things change the more they stay the same :justwrestle: >>>>>>GO LADY RAMS>>>>> 21-1 (11-0, Dist. 6AA) P.S. This game will determine which team has the inside track!!! The "Lady Rams" will arrive tomorrow night in Pikeville riding an eleven (11) game winning streak. Make-up game tonight against Central(Chattanooga) was no-contest as the substitutes played the entire 4th quarter, out scoring Central 17-11. Final Score: 77-37>>>>>Overall Record now stands at: 22-1 I noticed that one poster has predicted a score. I normally don't do scores and I won't try to in this game. Too many intangibles(home court advantage being the biggest intangible followed closely by "heart" and desire). I will say this it should be a good game and I know Bledsoe will be "pumped" for this one!!! The crowd should be a good one: The "Ram-Train" will have a Car-a-Van of fans for this one.

  3. The teams in Region 3-A may not be as tough as some other Regions, however, Chattanooga Christian has played some tough teams from North Georgia(i.e. Dalton, Murray Co.). Never judge a book by its cover(Translation: Never judge a team by its schedule). They lost one(1) senior starter last year and return one of the best bench players in Chattanooga(in my humble opinion). In 2003 they lost in the Sectional(on the road) to Westmoreland 46-43. If they are fortunate to host a Sectional this year, it is very likely that you will see these young ladies in Murfreesboro!
  4. Rivalry games are always hard to predict. I just wish we could have had both teams on our schedule this year so I could make an objective decision. If I were a betting person, I would pick Baylor, but since I am not, I will still pick Baylor
  5. Ditto and much success to you in the future
  6. The Refs' usually become an excuse, however, when you lace-them-up before each and every game you never really know how the game will be called. It is magnified(even more) the deeper you get into the season. You teach your team to focus on playing and not how the refs' are calling the game. No matter how much you protest usually it won't change a decision. If you play hard enough(with discipline) you can usually win even if it is by a small margin. You teach your team to prepare for adverse situations!!!!
  7. Congrats on being the Regular Season Champs!!! Best of Luck to you in the Tournaments!!!
  8. I agree, Chattanooga Christian does have an excellent team. The Lady Chargers should not have a problem hosting the Sectional. The only team(in my opinion) that could give them a problem this year is Copper Basin. They will be in really good shape next year with Juniors and Seniors in the starting line-up!!!
  9. Congratulations Clay County!!!! Haven't seen you play but from the summary looks like it was an excellent game for you. Your team seems to be "Tournament Ready". I hope February and March will be just as successful!!!!
  10. DevilFan, First of all, I don't know who JacksonCoFan is(and could care less). When I came on this Message Forum, all of my comments were in response to your attacks on my Team(which you haven't even seen.) When I started a Thread about 20-plus game winners, you injected negative comments about the strength-of-schedule of the "Lady Rams". I have noticed that a couple of other JC fans have mentioned the same things. I try to stay positive with my comments, however, if the situation calls for a clarification(opinion) I will certainly give mine. And here are a couple: 1. Say all you want about our Strength-of-Schedule, it will have nothing to do with who we play(or how we play) against the remainder of the season or in the tournaments. 2. "Paper Computations" are just that. No outcome will be decided by it!!!! 3. Yes, we did lose to McMinn twice last season, however, we haven't loss a District game since 2001.( And we have moved up to AA this year). 4. None of what happened in my #3 will have anything to do with 2004(and that includes the possibility of losing a District game). I have stated before, and I'll say it again: I am just as passionate about my team as the other posters are on this board. Futhermore, I will not try to minimize the accomplishments of other teams!!!!! GO "LADY RAMS">>>> 20-1 (11-0, 6AA)
  11. JacksonCoFan, I can respect you for telling the truth. You truly give "new" meaning to the phrase: "Tell the truth and shame the Devil" :justwrestle:
  12. Hey devilfan, You don't need to "cut me any slack", I can hold my own with anybody...just like my "Lady Rams". Last time I checked(A, AA or AAA) it was still 5 on 5 and the age group was still 16, 17 and 18 year-olds. So until they toss it up at center court whether it's 7AA, 5AA, or whatever, you still got to bring your "A"-game with you each and every night. I keep repeating That's Why They Play the Game!!!!!
  13. I am really happy to see that we have a person in this Forum that types everything "grammatically" correct BTW, don't worry about us getting out of the Region, just "focus" on your own team and the rest will take care of itself
  14. MtJBears, I think devilfan is just a little nervous(even though he shouldn't be; it's way too early to be sweating about making it to the 'boro)
  15. No need to start "hyper-ventalating" my friend; We have a whole month before we let our blood pressure kick in. I understand the what Middle and West Tennessee has in terms of teams(both girls and boys). Although I am new to this Forum I am very much in the know about all of the classes(A, AA, AAA). I have been a supporter of Tyner sports for a very long time and we(Rams) have been a member of all three(3) classifications at one time or another. I don't like to make excuses, however, the loss to Kirby was due to three(3) ill starters and after three games in three days we had no legs and no bench. But all of that is water under the bridge and I believe we are a better team because of it!! We really have a good month to anticipate and talk about the second season but first things first: February is no time to be looking at March(and I know you will agree with that!!!)
  16. Your list looks good to me!!! It's soooo good to have some new blood circulating all the way to Murfreesboro
  17. You can really tell when a person starts worrying about the competition!!! All good things must come to an end sooner or later. This year is 2004. And although Rome wasn't built in a year, the Great Roman Empire did "fall"( I know it's hard for you devilfantic but do you see where I'm going with this??) Let me put it to you in Layman's terms: You remember the great Women Teams in the NCAA in the 70's (Immaculatta, Old Dominion, etc) The even greater teams of the 80's (Southern Cal, LA Tech). Well just take it down a notch to the High School level and even "you" will be able to understand. Contrary to popular belief, the World doesn't revolve around 7AA. Sooner or later(and it may be sooner than you think) you will understand
  18. bbcoach17, Appreciate the "positive" comments and although I am new to this message board I am a seasoned veteran when it comes to responding to adverse and senseless comments. We all know who has won State Championships in the past and I congratulate the winners, however, other teams who compete for these also have successful seasons which most times are not defined by lifting the Gold Ball in Murfreesboro. By the same token if you are a "true" basketball fan(which most of us are because we take the time to post these threads) you will support your team and keep all the negative stuff to a minimum. And the comments about "Strength-Of-Schedule" is no more than entertainment for fans(as one other poster put it). It's much like the Associated Press Polls. It's good to be ranked but it's meaningless until you toss it up at center court. If that was the case and we actually used these "paper computations" it would make all the jobs for the folks in the TSSAA's office a lot easier. Oh, one more thing...I am as passionate about the "Lady Rams" as any other poster is about his or her team, so I won't be going anywhere.
  19. I'll have to Co-Sign your response McNBobcat, and I couldn't have said it any better!!!!
  20. Well Congratulations!!!!!!!! You mentioned McMinn Central as if you were a fan of theirs. Oh, and one more thing: This is supposed to be a positive "thread" about 20+ wins not about schedule strength, opinions, and the like. Let's keep to the TOPIC
  21. Just as I suspected....no appropriate comeback(reply) for the results of last years' season ending loss
  22. And you can "never" judge a team by it's competiton(That's why they play the game). Have you seen the teams play each other this year>>>>NO!!!! You have your "opinion" and so do I. By the way anytime you beat an opponent on it's "HOME" floor it is an accomplishment so don't even try to rain on this "Lady Ram" Train's Parade. By the way that one loss was to AAA Kirby and we beat Bartlett and Cordova to get the opportunity to play them!!! And since you are "tooting" McMinn Central's horn they did no better than the Lady Rams did last year: they lost at home in the Sectional.
  23. The "Lady Rams" of Tyner Academy left Dunlap, TN. tonight with a District Record of 11-0 and overall Record of 20-1. The Lady Indians of Sequatchie County tried to use a "slowdown" strategy which was hatched by the Coach. Although the first quarter score was only 11 to 1 it grew to 25 to 11 at the half. Sequatchie's leading scorer( averaging 17 points a game) Sara Kell was held to a total of six(6) points. The final score was 54-19. We still have a couple of bumps in the road before Tournament play beginning this Friday with crosstown rival Brainerd(District 6AAA). We are scheduled to play Defending Champion(6AA) Bledsoe Co. in Pikeville on Feb.6th. Congrats to the "Lady Rams" with pressure Defense and Bench strength which is improving each and every game!!!
  24. Make that 10-0 after tonight(Monday) defeating C.S.A.S. Going into Dunlap tomorrow to take on the Lady Indians of Sequatchie Co. Go "LADY RAMS" and Congrats on your #9 Associated Press Ranking!!!!
  25. I haven't seen either team play yet, however, it seems as though not much separates the two. On the high school level, in my opinion, your intangibles(bench strength, "heart", coaching, etc.) play a big part in "big" games. Both teams seem to be playing at tournament "level" even though it is just the end of January. Because the game is being played at Central, I would have to say Central is the favorite but stranger things have happened when this scenario happens. If Walker Valley was to win on Friday night, I think in order to take 1st place in District 5AA they would have to win by ten(10) points or better. The first game was won by Central 71-62. Either team will be a very tough 1st or 2nd place team to face in Region 3-AA. Whoever attends this game please post the score ASAP. I have more than a passing interest in who wins or who loses
