  1. Can anyone break down the scoring for me in the Crockett Co. game? I see that the Armstong kid must have been ignored by Crockett when preparing for the game and they focused on stoping the 3 main scorers from Central. So how many did they have each? Lee, Patterson, Housley of course
  2. I certainly didn't mean to upset you chief. I don't have a horse in the race, I was just surprised, and wanted to be sure it was correct. I'm sure if Sequoyah made it to the region, it's because they are a better team than the Meigs girls. Once again good luck to all the teams still playing!!!!!
  3. Can someone please let me know if there was a mistake on the posting of the Sequoyah v.s. Meigs score in the 5AA district tournament. Surely Meigs girls didn't lose to Sequoyah and not even make it to the region this year.
  4. How good are they, or how good should/could they be? They have more talent than any team in the area. Even more talent than McMinn Central. They are more well balanced. If they would just use what they got. They've got that big girl Morris inside who is twice as big as anyone in Walker Valley's whole school. There ain't no reason why they don't throw her the ball every time down the floor instead of shootin the 3 all the time. They should be alot better than they are.
  5. I would have to agree. Even though McMinn Central has lost to some sub par opponents, they should easily win the district. And if you're familiar with their region, that is a joke for them as well. Walker Valley is a quality team though, and if they're all clicking on the same night can be very dangerous. All they have to do is take advantage of the mismatch inside and keep taking at Central. Susanne Morris should become an all-stater in these games, no matter how many times they play each other. Good luck to everyone in their tournament play
  6. I was wondering the same thing. The talent level is certainly there, so what's the real problem? Are there internal problems? Is there no leader on a team of three college signees? I can't believe they lost by 42 at home. That program sure has slipped.
  7. I can not believe that ANY coach would make a commentl ike that about a team that just beat them. Surely that has to be a mistake. By saying such a thing you're admitting that you were beaten by a very poor team. If a coach really made that comment, I'd have to question his charachter and coahing ability. I won't believe it until I read it. In reference to Coach Morgan the only other article I've seen from him was from the Greenville tournament where they were beaten and he complained about the refs there too. Is this a pattern when they lose?
  8. Is that an accurate count of the fouls? Chargerettefan, were you at the game? If that's a true count, and not just an exaggeration, that is a HUGE difference in calls.
  9. Can anyone tell me the score tonight (Tues Feb 3) to the McMinn Co. girls game?
  10. I can sympathize with the feeling about the hall of fame games, and agree that they should be considered exhibition. However, we must realize that they are nothing more than money makers for the TSSAA. Like it or not, they've set the rules, and I can handle the rulse they've set. But if you really want to talk about not owning up to losses, you ought to look at some of the teams in East TN. When checking on scores, you can always tell when certain teams lost at home b/c they won't call in the games. Certain teams act as if the loss won't come out if they (the home school) don't call it in. Come on!!! These teams need to grow up and call in all scores win or lose!!
  11. At the last minute, I had to change plans and couldn't go to the game at Central tonight. Can anyone give me a score and brief details? I'm sure it was all it was built up to be.
  12. I've been watching this district very closely, and I have to go with Central. Although I think WV has an excellent team and should win with thei HUGE mismatch inside, I think Central is still winning this year off of it's reputation from the past years. They are clearly not as good as they have been in recent years, but most teams still approach a game against them as if they are. Good luck to both sides.
  13. I have to agree. I think it is most definitely our responsibility to push our children to be the best at whatever they choose to do. In fact, if we neglect to do this, i think we fail as parents. Now obviously we shouldn't try to live vicariously through our children and try to push our dreams on them, but if they choose to compete in a sport, or academic competition, or play a musical instrument etc, it is our responsibility to push them to be the best they can be no matter what sacrifices we as parents have to make. Not only might you wish 5 yrs down the road that you had, but so might your child. Parent child relationships are difficult enough to maintain throughout the years, so do everything you can to afford them with every possible opportunity now while you can!!!!
  14. I'm sorry I did not make it clear that i was talking about McMinn Central. Hope I didn't start or cause any bad feelings huck. bball2115 i thought that meigs did have some talent when i saw them last year, that's why i surpised by their record when i saw it. I guess we will all see which team is for real tonight. Good luck to all
  15. I'm not from the area, but have been keeping up with 5AA and 6AA, and saw the game tonight. Since Meigs played Central close, does anyone think there is a real chance for an upset tonight?
  16. Thanks tynerramfan I just wondered what was goin on. Meigs had done so good last year i was surprised they weren't now
  17. I was just wondering what happened to Meigs Co. this year? Didn't they have a good season last year? I thought they was supposed to be # 1 or #2 in that district
