  1. I know the cubs dont play CPA yet. I am talking in general and about the kids from Spring Hill who have to play CPA.....
  2. They hosted a girls substate game years ago so I believe the bleachers will be packed which will make for a great atmosphere!!!!!!!
  3. I am a cubs fan and a supporter of Cubs athletics. I really hope our guys keep playing "together" like they did this week. I was very impressed with the demeanor of Tony Sparkman last night. I talked to him after the game and he seems like a great kid. I wish them the best of luck against CPA and would love to see them make it to the Boro as well. I am tired of hearing about CPA. Yes they are good but in my opinion they should be in the division II tourney bc anyone who pays to attend a school is always at an advantage over the public schools who play the players that come thru their school system. I know that Darden and Thomas both transferred to Cheatham from other public schools but it seems that teams like CPA are able to bring in players every year at some other public schools expense bc they lured them there. Just my opinion.
  4. How do teams get seeded for the state tournament? I know the Sectional winners go but how do they determine who plays who in quarterfinals.....
  5. Anyone seen Coffman girls play? I am a Cheatham fan and know nothing about Coffman's program or their team. Could someone tell me what kind of game I am going to see tomorrow at Loretto?
  6. I heard Cheatham boys are the real deal. Quick guards, big post, and depth. Sounds like a good game coming Thursday night against Lewisburg. Any thoughts on who has the upper hand in this one?
  7. Hey just to give a little information to the schedule issue. The high schools were forced this year to change their tournament format, allowing only 2 games per night Monday-Thursday. This caused TSSAA to push the district tournaments up a week. Therefore, right in the middle of sectionals for middle schools. Middle schools have had their sectionals during the 2nd full week of February for years. With the changes made at the high school level, the middle schools weren't able to move theirs. Middle schools already start practice in October and moving it back to September makes no sense. The 2 game per night rule doesn't apply to middle schools because the games aren't usually as long and most teams don't have huge travel times like high schools in region play, etc. I know the tournament director of the Coffman tournament and the times were set so kids weren't going to get home so late. If the boys champioship game started at 7:30 it might end at 8:45 then trophy presentations, pictures, etc. Meaning Harpeth boys and parents may not get home until 11:00 p.m. I know it's inconvenient to parents for taking off work but you have to remember these kids will have school Tuesday morning. Just thought I could help clear a little of the confusion.
  8. Does anyone have information on any 8th or 9th grade team camps in the midstate? We have gone to Shelbyville, Giles County, Lebanon High in the past and I haven't heard much about camps for this year. I am looking for a competitive camp with possible room and board. If I have to commute I will. Please help with contact names and phone numbers.
  9. If you are going to bash a team and coach at least get all the facts straight. CMS is 22-2 on the year.
  10. FiftyZ, Tell the Lady Dragons that I will be rooting for them this evening. Coffman is a solid team, but with the experience of your coach in state games it gives Dickson the edge. Glad to see 3 teams from the MCAC in the finals on the girls side. It's amazing how the North dominated the tourney this year. Cheatham Boys are in the finals against New Prospect as well. Good luck and see ya in the Boro.
  11. Cheatham is the 2nd seed and will get three all district players for the regular season. I know my three, but who would you pick?
  12. Does anyone know about the Large school semi-finals? Who won? The score and so on.
  13. Harpeth girls beat Houston county in the consolation game.
  14. I guess winning 1 out of 3 isn't bad huh? Wow! The Lady Indians fell to Charlotte last night. Apparently losing Ellis destroyed Harpeth. I wish them luck in the State tournament next week.
  15. Wait just a minute. I am from the Northern Middle TN area and you are saying that we should produce information. Well, the area tournament just started last night and we would be glad to let you know who you will face. We won't know the seedings until Sat. but the teams are set for the girls. Cheatham, Harpeth, Charlotte, and Houston County will represent the North Area 1 small girls. I hope this will help. Good luck next week.
  16. Hey Itsgood, Sounds like you are a little bitter. I mean the man wins 30+ last year and gets to the state tourney. Does it the year before and all players have come through the system. This year two players have come from other places but why can't you just quit complaining and play the game. I am sick of hearing Waverly and Harpeth fans moaning about the "so-called" recruiting this year at Cheatham. Play the game and if your team is good enough to win fine, if not don't say it's because someone is recruiting unless it's been proven. It sounds to me like Carr knows what he is doing and that makes him a winner. So, lets see who wins Friday night to settle this thing.
  17. Abby Lawson is a force to be reckoned with in 10 AA. As a junior, she scored her 1,000th point last night against Hume Fogg. This is a great accomplishment for a deserving athlete. Great job Abby and go Lady Cubs.
  18. Are E.A. Cox and E.O. Coffman playing in the large division this year?
  19. I will be attending the Northern Middle Small Schools Tournament which will be at Charlotte Middle School. I will try to update scores and standings as they occur.
  20. Sycamore had a great game plan last night. They used all of their offensive weapons to their potential. They also put a lot of pressure on a very inexperienced quarterback in Christmas. As for the cubs, I think this may be the wake up call they needed going into next weeks game against Fairview. Both teams are good and Cheatham may have found out last night that just showing up won't get it done. Congrats to Sycamore in the win and I hope everyone in the county will root for the cubs throughout the playoffs.
  21. I am trying to take my 7th and 8th grade girls team to a good camp with stiff competition. We went to Lebanon last year and played good competition and I believe it helped us. Dirk Ash at Siegel Middle ran the camp and had good teams from the middle Tn area. I would like to find the same type camp this year. I know everyone starts sending things out about the first of April but, I am ready to get started on a new year.
  22. Congratulations on a great win last night against a talented Waverly team. Coach Carr had his troops ready for battle last night and it showed. Cheatham jumped out to an 11-3 lead and never looked back. Kris Nolen's outside shot was on and so were the Lady Cubs. The defensive pressure was outstanding and the teamwork was unbelievable. Hats off to the hard work the girls and coaching staff have put in and lets not stop here. I hope Fairview and that Bledsoe girl are up for the challenge. If not they will get sent back to Williamson County very fast. Great job.
  23. The Bearcats of Cheatham Middle showed why they deserve to carry the championship trophy back to Ashland City. This team, filled with experience and talent played hard against a tough Lewis County team. With the final score of 37-33 the crew from Cheatham County rode the leadership of Tyler Guye. Great win for the Coaches and tremendous effort by the players. I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the action.
  24. I would have to say Tyler Guye from Cheatham Middle is a top pick. He led his team to the Mid-State Sectional title over the Lewis County Raiders. Great job. The team finished 18-5 with all five losses under 10 points. They beat a very good New Prospect team to get to the finals and beat a scrappy Lewis County team today.
