  1. I saw a pair of games this year and the foul total was incredible - 69 fouls in the girls game and 50 in the boys. The games started at 2:00 in the afternoon and ended at 6:35!
  2. To far for Bobby to go according to his probation officer.
  3. The few times I saw Andrew play, he did well. Congratulations on making All-Region. Obviously, you are proud of your cousin Falconette.
  4. Obviously, you're from Bolivar. What UC accomplished this year is great! A school with 391 students winning 31 games against schools 2 and 3 times their size. I know it ended before Tornado fans wanted, but it was still a great season.
  5. White or light colored jersey for home and dark for visitors. If the past, if there is a visiting team whose road uniforms are a similar or like color jersey to the home team, then a deal is worked out before hand so that there isn't a problem at game time. Usually, the coaches or the school administrators work out the details prior to game time. With the new rule going into effect next season or the next as speculated, then this problem will not occur.
  6. I believe, if you check, most posts complimented Ted on a fine job. Also, no one is questioning Ted's loyalty to South Fulton High School, District 15A & Region 8A...he is very dedicated. I've known Ted since 1999 and can vouch for his loyalty. He also emcees all awards banquets for SF. He does give of his time and loves the Red Devils with a passion that is unmatched.
  7. There is a mention of this at this link: Section 10 TSSAA State Tournament Regulations
  8. Peabody - Nicchaeus Doaks, Greg Ramsey & Mario Partee; Lake County - Andrew Wallace & Tony Tyler; Halls - Demarcus Patrick; South Fulton - Jeremy Wilson & Adam Hicks; Greenfield - Jeremy Smith & Brandon Shane; Middle College - Darren Currie; Dresden - Mark Roberson. Obviously, some very talented kids were left off the list...all region coaches voted and could not vote for their players - based on regular season and tournament play. sportsradiotn's honorable mention - Peabody - Dex Fields & Tyreece Brown; Lake County - Brandon Springer and Sep Valentine; Halls - Walter Tates & Robert Richmond; Middle College - Antwoine Todd, Romeo Lucchesi & Walter Kendricks; Greenfield - Brett Reynolds; Dresden - Kyle Odle & Eddie Miller; Bradford - Stewart Russell & Matthew Thetford.
  9. A perfect example is Peter Gammons - he didn't play professional baseball, but he is the foremost respected reporter on the MLB circuit. He knows what he's talking and writing about...he didn't have to hit a ball to do his job.
  10. If Lake County works out their shooting woes, they will be at the Boro!
  11. Del & blacksunshine make very good points. Being in radio - a close cousin to print when it comes to pay - I can tell you that we aren't sitting on lopsided wallets lined with wads of money. Also, some reporters and broadcasters played sports and some didn't. That is not the criteria for the job. It may help in some instances, but it isn't the most important factor. I, for one, did play sports and use that somewhat in my broadcasts and reporting. But, the most important factor is the ability to relate what has happened so that the average fan can have a better understanding of the event.
  12. I'm not Mr. Cude. He does Milan games, I do Peabody, Gibson County & Bradford games - we just happen to have the same first name. I didn't say any teacher or anyone else is a liar - I would appreciate it if you didn't take what I post out of context. Here's exactly what was posted: "As to the kid you call "Pirtle", he wasn't in the building...so, he can't play if he isn't there. He was not dressed out and therefore, didn't play. It's not my or your place to comment any further." Is that doubting what you were told - no. You may have been told of the situation by teachers &/or administrators - that's fine. I talked with the coach and know what I need to know. I just decided it was not for air. The big news was not a player being suspended but Peabody winning the region championship - the game is what should be the focus of attention. I have no web identity to hide behind when I'm on the air - in fact I don't hide who I am on this site either. Thus, I have to be careful about what is said. I have to distinguish between fact, fiction, rumor and what needs to be reported and not reported.
  13. It doesn't matter how tall a player is when he is double-teamed from start to finish. Doaks did what was needed from him as did the other Peabody players for the Golden Tide to win. Congratulations Clint Sisco and the Golden Tide on a very impressive Region tournament. As to the kid you call "Pirtle", he wasn't in the building...so, he can't play if he isn't there. He was not dressed out and therefore, didn't play. It's not my or your place to comment any further. Whether or not a LC player had the flu, they played hard nonetheless. The Falcons are very talented and will be a very tough road opponent for Middleton. Good turnout for both schools. It was a great atmosphere for high school basketball. Also, congratulations to Gleason on a fine tournament!
  14. I believe we'll have to get Page to separate you two tonight!
  15. redbirdfan could tell you all about it. He has an autographed picture of that team in his office and has 5 copies of "Rebel Rap!"
  16. Maybe we'll meet up at the Murphy Center.
  17. Well, congrats to Wayne County...I still think Edney is one of the best in 1A! Tough luck Lady Viks. ptguard12, If you're looking for a sectional game in this part of the state to go to - you might want to head to Jackson or Trenton. I think the USJ/South Fulton game will be worth the drive. Of course, the Peabody/Madison matchup has so many side stories - with Patterson coming back to Trenton and all. Both will probably be worth the price of admission.
  18. What!?! The Lady Vikings lost! Man, sorry to hear that PC fans. I was hoping to see Edney play in the state tournament again! That is a let down!
  19. Ah brings memories of Chris Farley in "Tommy Boy" - instead it'll be (sung) "heavyd in a little tank top, heavyd in a little tank top!"
  20. I've seen USJ's press - South Fulton is quicker than the Lady Bruins. They have an excellent point guard in Alexander and will handle the press. In fact, I believe the Red Devilettes will get several layups off the USJ press.
