  1. I would assume meeting is Saturday morning. Haven't heard for sure from Big Brother. Lot of pressure on Westview folks to follow up the cuisine we've been used to at Gibson County. I'll probably start the day with a hearty breakfast at Coaches Corner then waddle out to Westview where I trust a steak will follow the all important coin flips and bracketology. HeavyD I assume you'll make an appearance?
  2. No Robin I'll have to depend on your call. Gonna rest up when I can for the stretch run starting next week.
  3. If any of these games meant anything toward the post-season the Wizard would cook up a potion to help the healing but since these are all non-district affairs look for Latoya to get LOTS of rest and the games become character builders for the rest of the Lady Chargers. A week from Thursday in Charger Arena is the next game that really matters. Peabody/Dyersburg are tune-ups. Losses wouldn't be devastating.
  4. My understanding Board of Control was to meet today 2/9. Is this still on? If so, does anyone have a contact in Hermitage. ELA maybe?
  5. Certainly entitled to your opinion but please unlock your caps lock!
  6. I know the coacht following isn't real big down in the southwest with the sketchy info that's found. However, if anyone has these scores it would be immensely appreciated. Covington-12/19 Ripley, 1/9 Fayette-Ware, 1/16 Brighton, 1/30 Ripley Brighton-1/23 Ripley
  7. I have heard that too but not from AP directly. I certainly hope there was. That might explain why the polls showed so little movement. I know for a fact there was something wrong because WCMT voted Huntingdon #1 in Class A and so did the Jackson Sun yet they only were creditied with one first place vote. After watching the Fillies win at Gleason they got mine & Jeremy's vote.
  8. Time now for "Vic's Picks" brought to you by, well I'm still looking for a sponsor. Westview over Crockett Co Clarksburg over Gleason Greenfield over Obion Central Trenton Peabody over West Carroll Union City over Dyer Co Adamsville over Fayette Acad Bolivar over Liberty Camden over Riverside Dyersburg over Halls Gibson Co over South Fulton Humboldt over McNairy Central JCS over TCA Northside over Haywood Co Chester Co over Southside Lexington over McKenzie Middleton over Scotts Hill USJ over Madison Waverly over Huntingdon JCM over Bolton Not bad. 18-1. Missed my "upset special" Chester over Southside.

  10. I want to totally agree with sportsradiotn. He and I try our best here in West Tennessee to do the research and vote legitimately in the AP poll. As a broadcaster for Weakley County sports I was shocked that Gleason still got 12 first place votes after two losses! I think Randy Frazier would agree that they're not the #1 team in Class A girls and I was NOT one of the "Dirty Dozen" who made this weeks poll a travesty. While most say the only poll that counts is the one played on the floor, these polls serve a purpose of recognizing young people's efforts and generating interest in high school athletics. Let me take this forum to say a big THANK YOU to Coach T, Iamoz, and anyone else who helps administer this website. It's sure made my job easier. Wish some of my fellow AP voters would follow suit.
  11. As a longtime observer of OCCHS roundball I would have to agree that the talent level is down some this year and what is there doesn't really fit Coach Greer's preferred style. Their record is abysmal but have been competitive in nearly every game. Just can't seal the deal and part of that is not having a "go to guy" who can create something off the dribble and make the defense honest. Too many spot up shooters who thing defense is something that keeps de-cows in!
  12. Only if you'll be in my corner to slip me a foreign object!
  13. I understood twhoops was coachinhoops with a mask because he'd lost a "loser leaves town match". May be wrong. I'm working on booking an opponent for Kazahori.
  14. Now wait a minute. If he's springing for 1,000 puke bags business must be really good! I'm asking for a raise!
  15. Hey sportsradiotn, glad you found this thread. Hope you didn't get too wet going home.
  16. I dropped Mt. Pleasant to #6 on my ballot this week & will take a look at Wayne County. As for Chat. Christian, I bet your SE Tn. media aren't doing their job of voting them higher. I had them #8 with the win over Temple Tuesday that helps bump them up in my eyes. Some of us in other areas do the best we can researching other regions but it's hard. Appreciate the input.
  17. LC Girls Coach Bret Johnson is now the Principal at Lake County but no "offical" decision will be made on whether he will give up coaching duties until after the season. It would not be unprecedented for him to continue since Randy Frazier does a pretty fair job of both down the road at Gleason. I think it's a little early for the coaching rumor mill to crank up. Let's don't do a "Roy Williams" on anybody before their season is over!
  18. My vote had Raleigh-Egypt #4 & Kingsbury #6. Some voters don't do their homework I'll agree.
  19. I agree that Haywood deserves to be ranked statewide and I voted them #5 on my ballot this week. Have only seen Covington in their run to the championship of Martin Christmas Tourney where they played well. Information on them is sketchy in all available sources. Lost to Bolton Tuesday. Don't think they're quite Top 10 statewide but for sure Top 10 West Tennessee
  20. Yes, they miss each Friday night game. Takes away two starters and makes Dresden much smaller/younger.
  21. Just for the record, the Morton Brothers do not play on Friday nights due to their religious beliefs. That hampers Coach Dilday on those nights so Greenfield should be a solid favorite friday night

  23. Martin Lions Club Christmas Tourney @ Westview 12/27 4:00 Henry Co-Covington 5:30 Bolton-Liberty Tech 7:00 Union City-Mem. Carver 8:30 Westview-Dresden Four games Monday and Tuesday. Same times. All games can be heard at 101.7 WCMT
  24. Good post PowerSet. I'd give you a good mark if I still could.
  25. If all three are tied in region then overall record is next tiebreaker since the three split with each other. Ripley should finish first. Covington must beat Milan this week or hope Obion Co. loses to Humboldt. If their overall records are the same Obion Co. would be 2nd based on head-to-head win over Covington.
