  1. Either we really like to talk about ourselves amongst ourselves, or no one can figure out how to start a new thread.....
  2. King College in Bristol (NAIA) will have a new program next season. They just announced the hiring of Doug Reese as new head coach. http://www.king.edu/PublicRelations/102804.htm
  3. I love it when people actually post something when they start a thread like this! You may be going out on a limb esp. since I don't think any of these guys have certified yet, but I do agree that 140 will be stacked.
  4. OMG JIM --- We were writing almost exactly the same thing at the exact same time. I'm spooked.
  5. Click the img button when you post - put in a link to the image - it has to be uploaded already somewhere or add it to your signature the same way.
  6. Most teams will certify at the mass testing site at Houston this Saturday. I'm sure this board will be buzzing after that.
  7. Surely ijtx's talking about head coach Jarad Swint. He's got a very impressive recruit class this year IMHO.
  8. Wrestling101 will be glad to see that you are acknowledging the "other" son. Go DEVILS!
  9. Googled his name out of curiosity, & there's a Nick Brugal HWT at William Penn, at least last season, according these results: http://www.siue.edu/ATHLETIC/WREST/20032004/wpillmck.html Wasn't on the roster at their website now though. Could it be the same?
  10. Germantown Wrestling Booster Club website: www.gtownwrestling.com It will be updated with schedules before Thursday this week.
  11. Go here to find your school: http://www.tssaa.org/Classifications/GenClass.cfm Maryville is region 2, district 4
  12. Thanks, Garrett. I'll look there.
  13. How new? He's not in our contact information database yet. In addition to being a Red Devil fan, I'm the "Technology Director" & in charge of information for Midsouth Wrestling Club, and we've been compiling contact information for all area middle school - high school and freestyle coaches & assistants. Rusty, if you're out there, please visit our website: www.midsouthwrestling.org and email me your contact info. I'm also still looking for Brighton, Collierville Middle School coaches, Memphis Catholic (program this year?), if you'd like to be on our list. E. Barnett
  14. Aww. I'm disillusioned. I liked stovepipe's version much better. "Just 'cause it's a tall tale don't mean it ain't true."
  15. Was Markese really that scary? Perhaps all the stories I've heard are true.... I'll have to find that Red Devil wrestler for you.
  16. Ha, jim! You may not be the athlete you once were, but you still look pretty good. But, that said, I do resent your previous comment about my boys. Those are some fine looking young gentlemen. Re: Collierville's new singlets, I was looking around for those Helias singlets. I found the school's website, but alas, no pictures. I'd like to get a preview of what they might look like. And Garrett, LOL on the zebra analogy! E.B.
  17. Kenny's wearing one, just a different style: red with a cursive "G" on the front. Either there weren't enough of the same style in good enough shape to go around, or he liked the red one better. I'm looking forward to watching Kenny this year as well. He's got a lot of spirit and potential. He'll wrestle with confidence this year as a senior and team leader.
  18. Shameless plug, but did any of you catch our guys in retro last season? They were on display at our home meet vs SBA & during the Region 8 finals. I seriously doubt the coaches will let them come out this way again! http://www.gtownwrestling.com/Team_retro.jpg
  19. Yes, and I should have elaborated. I guess I didn't catch the intent of the original post. I meant that Germantown has been in a rebuilding mode for a few years now. I have confidence that this team will soon be the powerhouse it once was. Success breeds success, and I think this year's performance will be something the team can build on.
  20. There have been a lot of wrestlers who "came very close" to beating Borneman. When judging him as a wrestler, you can't look at the scores, or how long Borneman was "on his back." He just wins. I respect him for being a wrestler that is so hard to beat, no matter how good you look against him.
  21. voleagle - there is honor and value in WRESTLING whether you win or loose, as an individual or as a team. You may not have meant what you posted to come sounding like you're devaluing wrestling as a team sport, but that's the way it sounds.
  22. For those of you on the west side, The time has come to begin thinking about getting involved in the MSWC for the off-season. The Midsouth Wrestling Club website has been updated to include practice sites and times, bulletins, and tournament schedule. www.midsouthwrestling.org
