Cade is pretty fast. On the what, 2 occasions this year, that our receivers weren't open downfield, and he decided to run the ball--I was shocked at how fast he was! Even if Helton has grown, he's still not as tall or as poised out there as Cade!! Go Murvul!!

He's listed at 5-10, 160 lbs on their roster. I usually hear him referred to as 5-9 though.

Maryville is returning alot of role-players from last year. We'll have to see which of these players will step up to fill the void left by Gaskin and Tipton. Based on last year's games, I don't think Gary Tucker will be starting unless his quickness and ball-handling has improved. He's a big body, but didn't play much last year. Maples didn't play varsity last year, so can't judge him yet, but he's pretty quick on the football field. I think early on Saxe, Koontz, and Byner will be the starters. Other positions are up for grabs. They have good coaching, as always, and that will help.

Haven't heard Tallent mentioned much for our arsenal--he's built like a tank and runs fearlessly, and only a junior!

I think Child's has learned how to catch. He's the leading receiver on the #1 4A team in the state.

Don't forget Mr. Childs in that crew--our leading receiver. Maryville will roll, and they tend to overlook no one especially with 2 weeks preparation. Look out West, could get ugly!

I'm still not understanding. Is it parents and police/fire escorting the bus to away games? or is it an escort when they walk to the field?

Varsity Blues is my guilty pleasure. Acting isn't great, accents are shotty, but if it's on I gotta watch it. I recommend "The Last Game". It's a documentary I rented earlier this year. Chronicles one year of this dynasty high school football program in Pennsylvania, which culminates in the father/coach going up against his son, who is coaching another team in the playoffs. It's no "Hoop Dreams"--another awesome sports film--but it's worth the rental price.
