  1. Science Hill won in there last at bat 6-5. Was a very good game with the lead changing several times.
  2. Hey Jack. Since you are so into all the predictions and stuff interested to see what you would project all the starters from both squads East and Greeneville that is points they will have tonight. See how accurate you are.
  3. I dont believe that it is so much an easy nonconference schedule that has hurt east i believe that there starting 5 is just physically and mentally tired because of the lack of bench. The starters rarely get long enough breaks before they need them back in there. I am not saying that the team is not conditioned cause i know they are i just really believe that they are drained from all the minutes that they have had to play this year. That is just my opinion and dont take it as the truth just my view as an observer. That is not taking anything away from the teams that have beaten East cause they have played and executed well. Now for those of you whom think that East is not a good team that is just down right not correct. Two tough one point losses this week where either game could have gone either way dont necessarily make a team bad.
  4. Greenville finishes 1st Cherokee finishes 2nd with the tiebreaker East beats West out for 3rd cause east beat greenville once. West finishes 4th Jefferson finishes 5th Cocke county finishes 6th. Bracket will be Greenville and Cherokee get 1st rd bye 3rd (east) vs 6th(cocke county) 4th (West) vs 5th (Jefferson) winner of 3 vs 6 plays Cherokee??? winner of 4 and 5 plays Greenville??? those may be vice versa but first round is officially correct
  5. Hey Imac, I think you just contradicted yourself there. You said that you dont think it will happen cause greenville will roll over cherokee if what you say will happen than how could it not matter. I think you are correct on the West winning tonight but you better be careful as it is a hard place to pull out a win at Cocke County no matter how good you are. Wish you guys luck though. I dont think that East is overconfident or think that they are better than anyone else. I believe that they respect any team that they play and take no one granted at any point this season. They are taking this game very seriously as any team can be beaten on any given night. On paper i think that East is a better team than Jefferson but anything can happen.
  6. There are two big games tonight that will determin the higher seatings for the boys district tournaments. Just wondering what people think about tonights games outcomes will be. First you have the Cherokee vs Greenville game. Will Greenville be able to stop Wydner without Shumate??? Greenville has the advantage of playing at home. I am torn with my prediction for this game i think it will be a really close game but i will predict Greenville by 4. Second game Morristown East vs Jefferson County. The game is at East. The patriots having been playing really good ball after a sluggish start. I believe playing at East doesnt really have a home court advantage as the arena is so big and the stands are a good distance from the floor. I have heard from many opposing players that play at East that they love to play there cause it is a nice gym and you dont have the fans like right there on the court for example Morristown West. I think that East's athleticims will help them prevail in this game but i do believe it will be a closer game than last time. East by 8. Heres what has to happen for the second seed in the IMAC IF Cherokee wins they automatically finish 2nd. IF East wins and Cherokee loses East finishes 2nd. IF they both lose than Cherokee gets 2nd cause of tie breaker i believe? Should be a good night of basketball good luck to all and anxious to hear from you all on your predictions
  7. Here is what i think 1.Greenville(With Shumate)-I think with Shumate playing with Greenville they are the most balanced team in the IMAC. There startign 5 size doesnt match up to any of the other teams in the league. They are a great defensive team when all are healthy and moore champion shumate and murner are all scoring options. Shumate can rebound and play defense well Champion is mainly a rebounder and put back offense guy Murner is defense and offense balanced and moore is a good outside shooter when he is not rushing his shot. 2. Morristown East- Morristown East like height on the team. I believe they are one 6-4 or bigger guy short of being really good. The Canes make up for there lack of size with team speed and run and gun game. They are a really hard team to press as they know there spots to be at to usually get a good chance at a layup. Chase goins at the point for East is doing a better job as he is shaking off the year of not playing. His lack of size hurts him but he is fast and when he is not rushing to the lane is pretty consistent but does turn it over getting a lil fancy too much. Daniel Diedrick is a good ball handler and great defensive man with a good shot. Cory Shaw is fast and has a good outside shot needs to be more confident in his shot. Kent Basile is a banger on the boards even though he is not a big guy best offensive player for East gets alot of rebounds and putbacks. Dustin Farthing is a good big man when he has the ball in his hands needs to lessen his travels but hard big body to defend cause of his weight. 3. Morristown West- West is the most improved team in the IMAC. With Jeremy Smith and Dustin Guthrie and Darius Ewing and Phillip Breeding and Brent Osgood as there starting 5. Jeremy Smith is a banger and big body which is hard to defend has good outside shot needs to use it more. Guthrie is a good pure shooter and penetrator makes players open for easy shots as teams are tryign to keep up with Dustin. Darius Ewing is a good down low man not very tall but can handle the post position cause of his muscles good put back man as well and rebounder as he can block out well. Phillip Breeding is a good shooter and pretty good defender. Osgood is a better defense player than offensive but has decent shot. Definitely a team to look out for and could make some noise in the district tournament.
  8. I agree with the buckner but i said from the teams that i thought would make it to the region from the Imac i dont think they will have a chance to make it that far. I dont think that you would have to do that i think science hill is defeatable. Jefferson County went into double overtime with them and also greenville played them pretty tight this year. I dont know any projections on the region matchups but i think that out of the top 4 imac teams 2 of them will win there first games in the region not say which ones but it will be better than no wins in first round of region from last year.
  9. I dont know much about the other conference but i think that here is the top 10 players from the IMAC this year not in any particular order of teams that could make the region. Andrew Shumate-If healthy prob in top 2 players in conference good size very good definsively struggled some offensivley this year maybe bc of injury. Tracy Champion-Big Man good size good rebounder not much offensively but helps with 8 pts game average. Jonathan Murner-Probably Greenville's most consistent player this year offensively and defensively for Greenville. Anthony Widner-Prob the #1 player in the conference this year cause of his size and scoring ability and the leagues problem matching up against his size. Pretty much Cherokees only player not taking anything away from any of there players just doesnt have many role mates that consistanly help him like greenville has. Kent Basile-Best all around player for the canes this year offensively and definsively. Does the little things that helps his team win games. Only a sophmore but plays much more mature than most sophmores. Daniel Dedrick-Prob one the fastest guys in the IMAC this year. Very good defender maybe the best in the conference. Offense game has helped his team too. Cory Shaw-Good 3pt shooter plays with alot of intensity a player that gets overlooked sometimes by defenses and can make them pay when he does. Jeremy Smith-Very good outside shooter although dont think he has taken enought outside shots this year. Plays good defense and creates mismatches. Dustin Guthrie-Solid player offensively and defensively. Can penetrate and score or shoot the rock from the outside. Plays well in big games. Jason Deering-Got off to a slow start due to an early season injury. Played well for them since coming back doesnt have alot of help there this year with a young team at JC. This is just my opinion from what i have seen this year from the Imac teams. Hope didnt offend anyone and anxious to see what other people opinions are.
  10. Morristown East won 80-79 in overtime was very exciting basketball game from start to finish.
  11. I was at the game and saw this classic first hand it was truly one of the most exciting games i have ever seen. Todd Jenkins was on fire in the first half and hit some key late baskets. It was amazing to see East come back from the 17 pt deficit they were faced with. Chase Goins played well as did Cory Shaw Kent Basile and Daniel Dedrick for the Canes. The second half was a scoring fanaza. When the game went into overtime Kent Basile hit many key baskets and free throws that kept East in control of the overtime period which they finally prevailed in. Glad to see Shane Short and Jerry Miller and Jeffrey Rose come of the bench and play well. Good Luck to the Canes against Cherokee on Friday.
