  1. Is Kenyatta Fullilove still playing defensive back for Melrose...if so, how's he doing? I remember he was definitely tough on D against Maryville last year, knocking a few of our receivers flat...
  2. Agree...Alcoa was pretty rattled early on in the game against Maryville...and they haven't really been in a close game since late September vs. Mccallie...they are beatable, but it would be tough to beat them with their talent
  3. I don't remember the Rebel strategy from the first match-up with Powell this year, but they really contained Lee Smith somehow...he was a non-factor in that game. Hopefully they can do it again...
  4. Heck no! Just a memorable day for Maryville fans...
  5. Morristown West on a very cold and memorable day in Morristown, Saturday November 29th 2003 beat 'em...
  6. Yep, Halls game Lawhon was blocking for Tallent...
  7. Taka Koyano...47 yard field goal for the win
  8. 7-0 Maryville over Pigeon Forge....Ryan Tallent scored on a long run
  9. No!!! Wanted to see him play against the Maryville D. Hope he gets better soon and best wishes to the Gulmire family...
  10. Anybody know the time of the Oak Ridge - Maryville scrimmage on August 5th??
  11. Wish Maryville was in 5A so we could actually see this game during the regular season and at playoff time. Maryville's games with South Doyle, Lenoir City and Clinton are gonna be such boring blowouts this year. A 5A schedule would be so much more interesting...
  12. (See I knew he'd respond...) Fixture...ha! And I have some very good new pics thank u very much
  13. Blount County Football Jamboree will be played at Maryville High School this year. The extended five quarter format is scheduled for Friday, August 12th at 7:00pm. Quarter 0: Alcoa Tornadoes vs. Sevier Co. Bears Quarter 1: William Blount Governors vs. Seymour Eagles Quarter 2: William Blount Governors vs. Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders Quarter 3: Heritage Mountaineers vs. Greenback Cherokees Quarter 4: Maryville Rebels vs. Pigeon Forge Tigers
  14. Yes, don't u know Rebel Nation must respond to every post on Coach T...sorry had to say it Rebel Nation, but I speak the truth Good luck to Oak Ridge football this season...look forward to seeing them play this year and to the scrimmage with Maryville on August 5th
  15. I agree p9morbid. It is a school issue, and the decision was made in an attempt to prevent problems, not to be malicious.
  16. Yea...guess I could wear a Nazi SS uniform and carry a big flag with a Swastika on it...but I don't...because it's offensive to some people. And if the school wants to make a decision in order to prevent problems, then I will respect that decision. I know you all only care about what happens at football games, but Maryville Middle school is starting a multicultural diversity program this fall. Such a great and progressive school system. They are definitely doing good things where issues of diversity are concerned. I know you can argue the first amendment 'til you're blue in the face over this issue...but when the school is trying to do something to protect students and prevent problems, can't you just respect their wishes and be content with just watching the game?? Why are you making such a big issue over this?? Sorry, RebelNation...had to leave your board. No debate there...like talking to a brick wall.
  17. Lee Sweeney from Friendship Christian came out cold as QB on the Tennessee side. Cade Thompson from Maryville was substitued for him and threw for 269 yards, 1 TD, and 3 INTs. I guess the ground game for the Tennessee side was non-existent. Hard to win without a running game...
  18. Exactly. The majority of us Maryville fans cheer with our voices and hands, and the flag issue will not be a big deal. Maryville is a progressive school and trying to prevent things from happening in a county that has increasing racial tensions whether or not people want to admit it. I guess noisemakers, laser pointers, etc are also being banned. What purpose does a laser pointer have at a football game other than to distract the players? And the people who bring those sirens are just attention-seekers who serve to ruin the game for everyone sitting around them. I don't think the majority of Maryville fans will mind those bans at all. I'm hoping the passionate Maryville posters on this board are a minority. Some are talking about trying to change the face of the school board in the next election over this issue...which is completely nuts!!! We are blessed with one of the best school systems in the state in Maryville. School board must be doing something right, and should not be changed.
  19. Excellent post. With recent racial incidents in Blount County including the situation at William Blount high school and the recent vandalism of a Mexican store, Maryville City schools are being progressive thinkers once again...dealing with a potential problem before problems occur. I applaud them.
  20. They are cousins. Todd is a former Bobcat, Vol QB and Colorado Rockie
  21. What grade is Burnett in this year??
  22. Either Derek Hunt or Brent Burnett or both according to Coach Quarles. Still up in the air
  23. How about Alcoa's Joei Fiegler if you're talking about the greater Knoxville area. Helton is a better scrambler, but Fiegler ia a better QB and is getting Division I interest.
