It's a good thing Gibbs doesn't go up in classification b/c they would probably be in 3-AAA. This would be bad for Central, Powell, Karns and all the other teams. Everyone thinks that Gibbs wins b/c they are 2-AA, but we can compete at any level.

I didn't say they were bad I'm just saying we really don't know how good they are because of their schedule. 5-5 in weak district that's all I'm saying. Decker is a great coach don't get me wrong but they need to play some quality teams because the schedule they play doesn't get them ready for the tournament.

I guess East didn't knock out Jeff County early, eh? Even though the Patriots are down this year, the level of competition these schools play during the season is night and day. Morristown East plays a very soft nonconference schedule and Jefferson County plays the best teams in East TN year in and year out (Science Hill, D-B, Clinton, Fulton, Bearden, Austin-East, Oak Ridge, and Maryville a little tougher than Hancock Co., Cosby, Rutledge and last but not least mighty West Greene.

Morristown East vs Cosby a classic. Hummmm, Maybe Morristown would be better suited for a classic with Science Hill, D-B, TN High or even just another AAA team. I guess not, they have classics with Cosby, West Greene, Hancock Co. and Rutledge. thumb

Belcher and Price both made the team and Oglesby has moved, other than Husky who are all these stud players that you keep talking about that are so talented? I personally want to go see them play in the DBA or whatever league they are in.

Eagle EyeJefferson Co. Middle school talent Sucked last year. Two of our middle schools play teams that feed into AA high schools, Jefferson Middle went 0-18 or something I know they did not win a game, and the best from Maury Long decided to focus on baseball. So the talent is definatly not in this years freshman class. It would be nice to have winning programs with BBall at JCHS. We have seen many coaches over the years with little or no success. I do not feel that Sinard is the problem but it is the lack of talent. I sure do not see any basketball studs on the concrete courts around the county or in the rec center,or rec leagues..

All three points are well stated and true. Seconded guessing is second nature. It is easy for us to be a bleacher coach. I did see in the Tribune where Sinard has a good sophmore class out. I believe the number of sophmores are 11. Looks as though he is tring to produce some young talent. 1100 Males at JCHS and only 10 Varsity spots?

It is a shame that JCHS has no division 1 BBall talent but the truth is that there is no division 1 caliber players at the HS and it has been sometime since there has been one. If you want to play division 1 BBall you better practice everyday and not wait for a school program to produce you because it will never happen for you. Last years team had three players that could have played college basketball somewhere but Jennings chose Vandy, Brown chose CNC both playing football, and Clement chose to become a doctor. Many fine young men have came through the boys BBall program that have went on to be successful in life and isn't that what it is important.

who are the div. 1 prospects that got cut? I would like to know names.

Who are the good players that didn't try out and also who are the good players that got cut?

The first time Central played Oak Ridge they lost 10-0 and today they beat Oak Ridge. Great job. Go Bobcats!

ComeUpper, I don't know you and I don't care. I know Coach Cox and I am behind him 100% in his decision. What you and your buddies have done can't be taken lightly. However, What you have done the most is embarrass your school, your friends, your parents but most of all yourselves. By the way the 5 of you must not be all that great because the team had won just 5 games with you. PS Central won on Monday

The talent level at JCHS will always be above average, however the question lies within the coaching staff. How is the pitching looking this year? What position do you play?

Over 5 Techs in one game, players fighting "each other". I'm not sure but this could be a lack of discipline.
